  • Make sure that there is a rubber o'ring gasket on the oil filter and smear some new oil round the gasket before fitting.

  • 12:57 WOAH MITSUBISHI COLTS CAN OVERTAKE 0.o?

  • 12:20 You shouldn't do that over the grass because if it gets into the ground it contaminates a huge amount of water. Always do it over pavement or concrete so it can be wiped up if necessary.

  • 10:00 a turkey baster workers just as well

  • 12:30 captain planet is going to punch you in the face

  • You guys are crap at this - u made so many mistakes!

I am happy, however, that u used Nulon products, they're the best!

  • where can i get the engine oil flush?

  • @TimOfDoom Your local auto parts retailer. I used gunk motor flush. I drained pretty much all of my oil and added new cheapo oil + the motor flush just to see if it would make a difference...it did. When I drained it, the oil I put in that was brand new turned blacker than coal in 5 minutes. I highly recommend it

  • @TimOfDoom come on mayte, are you seriously that derpy? Autobarn or Super Cheap auto will hook you up

  • @WizardxOfxBongs u seem like a bit of a faggot

  • @MistaShaydy YOU WANNA FIGHT, CUNT!?

  • @WizardxOfxBongs im on hawaii so we dont have autobarn or super cheap auto

  • Never saw this part! 4:09

  • 6 people didn't master the oil nut trick.

  • You guys always get manuel love it, and even if you do get an auto you convert it :P

  • Do you need your car running when changing your oil?

  • @UltimateHackr Dear god no, never run a car without oil in it. Just warm it up beforehand - it makes the oil drain out more easily since it's less viscous when it's hot.

  • @UltimateHackr Do NOT have your car running when changing oil. It's a good idea to run the car for 5-10mins of standard driving to get the oil warm and drain/flush better, but when draining or replacing oil, the car MUST be off. Running a car with no oil will kill it.

  • IT"S A FUCKING MIRA!!! hahahah

  • I don't have jack stands right now what can i use instead?

  • @meandkg get some jack stands.

  • @meandkg humans

  • is normal to put water straight from the tap like that?? I heard it's not good for the car as it causes corrosion. And that distilled water should be used instead.

  • wtf! The dislike bar is like lady gaga's dick, small and souldn't be there(:

  • Its a GTR

  • Handy little tip: The heater hoses run from the block, and behind the thermostat.

If you want to flush your cooling system without taking your thermostat out just take one off, put a hose into it, run some water and start your engine.

    Done.

  • You really phenomenal

  • i cant get my oil nut off aaahh!! i need to drive down the road to get some better tools ad have no idea what the impact it will have on my car :|

  • anyone ever use seafoam? what are your thoughts on it?

  • I suggest not wearing gloves while changing hot oil, I had oil flow onto my glove and it just burns your hand until you rip the glove off. Also if your oil goes all over your starter when you take the filter off, use a piece of cardboard and make a little ramp for the oil.

  • Top stuff. Gonna do this all myself (minus power steering for me) to my awesome second hand car.

  • you didn't say that you need to put some of the new oil on the seal of the oil filter and you only do it up by hand

  • o is this the cybertron attacked afro driving tallest guy in the world bangladesh taxi car?!

  • hey abt the power steering. did u jst suck the old fluid out from the top and put new in?? thats it??

  • awesome video guys!! keep it coming!

  • "Looks like something you'd use to impregnate a goat"

You guys never cease to impress with classic aussie humour

  • what's the best way to get the oil filter off ?

  • @meimidget beat the fuck out of it with anything you can find until it finally gives up.

  • @meimidget stick a screwdriver in it and use it as leverage to twist it off. noshit, just watch out for oil when you put the screwdriver in..

  • THUMBS UP IF YOUR A MEMBER OF THE MIGHTY MODS FORUM!!!

  • he forgot to lube the rubber o ring on the filter

  • that thing sound like me in bathroom

  • Would you suggest spreading fresh oil on the oil filters seal?

  • I can't help but notice that the new fluids going into the car are from Nulon. Sponsorship? or are they that awesome?

    MCM Approved? :D

  • you forgot to lube the oil filter gasket and check for the old gasket is stuck on otherwise byee bye engine

  • i though that u never change transmission oil??

  • hey guys few questions: what do you do with all these rides in your videos? and please do a how to on headlights, installing them, and shit like that.

    great videos guys.

  • At the end, when he droppes the hood something falls out of the bottom.

  • Where can i get frozen goat sperm?

  • 4:27 lol EXPOSED.

  • Marty you got over taken! 12:54

  • where do you but these cars from and i will buy it from you

  • impregnate a goat with lolfish!

  • I'd never run engine flush. It can remove large particles and can block oil ports. All major car manufactures state that engine flush product will void engine warranties. Oil is the only thing that should go into the engine IMO.

  • Martin, spark plugs are not fluids, please remove them from this video.

  • I would suggest running the engine up to temperature/ until the thermofan kicks in to ensure that the thermostat has opened, the coolant level may drop when this happens. Good way to help ensure there are no air pockets left in the cooling system and also that the thermo fans are coming on when they should.

