  • This song is so happy

  • This song makes me cry tears of joy.

  • Totally loving this version!

  • 47 seconds in... SO amazing.

  • @jumpinjoe88 5 seconds in its amazing

  • I want to dedicate this song to simoncelli's family and who missed him...

... and stairway to heaven to simoncelli, RIP.

  • some approximation of this version really should've been the album cut. james could be as beautiful as he was spooky.

  • im officially stoned just right, led zeppelin, a bowl, nice breakfast and some coffee. all i need now is the beach. ahhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • I love how you can hear the mic they dropped into Jimmy's guitar bouncing inside to the strumming. I'm sure at the time it was "ruddy mic", but to my ears it just puts you that much more in the room. Just sitting around, enjoying a pint while the boys jammed. Priceless!

  • I'm strangely reminded of my childhood as this music plays. It's a sad feeling.

  • enjoy and relax...... ahh this is a masterpiece

  • if plant sung anything "normally" it wouldnt be zeppelin. i fucking love the uniqueness of this band

  • great pictures........love roberts voice!!!!!

  • Is it only me who finds this song really low quality? i can barely hear it. But everyone else seems to think its fine so maybe its just me

  • @Greshapa it's low, but it's ok :)

  • WHERE CAN I GET THIS SONG?

  • This is the first time ive ever heard this song.

My mom just walked in and saw me staring at the screen memorized with a tear in my eye. This song will be played at my funeral

  • the triple neck acoustic that John Paul Jones plays is awesome never seen one before this tune. cool . rock LZ

  • i tend to ignore most comments on youtube these days...too many dumbasses! but the music is wonderful lol

  • what are the chords to this song??!!?!?!?!?

  • I would guess, and I mean GUESS, that one of the 8 people who don’t like this vid is already dead. The rest ain’t got long either.

  • soooooo good !

  • HEY JIMMY, I KNOW WERE THE BIGGEST BAND IN THE WORLD RIGHT NOW AND CAN PLAY TO 10,S OF 1,000S OF PEOPLE AT ANYTIME, ANYWHERE, BUT LETS GO PLAY DOWN AT THE LOCAL PUB THAT SEATS 30 PEOPLE AND RECORD IT ON OUR FAVORITE 1958 TAPE RECORDER!!!! ha!!! what a fucking joke!!! THIS AINT ZEPPELIN PEOPLE!!! the people on here who actually believe that this is zep are outta theyre minds!!!!! theres 1,000s of fake bootlegs claiming to be zep people, this is just another one of those!!! retarded!!!

  • @ozzyhead73 You're a fucking idiot for thinking this was at a show, this was at Bron Yr Aur most likely, and how many fucking people have you heard sound exactly like Robert Plant? I"ll wait.

  • @TheAeonflux1 im a fucking idiot! ha!! you fucking moron, they recorded only 1 album at bron yaur in 70, zeppelin 3! down by the seaside came outon physical graffitti released in 75, that album was recorded predominatley in LA, and LONDON! you fucking moron! last time i checked LA and LONDON are nowhere near WALES!!!!! OH and by the way you fucking idot theyre are no outakes that exist of them recording physical graffitti!! and whoever this jackoff is he sounds NOTHING like plant!

  • @TheAeonflux1 theyre are 1,000s upon 1,000s of bootleg recordings claiming to be "RARE" and unheard zeppelin outakes but 99% of them are absolute bullshit! ya know why? cause page wouldnt allow it! he closely guarded anything that zep put out! you actually think this sounds like plant? this sounds like it was recorded in a fucking tin can!!! why would they even record like this??? when they recorded seaside they were the biggest fucking band on the planet! why record in a tin can? fuckingjackoff

  • @ozzyhead73 This is on a bootleg LZ acoustic album called "Lighter Than Air." On the CD, Robert messes up the transition from the bridge/solo section into the verse and they stop playing to try the transition again...you hear Robert talk just a little bit and it sounds like Robert (to whoever edited out the break, good work!) This was probably recorded at Bron-Yr-Aur as a demo. Plus, Page was known to use small handheld recorders.

  • @connorbarrett95 why am i a fag? cause im not a gullible idiot like you and stupid enough to think this is zeppelin?? your a fucking fool!! this aint zep, what do ya think, they decided to play in a club that seats 30 people and bring a lame ass tape recorder to record the show? ha! your a fuckig idiot!!! when this song came out in 75 they played in front of 100,000 people in may at earls court in england!!

