  • @Anophis Nice! Glasgow is a great city and there's so many hidden places in it :)

  • @AbandonedScotland Yeah there is, really lovely places here!

  • Wish I could visit this place sometime in my life - if only travelling wasn't so expensive.

  • @tdmmv Yeah it's unfortunate that travelling is so expensive, it's definitely worth it though if you can ever do it in the future :)

  • Thank you guys for enjoying the music - i truly appreciate it. Cheers! - Drew of The Northern Hemisphere

  • @tdmmv The music is really great, keep it up Drew! :)

  • Sehr schönes Video, gefällt mir sehr.

  • @uho9455 danke schoen :)

  • wow

  • @LifeInTheBackyard Yeah some of the architecture is amazing :)

  • I love it up there .. always go there on the 5th Nov .. great view of the works' . no traffic too.

  • @MrTranswave Yeah that's a great Idea! I might try that next year.

  • For some reason I can't get this video to play! I've just watched others, so it doesn't appear to be my computer but this is the second time I've tried, with the same result! I really want to see it as well :( Anybody else having problems?

  • @19jj80 It's fine for me, might be a YouTube issue?

  • @AbandonedScotland Might well be. I'll give it another shot :)

  • I just stumbled across your vids...amazing stuff. You have an artist's eye for making these old places come alive...If only all the photographers of old abandoned places had the same eye/equipment, what riches we would have. :) Thank you.

  • @vgoth100 Thanks for the compliment I really appreciate it, I'd love for more folk to get out and record these type of places :)

  • Funny how it 10 min walk from my house but I never ones set foot in there.Great video

  • @devilwithin1988 You should definitely visit when you have a chance, it's worth a look around particularly in good weather.

  • It really looks like a peaceful place to walk.

  • @nat1967 Yeah it's a great wee place to walk around and see some really ornate architecture.

  • Wierd how humans do so much for a bunch of bones!!!

  • @BenFosterism Makes you wonder why people feel the need to be remembered once they are gone.

  • @BenFosterism I suppose it's more for the people left that have memories of the person and like to have somewhere in the world they can go to remember them.

  • It's amazing how the Victorians revered death so much that they built cities for them.

Did you ever see the episode of Life of Grime when it was in Edinburgh, some local kids broke into a crypt of a infamously evil 18th century Judge, whom people were scares witless of, but they stoke his skull and were playing football with it in the graveyard. I just found that funny as much as I did shocking.

  • @LarryBundyJr Kids will be kids, nice bit of trivia that.

  • @LarryBundyJr Very interesting infomation.

  • @LarryBundyJr was 17th Century George Mackenzie and he rounded up about 1200 hundred people and stuck them in a graveyard and left them there to die. So, good to see his grave desecrated by some Goth neds :-)

  • @LarryBundyJr That is an interesting bit of info, I suppose it's all down to the eye of the beholder whether the place is of any significance. The architecture here was really interesting to me.

  • @AbandonedScotland Thanks! It's also sad that those monuments were built by loved ones and friends to remember them by, but those people too have now gone.

Is this the oldest place you've covered so far?

  • @LarryBundyJr Yeah it probably is the oldest place actually Larry, I'd love to have a look at some of those crypts in Edinburgh mind you :)

  • Beautifully filmed.....makes me proud to be a part of Glasgow!

  • @MattAlexan Thanks, Glasgow is a really unique and great city.

  • Thank you for takingus on another incredible journey.

  • @LKathyRunkle Thanks for watching the video, I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

  • Positively melancholy film.

    I love the vignetting.

  • @naramovige Thanks :)

  • Another beautifully shot video, but it's not really an abandoned place.

There use to be a few small deer up there.

  • @OldStag72 Yeah it isn't abandoned but it is a place that is frequently overlooked in Scotland that I thought would be worthwhile to point out to see the amazing architecture :)

  • Lovely,as always. I am curious as to what trickery you use to enhance the color.

  • @chukcanuk There's not too much trickery involved, I use Magic Bullet Looks to edit the colour and tweak some other bits and edit with Adobe Premiere CS5 :)

  • Cemeteries - memorial and evidence of nations, history, and concern for the memory of those who smiled, cried and lived - creating buzz and quiet streets.

  • @reklim12 Thanks for the comment.

  • Brilliant work, thank you.

  • @Breatherable Thanks :)

  • Mate,Just wanna say i really enjoy your vids, Its great when i see a new upload from you. Just pure awesomeness!!! Its almost like being in a kind of post apocalyptic dream world if that makes sense, The music, The incredible shots you take, everything.

