  • i love my irish bitch :P

  • I love irish setters

  • This was my first dog. She died though. :(

  • What a great video with a lot of good information. Thank you for sharing! I use it on my website meandmydogtips. Cheers!

  • Animal Planet is may fav channel! My fav shows are Growing Up and Big Cat Diary. I think that they REALLY need to do the English Setter on here. I would be so happy!

  • Anybody else seen Mitt Romney and how he treated his Irish Setter while travelling in a car? It totally disgusts me, you can view it here:

    watch?v=Pr8G98ClnqA

  • the red setters we have in Ireland have much shorter hair i think maybe the ones are breed like that in the states for shows maybe!,,,,I just recently got mine at Christmas his name is Darcy...im sure he is going to start talking to me soon....;)

  • Thumbs up if you love dogs

  • Gordon setters are way better... I have to say that because my beauty Gordon will kill me if I don't...

  • Irish Setters are my most beloved breed.... I really would like to have one... as I studied deeply aobut these dogs visiting owners of Irish setters, breeders, dog exhebitions it became clear for me, that I dont have the right conditions (lack of time, lack of space).... so I just can enjoy to watch these dogs of other owners as your video describes excellently... its a high responsability of a dog owner 2 prepare the right conditions such a wonderful animal can feel & stay healthy. Good video !

  • My parents had one of these when i was growing up, he was beautiful and good natured, but incredibly stubborn!

  • I just LOVE irish setters, i really want to have one as soon as possible! my dream dog.

  • Mine is 16months and destroys the house when left alone. i love him so much but will have to get rid of him :-( he suffers from separation anxiaty i guess :-(

  • @Pyton13 dont get rid of him.. call a dog trainer who can and will help.. leave chew toys out for him and leave the television on so he tinks ders people around... people need to learn to train dogs!!

  • My dog is named PABLO, hes the BEST!

  • I've met a mean irish setter. I've always thought they were beautiful dogs, but my mom brought home an purebred setter. It was well trained but apparently didn't care for kids or men (bit my dad). It went back in 24 hours time. None of us had treated the dog with anything but loving kindness. Who knows, maybe it had been abused.

  • My Irish Setter, Tommy lived for nearly 16 years....he was my baby and the absolute love of my life!! I grew up in a big house so he had lots of space to run there but I took him out for long walks and runs daily....he was a big baby...I miss him sooo much, he died last year :(

  • @MsAltadiva

Agree, super sensitive, highly intelligent and RASCAL. I got two now, my oldest boy passed away recently, was the saddest day in my life.

Irish Setters are the sweetest dogs in the world, lots of energy and spirit. Always pawing me for whatever they want and won't stop until they get it....lol

Yes, wonderful breed but not for everyone........

  • when i move i will sure get one.If someone have one could you tell me about their temperament?

  • @isidora121minime

Irish Setters are a high energy breed and they need lots of exercise (i.e. off-leash running). If they get their daily runs, they are very content to cuddle with you on the couch. They are intensely loving and loyal. They are also super sensitive, highly intelligent (contrary to their ill-deserved reputation), and NAUGHTY! I have had them my whole life. They have a great sense of humour and love to tease. Wonderful, wonderful breed.

  • @MsAltadiva

Naughty?Do you think that they will case small animals or play roughly with then because i have six year old yorkie?

  • @isidora121minime

Irish Setters are great with all animals. They seem to have a "sense" of who they are playing with, and adapt their playing style accordingly. Not a rough dog at all.

  • nice dogs, but i live in an apartment so i can't have one

  • I adopted two Irish setters, littermates in March of 2003. In April of 2oo3 while walking the first one in the park, I was followed at 0500 in the morning by a lurking man who all of a sudden showed up closing in fast on me. The setter I was walking was busy w squirrels, while the male was in the van, having fits...I hurriedly got to the van in time for him to lunge out towards the would be robber, or whatever he was. Needless to say, the sis setter joined in, thus saving me from harm.

  • i have an irish setter

  • I have a irish setter, and he don't have that long coat..

