Well I replaced my starter due to excessive wear on the gear teeth,so now the new starter is in and when I connect the battery cable to it it runs with the ignition switch turned off Yes it just takes off and will not stop till I remove the battery cable.I have replaced the starter relay still runs by itself I have even removed the starter relay it still startes running,i thoughtt it might be the ignition replaced it still the same old problem.Has anyone had such a problem themselves?? Help
Hey bro good video, what happens when i turn the key nothing happens? i just changed my starter with a rebuild..was working great for 2-3 weeks, last few days...when i turn the key nothing happens, just dead silence. how ever, after 10-15 min i am able to start it, luckly! Do you think its the starter? please write back
hi, my truck doesnt start, when i turn the key on it doesnt do anything, all the lights work ,but it does start when i do it straight from the starter, does any body know waht it could be?
It's an electromagnet that uses a low-current circuit (ignition switch) to close a high-current circuit (connected to the starter motor). You can't just run the main circuit though the ignition because that would be dangerous, so this is used as an intermediary.
It's a heavy-duty electromechanical relay. It allows you to switch/bridge high current(in this case, to the starter) by using a simple, low-load switch in a remote location(the ignition switch in the car)
You are good teacher. Thank you