  • ATTENTION!!! THIS AINT ZEPPELIN!!! this song came out in 75 when zep was the biggest band in the world! they werent playing small clubs at this point people, they were playing to 75,000 people like they did in tampa in 75!!! your all friggin idiots if you think this is zep! you dont hear a single person yelling in the crowd or anything! the audio is horrible but you can still tell it aint zep!!! what a friggin joke!!! ya think they played in a 300 seat club or something? YOUR ALL IDIOTS!!

  • @ozzyhead73 check out the wiki on down by the seaside.

  • is this a cover? cause its not zeppelin playing it. for sure.

  • @ZoSoVirtuoso1 sh you child. this is without a doubt zep

  • the pictures theyre showing that are supposed to be of them performing this song were all taken way before this song came out!!!! this came out on PHYSICAL GRAFFITTI, which came out in 75, all these pics theyre showing are from the zeppelin are from 70 to 72!!! where was this recorded? they were huge by the time THIS SONG CAME OUT!!! SO THEY WOULDNT OF BEEN PLAYING IN SOME SMALL CLUB SOMEWHERE!!! i dont even think THIS IS THEM!!!! THIS IS NOT ZEPPELIN!!!

  • @ozzyhead73 Wow are you dumb hes just putting up pictures of them playing their acoustic songs not down by the seaside.

  • @ozzyhead73 your a fucking douche bag

  • @MrSpaghetti2 1st of all ya got a lot of balls to be calling me a douche bag when ya have a screen name of MR.SPAGHETTI!!! HA!!! WHAT A JOKE!!! but i dont understand? why am i a douchebag??? cause i dont think this is zeppelin? if ya knew anything you would know that theres literally 1,000s upon 1,000s of fake bootleg tapes claiming to be zeppelin and it aint!!! and its just common sense, this song came out in 75 when zep was huge, they werent playing small clubs at this point! YOU RETARD!

  • @ozzyhead73 that may be, but still...you are a douche bag

  • wow. speechless...

  • KILLER VERSION, JUST WISH IT COULD BE CLEANED UP A LITTLE!!!

  • Chords ?

  • I love how the top two comments go together <3

    such a lovely lovely band

  • Interesting, I heard this recording on the acoustic CD "Lighter Than Air," but with pauses so they can explain the song to each other. So, if you took out the pauses, good job! Thanks for the post!

  • I like how all the photo's are accoustic

  • I like how all the photo's are accoustic

  • where was this recorded about and when ?

  • I know it's Zepp, but this sounds a LOT like '67 - '69 Beach Boys.

  • Yes this is the actuall recording from Bron-Y-Aur cottage that they made as they were working the song out. And yes it is an old hand held battery run recorder that page carried with him. I know cause I bought and have these rare recordings that I paid a lot for years ago. Enjoy it now via the internet....and why not.

  • я тащусь :)

  • GOD can I give my GF for BONZO

  • Beautiful pictures! Brillian song! the sound...uffff painfully nostalgic... i think my eyes are watery now

  • the sound could be tad better but apart from that, this song sounds really fukn awesome acoustic. very very nice. specially with Plant's beautiful soothing voice. i swear, led zeppelin was/is the definition of our life force. fuck yea they definitely are

  • JIZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!

  • If this is indeed real, and with Plant singing the line "people turn and go", I'd have to think it is. Then this may actually be from Bron-Y-Aur in '70 or Spring '71 (when the song originated). Listen to the recording, sounds to me like it's from and old battery-operated cassette like a TruTone....just one mic input (and those mics were soooo bad). And we all know there was no power at the cottage at Bron-Y-Aur. I'd say it's legit. And to the 'executive producer', I know where you got it.

  • They need to release an album of things like this!!! We are absolutely starved for Led Zeppelin alternate takes/demos!

  • This is the best thing that's ever appeared on Youtube....ever....

  • @jeff98211 yeah man i'm from Catalunya(spain) and I agree your comment

  • @jeff98211

this humble, not to be heard by anyone, home tape rehearsal, keeps drawing me back. jimmy is amazing, and that's how you know there really is magic in his playing. just incredible, and certainly beautiful, particularly towards the end.

  • This is just the groove they were in back in that period between 72 and 75.... There was miles of tape laid down and they used some and stored the rest.... The greatest quality in Zep is that they were all quality... Miles and miles of tape worth... The haters that bring up the heroin performances and the bad vocal performances are missing the point... This is as good as it gets....

  • anyone know if there's any seaside they could have been referring to, or got the inspiration from?

  • GODS...enough said..

  • Listening to this in Newport RI completes life

  • aaaaaaa....its beautiful ...juss an acoustic n ur frnd with a magical voice singing ...if u were a guitarist u cud juss shut ur eyes n keep strumming ..and nvr stop !