Top up as necessary and replace the radiator cap :D

  • 12:52 you drove past my house :D

  • 5 people got punched in the face by Captain Planet.

  • when jack up a car do u need to set the handbrake?

  • 11:08

    Is it a math lesson?

  • 'That's a very oily tool you got there Martin' - THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!! haha

  • lol at bipolar impatient driver on the schizoo-bitshi overtakage during test drive...

  • follow-up comment:

just wondering, is it normally recommended to top up the new oil filter 3/4 full of the oil you'll be using in the car before install? also, you guys ever use the old "magnet on the oil filter" method to collect any metal shavings in some of your older cars? they say it collects any shavings and stops them circulating in your system, any experience with that?

Sincerely, a curious person about to go 1st-car car shopping enquires with the masters of the backyard carshop :D

  • i hope one day you guys buy a car with the wheel well chock a block full of unopened rubber band packs.... or could that prank off on us for making us think that... either way, would be funny as hell. awesome vid :)

  • One thing I noticed you guys missed is to rub some new oil on the oil filter gasket and to wipe down the old face on the engine.. this makes a proper seal to the gasket face and easier to take off next time...

    Apart from that.. great vid!

  • why run one heat range colder and premium fuel, and what is pinging?

  • @419HYBRID To know what pinging is, you have to know what octane in gas does, I will PM you the details in a second :)

  • @419HYBRID Hrmm :l So I try to click on your channel and it isnt availible. I guess I'll just uhhh. take up like 12 comment boxes :l Nice set up you got there with the whole not being able to PM you. BUT ANYWAY.

As I'm sure you know, spark plugs make a super high-heat spark to ignite the fuel and air mixture in an engine, in high performance engines, this spark is hotter, and in economy engines, it is lower. Octane is a grade of how fast the fuel will burn, so (continued in enxt comment)

  • @419HYBRID

Having high octane fuel (like 94 or 91), will mean the fuel will take LONGER to ignite, so it will work better in a high heat performance engine. When you put low octane fuel (like 87) into a high performance engine, the fuel burns very quickly in (quicker than intended) the cylinder, and this quick combustion basicly produces LESS power, LESS torque, LESS fuel economy, and will wear your engine faster, that is pinging. It is essentially putting (continued in next comment)

  • @419HYBRID low octane fuel (fast burning fuel) into a high heat performance engine (burns fuel fast). The reason they used premium fuel in a lower heat spark plug is to create more stable power, torque, and it helps decrease engine wear a lot.

  • @elegeto thanks for explaining and sorry about the PM thing.

  • u r not supposed to fill the coolant with tap water...

  • hey guys great vids and use have a great personality lol makes it easy to watch ur vids haha i have a question... it may seem a bit noobish but oh well... i jammed my bonett closed and now when i pull the lever to open it it dosent unlatch itself is there anyway i can unjam it? or will i have to take it to a mechanic? thanx for the help much appriciation :)

  • um i never changed my gearbox fluid :(

    power steering either :(

oil i do and filter as well.

  • hey maarrrrtin how much did you pay for the car trailer?

  • you forgot to line the oil filter seal with some oil

  • WTF WHY THE FUCK WASNT THIS IN MY SUB BOX???

  • @DirectEditz samee

  • WIsh my car was as easy as this to do the spark plugs. Damn soobie engines. Took me 3 hours do them all 4. first time though. but still haha

  • Few pointers guys.

    1) Oil will drain better engine is HOT. Allow oil to drain for at least 20 minutes.

    2) Prime the oil filter seal with some clean oil by dipping your finger in the bottle and smearing the oil onto the rubber seal.

    3) Disconnect the return hose and use start/stop technique for a much better way of flushing the P/S. Have to be careful not to let reservoir run dry though.

Otherwise great episode, though the cost of all those fluids was probably more than the car!

  • Gearbox oil is the most foulest smelling crap in the world.....

  • CAPTAIN PLANEEEET!!!!!!!!!

  • Boom! More cool stuff from MCM, useful stuff to know!

  • Stop haten on them

  • I take it you guys like Nulon?

  • That "quilt" looks like a shop cover you can get at a local car place here in the states. We use it to lay over the fenders so we don't scratch them up while working on the car.

  • I thought the race video was suppose to come out instead of this video

  • *send to

  • Overtaken by a COLT. lol

  • did i just see you put the oil filter on without wetting the oil seal first? tisk tisk

  • how much should the plugs be torqued to???

  • @nanocg8

Usually around 18-20 ft lbs, but it differs from one car manufacturer to another.

  • @nanocg8 Spec depends on the car, and you should consult your owner's manual if you are not sure. Personally, on my honda which as an aluminum head, I tighten it until it gets firm, then 1/4 of a turn more.

  • BBWWAAERRR

  • from turbo mods to fluids. gg

  • The song at 6:25 is too good. Well done!

