I was a convoy escort that provided security for KBR convoys. We ate at KBR chow halls. Took our laundry to contractors. Many, many jobs that the military has trained soldiers to do; our government has brought in civillians and paid them 4 times as much as they would a soldier to do the same job. This has been the biggest war proffiteering since wwII. WHen truman fought tooth and nail against it. Now we have Bush and Chaney whom both have ties to companies in Iraq, making billions in taxpayer $!
My father would be turning in his grave. The army and government should be held accountable for every pen, eraser and pencil. I met a soldier that came back from Iraq and he said that the war is a scam for construction dollar thievery.
Easy to see why Republicans wanted to block any investigations, it's a little murkier why Dems would agree... Until you discover that Sen. Diane Feinstein's husband got a $50 MILLION contract to fix electricity in Iraq (which is still not running...) who else is lining their pockets?
Winston Churchill is quoted as having once said: "Most people, sometime in their lives, stumble across truth. Most jump up, brush themselves off, and hurry on about their business as if nothing had happened." Just as a bell that has been rung cannot be "unrung", the annoying problem with the Truth is that, once you learn it, you can not "unlearn" it
'In the councils of Government; We must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, ether sought or unsought, by the Military Industrial Complex.
The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist.
We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes".
"Experience should teach us to be most on guard to protect liberty when the Government's purposes are beneficent. Men born to freedom are naturally alert to repel invasion of their liberty by evil-minded rulers. The greatest dangers to liberty lurk in insidious encroachment by men of zeal, well-meaning but without understanding."
—United States v. Olmstead, 277 U.S. 438, 479 (1925) (Brandeis, J., dissenting)
I believe the PATRIOT act was subject to the same last-minute switch (by Republican staffers) the evening before it was voted into law. This kind of manipulation ought to be a criminal act.
A march to the steps of Congress is needed. Rep and Demo are just names. We are all humans and we are all capable of being bought. Its is up to everyone of us to know right from wrong. And act upon it!
OMG YES a thousand times yes! Why are so few people doing anything about these goings on? Are Americans blind, deaf, dumb? I would have thought doing away with Habeus Corpus would shake them up. Nothing. business as usual. Why?
Sky, because most Americans are "asleep". If you try to tell most of them the truth, they put their hands over their ears and say, "I don't wanna hear, I don't wanna hear!" They are too comfy with their houses, cars, TV, nice clothes, sports, and Miller beer to care.
Exactly what vigilance77 said. We are too occupied with our own lives that everything we should be worried about is ignored. Unfortunatly that is the very reason why our government has been able to get away with so much b.s. People wont do anything until it hits them at home. sad
if u take the bill of right seriously u would grab a gun and take power back from the brainless wankers u call ur politicians. If Nremberg laws after WW2 would have applied for any american president, 90% of them would have been hung,... but as long as america makes its own laws, who cares about USA ? I only do because US of Animals may affect me. U know plans to dehumanise the military completely till 2020 ?! then USA would be able to fight wars without dieing soldiers wonderfull isnt it ?
Or believe that the truth of the matter is the truth doesn't matter anymore. That's what they would like us to believe. Terry Yeakey was a good man google please
War profiteering is mind-boggling!Halliburton/KBR/Blackwater has approximately 100,000 people in Iraq. Nobody knows for sure. Our troops are paid $20,000-$35,000 per year. Halliburton/KBR/Blackwater people are paid $100,000-$160,000 per year to do the same jobs, Now you know why Bush needs so much money for his buddies. This is the most obscene, sickening case of war profiteering in history. It's mind-boggling that our system of checks and balances has been so horribly undermined
well, how convenient...

"The drive of the Rockefellers and their allies is to create a one-world
government combining supercapitalism and Communism under the same tent,
all under their control. Do I mean conspiracy? Yes I do. I am convinced there is such a plot,
international in scope, generations old in planning, and incredibly evil in intent."

The Magna Carta (The Great Charter) was signed at
Runnymede in 1215 by King John, at the demand of his barons.
This Great Charter was a landmark for the preservation of the
rights of Englishmen.
The Magna Carta is said to contain the origins of the
Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights. Written in
Latin, its English translation reveals to Americans the struggle that
is not new to our people. In 1215, the struggle against
government's tyranny and oppression
