  • 1st class! 5 stars

  • is she supercharged by any chance?

  • No its a big bore 3.0litre straight six with the either twin SU carburettors or three twin choke Weber carbs giving them a maximum 200+ horsepower. The standard 3.0 litre BJ8 series 3 developed 150 BHP at 4700 RPM.

  • Must be the gearbox i can hear whining.

  • Some Healeys had straight cut gears that were used for racing and rallying and are still available. In answer to your other query about supercharging , I don`t think there has ever been a supercharged Healey, but don`t shoot the messenger . Its just that in my life time I have never heard or seen of a Healey being supercharghed. My own BJ8 Series 3 has twin SU carbs with the overdrive gearbox and has been clocked at 130 Miles per hour. Not bad for an old lady. The motor has been tweaked somewhat

  • Only a chick would run in FRONT of a car on the starting line like that. She was lucky the driver didn't have to spoil his day by picking her out of his grille !

  • what a beast!
