You know... I've brought a few fans to Japanese music through X Japan. It proves you dont have to understand the lyric to like the music.. it's all in how the music makes you feel.
This is the only copy of this song on youtube that doesn't make him sound bad on the high notes. Its hard to get rid of that screechy mic interference and static when you want to still be able to hear the screaming crowd in the background.

that's called visual kei or visual art. Metal-rock band in 1980s-1990s were normally into this stuff (even in america), and this determined nowadays jrock style. Their visual kei indeed was very powerful in presenting the band's theme. They were beautiful. And this song is so sad, for the pianist/drummer's dead father....
