Midnight Star one of my all time favorite groups from the 80's. Slow Jam my favorite love song from the 80's, yes #1, I love everything about this song.
I'm glad I grew up in this era. The 70's, 80's and 90's had the best music ever. This took me back to when I was young and going to those house and basement parties. It never failed this song was alway playing. Music will never be the same especially when soul/r&b was real. True artist and bands killing. The concerts were even better. The music, melody and lyrics were on point. I know time has to change but I wish some things remained the same. Like if you love real music and artist like this.

I remember back in the 80's - we used to compete among friends to identify which band is playing by hearing the 10 seconds of musical intro in each song- trying to figure whether this was new track by SOS band, Mtume, Earth Wind & F ,Womack & Womack etc. Every band had its own flavor and style .Now everyone sounds the same.
The vocals are playback.Watch the difference in level and thickness and presence of the voice when he starts to sing in comparison to when he's still speaking.And yeah, i know about studio technology, doesn't change the fact that they were using a playback track for (these) vocals.

Your comments as far as what music has evolved into are hilarious, but the situation is sad. I can totally see the future of music being nothing but techno beats and auto-tuned vocals. No more real folks playing instruments and singing. The record industry must have saved a fortune with a pretty big percentage of their artists on their roster having "beats" produced for them and they sing over them (if they don't use auto-tune now).

Everytime I see this clip it just makes me wanna go back to those days when Midnight Star was TEARIN UP THE CHARTS with all their hits. I'm talkin REAL RAW GUT TALENT right here!!!
