This is a tip i got from another web site. You don't have to put in killall finder every time you reboot anymore this was the easiest and fastest way to get it to work.
I created an applescript application an added it to my login items.
1. Go to Applescript put this in as shown below.
Applescript contents as follows:
do shell script "killall Finder"
2. Then click save as a window pops up click the drop down box then pick save as a Application remember where you save this file to.
3. Then go to System Preferences>Users and groups>login items and hit the +sign below the list. A file window will appear then navigate to where you saved the file and click on it.
I did this and tried a reboot and it worked fine. It took a fraction of a second to run the script.
@TheSYRN You're welcome and it's called HyperDock. It's $10 on the Mac App Store and it also has the window snap feature. There's another one called DockView which is a little more cheaper, but I don't believe it has the window snap feature like Hyperdock.
@TheRisboro Bottom link in the description for those who don't use TotalFinder. You will have to create a script that will do the Terminal command for you, so you don't have to when you log in. I also included step by step screenshots incase I became confusing.
@wolfeyez o.O That's a first. I've never heard or seen comments of people liking the monochrome sidebar. Oh well win some lose some, thanks for watching! :)
@wolfeyez The thing I don't like about the monochrome is, I customize my Mac so I have custom folders along with the dock and app icons. Since I do this I know what the icons in the sidebar look like, and I can just choose the folder I need by recognizing the icon. Sure I could still do that with the monochrome but only to a certain extent. Any folder I want to add will just look the same and I don't like it.
@Athos523 Well, every person is different, and that's a good thing. I don't have the problem of finding what's what and I prefer if it's not taking my eyes out cuz I have to pay attention to other things + I really like the new look. I was like "yeah! finally!" :D for me too much colors is not a good thing. You find it easier to memorize your stuff because of the colors and there is nothing wrong about that. I'm sorry there is no easy way to customize it. Apple should think about that. :)
@wolfeyez Haha, no reason for you to be sorry. There's actually a petition out there to get Apple to bring back the color or give an option in System Preference to turn the monochrome on or off. I'm still checking Secrets to see if they found a way to turn off monochrome but nothing yet.
if your don't want to use terminal to relaunch Finder just hit CMD +ESC tabs to bring up Force Quit window, scroll over Finder and the "Force quit' tab changes to 'Relaunch'
Works perfect for me! ..I'm still scared of Terminal ;-)
@2s2s2ss Nah, Terminal isn't really scary. You really don't need to worry about most commands you enter, except for sudo commands. Anyways I made two update videos that shows you how to make a script that will automatically run the killall Finder command.
Very nice video! How do you have the mini preview of your windows when you hovered over Safari and Finder? I would really like to know. Thank you for your help and awesome video post!
@MagellanModels Thanks! If you're a Total Finder user I have a update video for that. Link is in the description. It's a shareware app called Hyperdock.
@Athos523 Oh nice! Thank you very much for your help! I tried looking for that link you were talking about but could not find it. Could you maybe send me the link which shows the video you are speaking about? Thanks again for all of your help today!
@orkid682 i think so. in the update video i have, someone from the apple discussion board created an apple script that works with total finder. the script will basically do the killall finder commend.

@Athos523 - Have you found a way to default the change and load the colors at startup?
