@jonel469 This B/W video was recorded on 3/4 inch tape on 9-22-1979 in Minneapolis. But it had deteriorated and was flaking when it was rediscovered. The video looks good because it was restored and enhanced by Rick Fuller and others in the early 2000s.

The footage is from "The M-80 Project," the first punk/new/no wave festival. It's supposed to be released on DVD soon by the MVD company.

And the bass line on Shrivel Up is ludicrously catchy.

Devo never got the recognition they deserved, and thats fine, they stayed true to their music and still are one of the most energetic and crazy live shows out there.

I have to respectfully disagree with you on this one. David Byrne & Mark Mothersbaugh were simply both on a similar wavelength. This happens all the time. It's not plagiarism when 2 people tap into the same idea at once. Brian Eno was a common thread connecting the 2 and probably contributed to some of the similarities as well.

It is not the film that is rare, but the performance- there are only a handful of times they ever performed as Dove the Band of Love, and lots of fans don't know these performances existed on video. So "rare" is a heads up to people.