And he is much smaller than these ones!

  • @MegaAwzum my cocker spaniel do abit look like irish setter but smaller :)

  • GO IRELAND!!!

  • I like hot dog dogs

  • I have one that is mixed with a collie. people tell me he is the most beautiful dog they've ever seen. He has the signature color on his coat, but it's not as long as the dogs in this video. He's the nicest dog you'll ever meet, but very clumsy. nonetheless i wouldn't have it any other way.

  • My Irish setter is almost the complete opposite :) she likes to run but spends most of her day sleeping :D she doesn't hunt birds she hunts frogs and she doesn't bark very often though she howls a lot <3 she has a short coat with blonde tips :D she is a pure bred but she's just not pedigree :D i love her to bits, she is the friendliest dog ever <3 Her name is Emily and she's 12 :)

  • I have a 5 year old Irish Setter called Luna. I Love her to bits. She loves eating too much, chasing squirrels like there is no tommorow. When off the leash, be prepared to run. Also sheds ALOT of hear. So keep of the beds and furniture. Looks hilarious when se has just woken up. Looks tired and stressed out. Love her.

  • i have an irish setter as well, they are the BEST dogs out there! so lovable, and its true that they ALWAYS try to please you! great friends over all.

  • This will be my first dog <3

  • Excellent air-scenting ability? Endurance to run/travel over long distances?

Doy they use these dogs for search and rescue? Sounds like they should

    Beautiful dogs. Always thought so

  • Excellent air-scenting ability? Endurance to run/travel over long distances?

Doy they use these dogs for search and rescue? Sounds like they should

  • I have a mix of Irish Setter and Leonberger. And its black! Worlds most lovely dog.

  • @Marenay

That must be a really pretty dog. :)

  • @ChessAndTheAwesome She really is, yes :) And her eyes is just so beautyful.. almost like a human haha! She got tons of expressions :)

  • i want this dog

  • Very interesting, thank you!

  • @b0sk00000

thats also wat people say in my neightbor hood.

my irish setter is 1 year old and his name is Oscar.

and everyone says it, that he is very beautiful.

  • Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I do believe if you lined them next to each other, and had a contest, the Irish Setter would win, hands down. Only my opinion. The deep mahogany red is fantastic. OK You-tubers, vote now. Is it Ireland or Mexico?

  • 0:00

  • the famous youtuber nigahiga has one of these!

  • I remember going into a restaurant in houston. I was surprised to see that the signs on the restroom doors did not have the typical "men" and "women" sign. They were "pointers" and "setters" wih an image of each dog. That was 15 years ago and I still laugh.

  • I have a 3 year old and a puppy who is coming home in 2 weeks =]

  • @Jenn93ifer awhs but if its 3 its not really a puppy...

  • @verykittykira Setters are classed as puppies until they are three according to the breeders we have used in the past, but I meant that we already had one (who is 3) and now have a new puppy as well

  • My setter Leo is 3 months old. And it's most beautiful puppy in the neighborhood :)))

  • I've lost track of how many of these videos i've watched over the past three days. Great videos.

  • DAMN, those lungs are HUGE!!

  • Gorgeous dog!

  • I have a girl setter called Emily she's 12 and is a runt she has a short coat because she is not pedigree but she is still very pretty and i love her!! <3 :)

  • lol i only like them cause im irish lol

  • @ForeverxMemoriesxxx they probably look better than your family

  • @ForeverxMemoriesxxx they probably look better than you and your family,

    i love dogs <3

  • @babynification doberman is better ass

  • beautiful dogs

  • I have two, one of them is incredibly clever for a setter and the other is dumb as a brush. They can be stubborn and persistent when they want food. They are amazing dogs and they absolutely adore children. They are the perfect dog for a young family, their aim is to please and are very loving. Not a very good guard dog though, they will most likely show the robber where the television is!

  • that health bit is depressing

  • mine is a nutter(riley) but love him loads,

  • Gee, these setters are real beauties!