  • South Necropolis in Gorbals is well worth a visit...

  • @sofakingdrunk66 I'll maybe take a visit there one day :)

  • Thanks for filming one of my favorite places. I especially love the scenes that show the modern city buildings behind the old statues.

  • @LJdeHayward Yeah it's an interesting contrast, hopefully more people will go up and have a look at the amazing architecture there.

  • Hey man, got to say, i'm really impressed by the subtle cinematography this time around. The title shot immediatly hooked me in. The tracking shot at "1.32" was a great one. A lot of depth and colour. I thought it was going to get rather repetitive with all the slow shots, but instead of giving this a dark look. You really slowed it down and gave this place a change of setting. Gave it a sense of peace rather than a sorrowful reminder of loads of dead people. Very good.

  • @Venom5669 Thanks that's exactly what I was going for :)

  • love the dolly shots...great atmosphere...in buckets...excellent...really are professionally done.

  • @dick2478 Thanks for saying so I appreciate it.

  • Yet another great video. Didn't even know about this necropolis, thought it was a level on Sonic 2. keep it up!

  • @ewebug Thanks, I've never heard of that level? :-P

  • NIGHT SHOOTS PLEASE!

  • I have walked by this place like a million times but i have never set foot in it. I think i will now have to take a look around as some of those tombstones look amazing.

Great video as always. A like and share from me.

  • @lifeavoidit I was always the same, I'd walk past but never went until this video. You should go for a visit there really is some amazing monuments there.

  • I grew up a quarter of a mile away from here in Dennistoun.

Necropolis was apparently a druidic graveyard in the past.

    Fantastic video.

  • @greenmagoos Thanks, it does have some very interesting facts and rumours surrounding it's past.

  • Such wonderful architecture and a very serene location. The music was perfect for the video.

    I really enjoyed it

    Regards

    Paul

  • @Haycroft2 Thanks Paul, there really is some amazing and ornate architecutre here, the music is by The Northern Hemisphere you should check him out.

  • @WhoIsJimHardiman Thanks Jim, I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

  • Favorited and put in Favorite Travel Videos playlist.

  • @actionadventures Thanks I really appreciate it :)

  • I have no words! This place is magical and beautiful

  • @robertkalisz It really is a beautiful place with many of the pioneers of yesteryear buried here.

  • A "Thin Place" where one could seemingly reach out...and touch the "Other Side."

  • Scotland is a beautiful country, so many old buildings, they have great scenery. Great shots of the cemetery, just perfect with the sunset. Great video!

  • @VampMovie1 Thanks I'm glad you liked it, Scotland really is a beautiful country :)

  • Are you ready for this? To me dreams have no meaning just a collection of scenes and events being filed in our brain. About 3 years ago I had this odd dream of walking and driving through a cemetery. It remained vivid all these years because I know I was never in such a cemetery – up until now! The cemetery in this video is exactly the cemetery in that dream! I have never been to Europe so how could this be?

  • @PropagandaBuster Wow O.o It probably was an astral projection.

  • @PropagandaBuster Very Bizarre, maybe you were always meant to watch this video :)

  • @PropagandaBuster - A woman once dreamed of a mansion, night after night. She and her husband visited Europe on a second honeymoon and on their last day of vacation, she spied the mansion of her dreams. She asked her husband to stop-- and as she knocked on the door to the home, a manservant answered her, looking shocked. She asked about the house and it's history, to which the manservant replied there was a ghost, but she should know. It appeared SHE was the ghost they were seeing. (true story)

  • All is Quiet.

    Laid down, away from Care

    And the bustling challenges,

    The aching disappointments,

    The Choices.

    Laid down, planted

Like granite lilies and marble grasses,

    Still --

    All is Quiet.

  • @ETHIOLOGIST1 Thanks, beautiful comment.

  • @AbandonedScotland - Your images bring it out. Fine work, as always.

  • You've got some very dramatic images here! Scotland must really be a fascinating place to visit! Never been there-but, then again, although I'm Greek, I've never been to Greece either!

While I have vids of many abandoned places stateside, nothing like what you have here! But I'll get them edited and share them. For now-I do have vid posted of an abandoned turnpike tunnel you may check out if you get a chance.

  • @bullfrog1954 Yeah there really is several amazing places in Scotland to visit. I'll definitely check out your video :)

  • great video, I went to Necropolis summer last year. What a beautiful place it is. Great photography! :)
