I had heard they released a new album but I didn't know what the album was called! Found it yesterday at my local music shop, and just about shit a brick.
The picture reminds me of Peter Pan because how he lived in a tree trunk, and Captain Hook gave him a ticking bomb which had a clock on it, and it exploded is place. So the clock, tree trunk would represent that. And the raven or crow would represent Captain Hook.
People need to learn to respect a band changing their sound. I agree it sucks sometimes and it can cause someone to dislike a "new" sound. I mean hell, I've been in the same boat but that doesn't make me hate the band or say they suck because obviously they don't. Remember folks, they made those older albums too. I still love everything these guys release and SOAPF was no different.

@Chinafarmerz umm... all metal is evolved from ROCK... this sounds like metal.. it sounds awesome.. plain and simple... imo there are plenty of better songs than cloud connected.. thats a good one..on R2R.. Black and White, Free Fall and even System were better songs aesthetically speaking.. don't get me wrong Cloud Connected is a good song.. but definitely FAR from the best they've ever made. Jester Race, Dead Eternity.. and even this song would be well above Cloud Connected.
@MrMrFreddy I agree man. The song "A New Dawn" really is a rough song for me emotionally still to listen to, because it means so much lyrically to me from recent events. Appreciation is the best way to thank them for this album.
In Flames seems to be the only band that has three sections of their fanbase.
Old In Flames fans / Old & New Mix / In Flames 2004 and on...
Anything Pre-Reroute to Remain are masterpieces of a band in the early stages of actually "Maturing" as a band. Anything past 2002 is inferior, and that they should remain as teenagers, or in the early 20's.
Fans who respect the new material, and the old. No argument here. Then fans who like only new material. Always getting into war with old fans...
@4stringedninja I'd personally put System or Dawn of A New Day ahead of this song. Not that this particular song sucks, it doesn't, and of course they have great songs from Jester Race, Whoreacle, etc..
Those two songs just seem to do more for certain individuals.

I feel this album has really matured since a sense of purpose i personally think. Guitar wise, and especially in Ander's voice. I just wish people would stop giving the band crap for "changing". No band stays the same over time, and I also wish they would just give it to Bjorn on still trying to give us new music for us to enjoy. They all took their time on this album and Bjorn really busted his ass on it for writing all the music for it without Jesper. So at least be thankful that he tried.

@CynicalBrony I don't really care for Ropes, The Attic, The Jesters Door, Liberation(though it is similar in sound to Come Clarity), Attic and Jesters Door have some interesting points and to an extent Liberation, but altogether.. I just dont feel those 4 songs belong on the album. But I am all for In Flames experimenting as they are all extremely talented musicians.. and I cant think of many other bands that can do what they do. So I'm happy that they make such awesome music

I don't know why people can't just follow a band and watch them change and grow. It's not like they've forgotten the older stuff, they've just expanded. Metallica still plays stuff off their first album, and it sounds amazing, all bands play their old stuff, and it's often better with their growth then when they first recorded.

@xana1133 i saw trivium and in flames play a couple of weeks ago with trivium headlining, matt heafy kept saying how if in flames didn't exist then neither would most metal! in flames have recorded 10 studio albums, trivium have done 5. trivium are amazing and my favourite band, but in flames are definitely up there with them

I'm hearing bout this @CannibalCorpse909 dude all i gotta sayis that when u've been beautifully bellowing and screaming your voice out like that it kinda takes a toll to the person. It happened to Slipknot and Linkin Park just to name a couple. Try singing metal (I know LP isnt metal) for 10+ and see if it doesnt fuck up your vocals. The dedicated bands that are still singing for us...be fucking grateful that they are
I have been a fan of In Flames since their very first album and throughout the years they may have changed a bit but they have stayed true to Metal and I personally don't think they have a single bad song. To me they are one of very few bands who have never disappointed

Why does any of the people claiming this is not In Flames think they have the right to do so? In Flames has made this piece of art, and therefore obviously mirrors what the band sees as being 'In Flames'. They ARE IF, what they make IS IF. You guys don't have a say on what kind of music they should produce, or should be regarded as IF, they will decide on that. You might not like the softer songs, but stop claiming this is not IF, thank you.

I'm hearing bout this @CannibalCorpse909 dude all i gotta sayis that when u've been beautifully bellowing and screaming your voice out like that it kinda takes a toll to the person. It happened to Slipknot and Linkin Park just to name a couple. Try singing metal (I know LP isnt metal) for 10+ and see if it doesnt fuck up your vocals. I have been a fan of In Flames since their very first album and throughout the years they may have changed a bit but they have stayed true to Metal and I personally don't think they have a single bad song. To me they are one of very few bands who have never disappointed