When I was a twen, I had an Irish Setter shedog named Cora. She is now in heaven and Lord knows I'm still missing her. But I know she's waiting for me up there...

  • Cesar's first pet dog.

  • fucing ads wont play

  • easy to train..? well I don't know.. they are really energetic, and need to run every day, But what is true, that they are really perfect pets for family , they absolutely love their owners, and they're so gentle..

  • @Wonderfull8 Mine is a therapy dog and isn't over energetic at all, just need to take them for walks often and play with them. I have two, my other one is active but not bad and is lazy at times...

  • Love the breed, but too hyper for me. I cope best with energy-levels the same like a Golden Retriever.

  • @FattyDudley but golden retrievers are basically golden irish setters though

  • @RedOrisis I thought Irish Setters are really high-energy. It's basically the environment that's the trouble for me. I can be really active when the weather is very nice. If I live in the great outdoors I might get an Irish Setter.

  • @RedOrisis No where near! Irish Setters are more elegant and have different shaped heads, are longer and taller and beautiful! Their personalities are different too and their faces look different, the Golden Retrievers are stockier and not Setters, they're Retrievers!

  • @FattyDudley Golden Retrievers are actually even more hypo! My friend has two of them and they still chew like crazy, she takes them to training and walks them everyday and they are still crazy, they always jump up on people and she is dog trainer, she tries hard to teach them but doesn't get through to them! My Irish Setters are better behaved than hers and any other hypo golden I have met, mine never even chew not even when they were pups.

  • @RubyRoo18 but Goldens are easily satisfied in exercise. I just take mine for a 45-60 minutes walk and he's happy. Or I can play fetch with him for 20-30 until he gets really tired. He tires easily cause he's pretty fat.

  • @FattyDudley Mine rather sleep and they are only young. They love walkies and the beach though, but are very quiet throughout the day.. A lot of people have no idea and think they are 'crazy' until you actually own one and then you just want another Irish Setter, because they are the most sweetest and gentlest dogs. Mine is in the highest levels of obedience school and is also a P.A.T dog and C.G.C. If they are indoor dogs which they are meant to be, they will just sleep most of the day..

  • Best Dog Ever!

And people who say they're 'Nuts' or 'mental' just do't exercise them enough.

  • They're easy to train? AHAHAH! My baby was nuts and had a very strong "personality". Still, he was an awesome dog, the best I could've wished for. Even as he grew older and his strength started to fade, he wouldn't "complain" or show any signs of weakness because he didn't want to disapoint us in guarding the house. I miss him so much.. I love him so much...

All they ever want from you is a smile! They love running around with you but also likes sitting down with you too!

In Ireland now its winter so we take him into the house in the evening and he stays in the utility, but he always goes into the kitchen because they just love their owners!

  • @iLoveeMusic17 I dunno about 'anyone's dream dog'. Some people don't have the energy to handle red setters =p

  • I love that comercial!

  • @tomyearl lol no

  • @tomyearl i dont think so

  • @tomyearl not the most cause there may be prettier in the same breed like a different dogie :D

  • @tomyearl you think so? hmm.. i disagree, definately the chihuahua is in my opinion :L

  • @tomyearl worlds most mental dog, never met a red setter that wasn't a lunatic, lovely but mad as hatters

  • do they have any of these on dvds now

  • season 3 is out and they have the Gordan setter now the black and tan one

  • Im watching this with my irish setter Amber. She has filled my heart. Sweetest dog ive ever had.

  • I setter irlandesi sono bellissimi sotto la luce del tramonto, il pelo sembra di unmetallico caldo bronzo bagnato dalla pioggia. Irish setter the best.

  • @angelemon94 Shut Up

  • We had 2 setters and they both lived to be 15

  • screw these damn commercials.

  • This brought tears to my eyes.

My sister always wanted an Irish Setter and when she was going to college she found a beautiful stray. She named him Paddy and I have never loved a dog more and never will. R.I.P. Paddy and don't worry. When I see you again I will be sure to bring alot of tennis balls for you to chase once again.

  • "Irish Setters were bred in Ireland"...Of course they were, hence the name, DUH!

