I'm going to try this at the weekend, but without the paneer. I'm really looking for one recipe from Pakistan which I cannot find anywhere. It is the daal that is made in darbars (lungar/langar daal). It's a totally awesome flavour daal, so if anyone knows the recipe, please pass it on to me insha Allah.
thankx for posting this recipie.. i usuallly try and follow your recipie and they always turn out the best ....... being a Pakistani I really love the way you cook all the Paki dishes in its own style... excellent.... i would like to request "gurd walay chawal" plz... My husband loves it and i just dont get the recipie anywhere...
@carpediem43 Mutanjen is the brownish rice with meat.... I think pindi2009 means the zarda rice but with green and red coloured rice...usually served at weddings...?
hey it was toooooooooooooo guddddddddddddd recipe you showed i love zarda but i dint know how to make it and when anyone else give me i used to eat alot but just beacuse of ur tasty recipe i now know how to make zarda thx alot yaar whats your name
i think rice takes time to cook so maybe boiling it a tiny bit before may help.- Before starting to make sweet rice. When i make it i dont think that i will use that much sugar!
nice recipe! Just in case anyone is confused, you dont need to add the coconut, or nuts, or you could add sultanas too. You dont need to add the paneer or any of that stuff to the top at the end either, it wont really change the dish. You dont need to add the cloves either. To ne honest i think the cloves mess the taste up a bit.
it was quite informative vedios, once i was cooking zerada and put sugar in oil but al sugar bcome solid lol and i did not know what to do, byt any way thanks for information.
Hello, I'm just recently beginning to cook and your video are an awesome aid. I was wondering if you ever use shaan/national masalas instead of always making your own. Is there any difference or would you do some using those masalas? ANywho, keep up the great work and I'm hoping there's only tons more to come =)
yes...and ghee, not oil...oil ruins the flavor & taste, what's the point of having bad tasting food in the name of "healthy choice", especially when the refined oil here is one of the worst things for health?
thank you thank you thank you for putting this vid up. i made zarda today. my husband love zarda n he has bein tellin me to make it. ill let ya guys kw if he liked em or nt. thanks very much

Bullshit. The proper way involves proper sugar syrup made by boiling sugar and water together. Food coloring - no. Proper saffron - YES.

Amma actually layered the rice with the khoya & &some nuts, poured syrup & ghee on top, & then cooked it on dum.