  • @raghavdodo please speak english

  • @BEATIT696969 PLEASE SHUT UP

  • @theberrybest PLEASE BLOW MY COCK

  • Someone can give the chords of this song in acoustic please ?

  • @TouffeDePoile essaye çà ; C: 332010 et F: X33210, G: X55430 juste avant le solo je pense que c'est AM: 002210

  • fantastic stuff

  • Excellent picture montage....

  • my version : /watch?v=GexmlfnVI4I

  • this is magical, so magic. great pictures

  • this isv for Connor

  • Ha Ha - Great - they used my photy - Kinetic Circus - Birmingham 1971

  • recordings like this make you feel like you're sitting in a room with the band, just havin a nice night

  • i LOVE it!!! theres so nostalgic about this recording! its beautiful! btw the pictures are depressing. i love zeppelin

  • this is great. too bad the sound is saturated and the mids make my speakers freak out.

are there two guitars on this? or is jimmy that good.

  • @elruchito He's that good.

  • look at robert's hair

  • I don't know what it is but this just sounds so right. It's like they're sat under a tree in the coutry with the acoustic guitar just singing in the sunshine.

  • just love the sound and zeppelin all together....favorite band..real music...long live zeppelin

  • Good times...Good times...

  • I love all Zep. And I dont want to burst any ones bubble but this song is not a enviromental song . It is all about their occult background . Either way this is a awsome find

  • this is a treasure

  • theres a remastered crystal clear version of this on my page i edited

  • erhm... NOT an alternate tuning folks. It goes C to Fmaj7 and you can hear him hit the G treble note on Fmaj7 before he goes back to C during the intro... and the solo is Amin penatonic. Just a shitty recording. They didn't roll up Mic Jagger's mobile studio for this one. Q.E.D. BTW, Jimmy rocks my socks and I love, Love, LOVE this song!!! Zeppelin Rules.

  • nostalgic...simply beautiful

  • Zeppelin's only song about environmental pollution.........but people turned away! Perhaps if they wrote more like this one some folk would have payed more attention

  • @samosurfer74 i think you are forgetting "thats the Way"..

  • Their only environmental song that I know of! Go Green Zeppelin!

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It's hard to decide who should held responsible for destroying this awesome Led song: the guitar player or the vocalist....

  • @olimpio50 this is zeppelin playing in this recording bud

  • Love the audio. Jiggling the photos is a bit silly and/or irritating, though, if you really want people to look at them.

  • so CLASSIC OF PURE ROLL n a rock

  • Is this Yoko Ono singing?? Nah just foolin.. Plant sounds terrific~

  • you should make the video a kaleidoscope and so that we can experience the ultimate high of looking at that and listening to this

  • an insight for non musicians as to how a fresh musical germ sounds pre production stage

  • or have the ears to even percieve that the guitar is in an altered tuning? hence the overabundence of 'jangle' and relative absence of dynamics by comparison to what we are accustomed to from this timeless musical collaboration

  • @acoustic360 Hey dumbass.... I know all about alternate tunings and open tunnings ...I'm an accomplished guitarist who writes for a Guitar Mag...being in an alternate tuning doesn't affect the quality..doesn't make you strum like an idiot

  • @mjw9363 . Uh-huh, a guitar mag. What's that, "Your Grandma's Guitar Review"? By the way, I doubt the smartest kid in your elementary school would misspell tunings.

  • why be so vicious about it? who of you have ever created a song of such beauty?

  • genius guitar!!?? It's horrible guitar..period....Hey idiots..just played this for Jimmy Page and he has no idea who it is! Many can copy a voice but unless Jimmy went into a time machine back when he was 6 years old.......

  • You were the stupidest kid in your elementary class I'm guessing

  • @mobydick187 it's funny you say that in a way because I actually skipped 7th grade...so actually I was the SMARTEST kid in my elementary school

  • There is no mistaking that is Robert Plants voice. A very early and rough recording but authentic.

  • If you guys dig acoustic guitar stop by and check out a couple songs!

  • its an out take retard. and if you cant tell thats roberts voice than you are retarded. jeez

  • hey DUMBASSES...this isn't Led Zeppelin...geeze your gulliable......if you can't tell thats not robert plant that horrible rudimentary guitar playing should let you know...awful!!!!

  • @mjw9363 you're a fucking retard.

  • Good Lord, you're a freaking idiot. If you can't tell that IS Robert Plant, then that original and genius guitar should let you know it's Led Zeppelin. Another thing is that this song was originally acoustic anyway, so it makes sense that they tried and recorded it that way before they changed it.

  • @mjw9363 This was an early rehearsal!!!!!!! Nothing sounds good when its first made!

