This is a great work by Uli. There is a deep message, and a great music statement. Uli mixes classical and rock forms perfectly, while expressing the depths of feelings. I think this is one of the best attempts of freeing the boundaries and forms, with out taking away from what the rich traditions already had to offer- meaning Thematic Development, Dynamics, Orchestration, "Blues Feel," and so on and so forth. This is such a profound work.

I like Uli's Voice. And I'll lay you dollars to doughnuts that this is the colourless palette that he is preparing a new portrait upon. You just wait for the next Symphonic Legend and see! It's a sad fact that a lot of the greatest artistes are not recognized until it is too late!
Honestly, this cd is like Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" but this is the real stuff! LISTEN!!!

Why did Uli ruin this & sing on it!!! his singing sounds like he's gargling petrol & fresh turds! His first 2 solo albums were absolutely ruined by his terrible vocals & even die hard fans admit that, will he ever learn? Very pretentious album / lyrics a 5 year old could write/ very one dimensional guitar playing / weak sound of guitar compared to Astral Skies, etc. Uli can do vastly better than Dark Sky CRAP album!
@CloudsBeyond heya. I agree he should have gone all instrumental, he can do alot better then this. He proved that in scorpions with drifting sun, thats one of my favs with him.