  • Aww made me miss my grandpatent's Irish Setter Hooligan

  • Ireland - even their dogs are ginger

  • I got 4 setters in total they great dogs

    I miss them all

    RIP Cita

    Athos Mach and Indy

  • my uncle used to have one...great dog

  • my dog is an irish setter, and i love him. but my setter is not braun/red everywere. she's white on the chest en feets. she is mostly red with a little bit white. I think its a mix betwine an irish setter and something else that I not know.

has someone any idea? irish setter and ...?

  • @ghenkie139 irish setters sometimes have a little white on their chest. Don't know about feet (but I'm sure it happens). If the only reason you think your pup is a mix is because of the white, then it might not be a mix xD

  • @iamsaztak Wouldn't be a mix anyway, because you can never ever get the deep red colouring with cross breeding. My Irish has a white patch on her chest and apparently a lot of Irish Setter breeders always want that special white patch, because it gives them extra points in shows and is rare...

  • my girlfriend wants one of these i want a japanese akita but she says no because there nasty apprantlly a bit hypicritical if you ask me your not alowed the dog you want but your unfair if i cant have one of these women

  • "See this sweater, theres no better, than authentic Irish setter..."

  • @GerbilEssences Hold Up. o-o

  • @GerbilEssences haha The Simpsons FTW

  • @liberty211662 yeah they are

  • i have grown up with irish setters and i have always had one. anyone who does not like these dogs is most assurably suffering from a sight disfunction. If you dont like the breed dont comment.

  • ugly ass dog and only white people would kiss a fucking dog on the mouth no matter how CLEAN there mouth is.

  • @liberty211662 If you don't see the beauty of these magnificent dogs than why comment? Keep horrible opinions to yourself.

  • @inose010 Are you going to make me?

  • @liberty211662 funny how your name is liberty when you dont let a dog have its own liberty to be how it was born without your critiscism. Dont even bother commenting then.

  • I don't think a user name has anything do do with the person.....

  • Comment removed

  • @autumn2354 why? maybe you don't like them due to a experience but you know deep inside they are beautiful!

  • @inose010 not really

  • @autumn2354 Both you and that libertywhatever are blind to see that these are very pretty dog. That dark golden reddish brown fur is beautiful. They are also quite cute, if you think they're ugly then keep it to yourself. :)

  • I wish to have, but they are to active for Poland.

  • Like all popular breeds they have been ruined by greed. Amurkin style greed.

  • My Irish setter is the biggest and fastest in Norway. 75cm- 80pounds. He kills cat, he is to fast for them

  • Irish setters are the most beautiful and sweetest dogs ... nutty, goofy, and very active ... and truly wonderful. sara9896 need not respond ...

  • i had one years ago. this is one of the sweetest dogs ever. great with kids, and very very strong.

  • I love my Irish Setter, I wish I could have more!

They are one of the most beautiful dogs. If they are taught well, they can be one of the most kindest dogs you could ever meet.

  • Irish setters are awesome!! i have a 4 yr old male. he is the usual chestnut-red but with a small white cross on his upper throat. he is 26 inches to shoulder and wieghs 60 lbs. his fav thing to do is just lay on u and cuddle. he thinks hes a 10 lb Chihuahua!! his name is Buddy.

  • ITS MY DOG !

  • One of the best dogs i have ever had was an irish setter/retriever

  • "Eternally youthful" is just a nice way of saying "goofy". They aren't stupid per se, just ditzy. They're the blonds of the dog breeds.

  • Boxers are the same way ... clownish and playful; eternal puppies.

  • I had an Irish setter when I lived in Saint simons island Georgia. She used to get out and run in the marsh or on the beach. I used to chase after her.But gave up figuring she'd come home when she was ready.I thought she was stupid. But well maybe it was I that was the one that needed to be trained?!

  • im watching this with my irish setter :D

  • @gameinformer135 i bet he or she is on your lap or the head is on your lap our boy still thinks he is a pup at nine years old, great dogs this is our third:)