  • I love this video

  • I never understood why Jones used a triple neck, he never used the guitars and the mandolin in the same. In Ten years gone he uses the 12 string and the 6 string guitar so he could just use an acoustic double neck. Maybe he was lazy to change between mandolin and guitar.

  • He did it to try and outdo Jimmy Page.

  • i love the sound of an old tape recording

  • Me too.....there's an intimacy that you don't get from a polished recording

  • beautyful... always listen Led Zeppelin

    nice photos also!

  • Back when this song came out on album, I was sitting in my bedroom getting high listening to it and I reached a plateau of zen that became a defining moment in the memories of my lifetime. Long Live Zep!

  • Amen, It was a groovy time, glad I lived then, I send Karma to you, my fellow "Zephead"

  • Lol the first time I heard it I had a joint in my mouth

  • lol 1:30 Bonzo's gong was auctioned off for like 3 million or something. Bonzo is my hero because I'm a drummer too.

  • @williamq19 yay im jimmys my hero as you can see, because im a guitarist

  • One of my favorite songs

  • Does anyone know what Bonham is holding in his hand at 2:57? I didn't know he stuck around during their acoustic part in the concert

  • That's a tambourine! If you look at Page, he's holding a mandolin. That's a dead giveaway; Bonzo's smashing a tambourine to pieces during The Battle of Evermore, live 1977. Looks like Oakland, their last date on that tour.

He would also partake in Black Country Woman and Bron Yr Aur Stomp on drums and spoons.

  • it looks like a mallet... maybe for the gong... although it looks quite small. maybe for cymbal swells.

  • plant at 1:09 looks funny

  • proverbs 14:4 a fool's talk brings a rod to his back,

but the lips of the wise protect them... hmmm make you wonder......

  • Anybody know who manufactured JPJ's 3 necked acoustic? My goodness.....Mr. Quiet out-did Jimmy, ha ha ha ha. But, if anyone can confirm that seemingly one-of-a-kind guitar, I'd love to hear from you.

    OUTSIDETHEBOCKS

    Right here on the Tube

    Peace

  • Andy Manson

  • Wish ol' Bonzo was still with us.R n' R right now is so in need of a pick-me-up from a band like this. After 29 years gone,Im still holding on.....

  • anybody know what the name of the bootleg or outtake is, its taken from?

  • this is such a beautiful and relaxing song

  • wow this is fuckin awesome, nice acoustic sound

  • This is most likely from the Antrabatta or Cosmic Energy sets of outtakes with some out of period pics used for the slide show. Good editing job tho.

  • bad sound great song sorry -

  • Yah whats wrong with them and that 1973 sound! Get over it we are lucky to have it at all!!!!!

  • woooah!

  • one of my favorites

  • this is a sweet version.

  • listening to this song is quite the experience.

  • wow this is awsome!

  • The Final version sounded like it could have been on Abbey Road.

    Great song. Great Band

  • Are there any official releases of the accoustic version?

Can never get enough Zeppelin. The accoustic stuff is hidden gold that flows beneath the surface.

  • Beautiful but missing the amazing plucking riff that makes the original so amazing (at least for me). When Page launches into this riff and soars right up there with Plants vocals its impossible not feel emotional, and happy :D

  • this is a song you put on after a long night of parting and you need something to bring you down by the seaside

  • this is a song you put on when you're sitting on the beach with a good high, staring out at the waves

  • That was the best comment I have ever read in my entire life.

  • @rrp1984 beautiful comment

  • @rrp1984

    hahahaha! exactly

  • is this for sure zeppelin? doesnt sound alot like plant

  • I think that the lead singer for this outtake or demo for this song is Robert Plant.

  • sounds very Plant XD

  • Acoustic versions are always interesting. Bands like thise have so much variety in their music. Page is such a dynamic guitarist.

  • so beautiful

  • Oh man this is excellent. Thanks for posting.

  • does anyone know the make of JPJ's 3 necked guitar?

  • The triple neck was made by Andy Manson.

  • This version is sooo much better than the Studio version imo.

  • Why is this spam? It's your opinion, and I do love the peacefulness of this song.

  • I enjoyed this very much!!!!! Thanx for posting!!!! :)

  • Kicks!~

  • i think i like this version better than the original

  • I think this is actually an outtake from the Led Zeppelin III acoustic sessions at Bron-yr-Aur cottage in the spring of 1970.

It was refined and recorded for possible inclusion on Led Zeppelin IV ... but obviously wasn't used until Physical Graffitti.

  • Yeahh...maybe it is...since it was written in 1970

  • i like
