It is really good to have a broader insight into the life in Zim beyond the headlines and pure politics. Culture is often ignored by mass media and yet it plays always the most crucial role.

Mugabe is a victim of white racism. He is an African hero who fought for the independence of Zimbabwe from the whites. And the whole of Zimbabwe is being made to suffer by the west just because Mugabe initiated a fair distribution of wealth amongst whites and blacks.

He didn't redistribute wealth; he's only passed wealth from the wealthy whites to the wealthy black elite.

The ordinary Zimbabwean is no better off.

Hi Biggy56, I agree that Mugabe was an African hero, in his role as a freedom fighter. His role as a leader since independence has been far less than heroic.

I agree that land distribution was vital in Zimbabwe, but it was horribly mismanaged, and rarely benefitted local black farmers.

I also agree that Zimbabwe has been unfairly treated by the West, especially in Western media, and the country has received only negative and derogatory coverage from most Western reporters.