  • @mightycarmods You forgot to draw attention to the copper washers from the oil plug and gearbox plug. After a few services they thin to much and need to be replaced (yes, i've seen the fact that your washers are not made out of copper, but they should be)

Another thing you forgot to mention is removing the water-plug from the block if you want to drain all the coolant inside the engine. It is there and most of the time is hard to access (even harder to open)

  • what happened to your showcar? do you stil have it?

  • Not sure if was mentioned somewhere in the comments...

Many cars will not bleed out the air in the cooling system through the radiator cap. Find the highest point in the system and look for a bleed screw. Sometimes it's labeled, sometimes not. Some engines also require priming the water pump by adding coolant to a bleed screw near the pump.

The important thing is, do some research before you start.

  • what happened to the fiori?

  • 4 ppl got punched by captin planet

  • In Italy we call it: "TAGLIANDO"!

  • 4 people ride push bikes...

  • @snowyseb

    my secret is out :<

  • That car at the end was smashing to get off the exit!

  • seafoam the car before you change the oil!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • funny how so many people adore you. to me your just my next door neighbours... >:D

  • 03:26....Pop the boner??

  • SWEET!

  • @mightycarmods hey guy just one thing when bleeding the radiator you need to made sure you turn the heater on full hot and max fan so that way your coolant can get into your heater core just thought id give ya a heads up only cos you didnt mention it keep up the good work guys

  • @d4rkice12 Depends if your car has a heater tap or not. Many heaters have the coolant running through them all the time so you don't need to turn it to hot.

  • @mightycarmods

Yeah and besides turning the fan on will do nothing at all for the process.

  • @d4rkice12

There is no need for max fan, just set the heat control to full hot. The fan does nothing to help bleed the radiator.

  • @d4rkice12 also when bleeding the system, after you have filled up the radiator, run the the car (heater on depending) til it gets to operating temperature (no higher than half way on the temp gauge in the car usually) or until the radiator fan turns on cus at that point the thermostat has opened and any air bubbles in the engine block can escape via the radiator and then top the coolant up. Duno if this applies to all makes and models but yeh lol. Keep up the good work. You guys are awesome

  • yet, another great vid. GODZILLA APPROVES!!! i would like to support you guys in some way. please let me know the paypal account i can send some funds to. thanks

  • @godzillasballs Very kind. If you'd like to show some support you can grab something from the MCM shop which is MCM url with /shop on the end of it. Cheers!

  • @mightycarmods i was one of the first to sub the channel, show support and send me free stuff ;)

  • I thought u guys were dead, but then u come back to life yet again!!!!

  • Man, I dont even really do cars, but I love your show anyway

  • Oil magnetic pan plug mod!

    Proper maintenance here!

  • Please make a video on how to install turbos and nos kits, that's would be awesome. Also, great video once again.

  • first song ive ever purchased. WOW.. Moog your awesome dude.Keep up the good work.

  • Nulon oil, tap water in the rad. Ohh god. Hope you don't do that to your subi. Also you should put oil on the filter o ring and also replace or re anneal the copper washer on the drain plug or it will leak.

  • someones been makeing a quilt martin.... hahaha CLASSIC!!

  • Love you guys, but I asked for a BC install and you said the show car build wil cover it. What happend?

  • as well as putting oil on the oil filter gasket, you should clean the surface where the filter goes too.

  • i got punched in the face by captain planet :(

  • Bottom radiator hose looks like a heater hose LOL! Don't use Adelaide tap water when topping up!!

  • @madmaxrules *Addendum* if you have a rain water tank, get water out of that. do not use the tap. the tap water here in adelaide is really only good for a flush. do not run adelaide tap water in the cooling system!!

  • @ralliartfanevoix Probably best not to use Adelaide tap water for anything to do with your health and well being too LOL

  • Not sure if you can get these over in AUS/NZ but I would recommend a haynes manual. it's like having a best friend who knows what he's doing. :D

  • When are we gonna see the Silvia vs the liberty? :D btw guys thanks for another great vid

  • 3 litres of coolant lol, my commodore takes 12 litres.

  • @ocauTMM Small car, small radiator. commy's are huge (compared to this car anyway) so im not surprised.

  • When you go to put the new oil filter on just dab your finger in the old oil and rub it on the gasket on the top of the oil filter, this will prevent the gasket snapping or breaking when you screw it on.

  • @out2awnser also makes it easier to remove on the next oil change.

  • Should of hosted Top gear Australia

  • so good!

  • @mikool7 nor did they gap their spark plugs

  • @okel91 pre gapped.

  • @mightycarmods mmm cause its impossible for the gap to change after production because they put a piece of super strength 1mm cardboard around it during the transport process and the people who deliver stuff are always so smart and have never dropped a box in their life before, right?

  • 10:13.. hey moog

  • Thought you were suppose to use distilled water when diluting straight coolant?

  • @hybrid214 depends how good your tap water is :).

  • For cleaning hands laundry powder works as well as hand cleaner and better than soap. But get it in any cuts it stings like shit!
