Steve would be the last person to use autotune, especially in an intimate concert like this.

  • steve earle is a fucking badass

  • My God I still love his voice, and recognize it instantly

  • This reinforces my commitment to Steve's music. I have followed him for years...but seeing him raw like this...man. Steve...you had me at "."

    Peace...

  • I like his glasses. Anybody knows what is?

  • "Just because no one's after you is no reason not to be parinoid." (Steve Earle paraphrase"

  • nice to see even the professionals fuck up.....i dont feel so bad....

  • @freeman2545 Been covering Steve, Guy Clark and Townes for years and until just now have always felt like I was committing a crime whenever I made a mistake (I know - Townes was a train wreck performing half the time but still) . I have seen Steve live many times and have never seen him make a mistake. I feel somehow better now as well.

  • Thank you Steve for "This City". Absolutely beautiful and so true. From a New Orleanian.

  • The boy who never cried was my favorite song as a child, my how he has changed.

  • Steve Earle is one of the last great American troubadours. Conscience and conviction. No compromise, no excuses. Thanks Steve.

  • is that contry?

  • @RedostarFirst It's what country should be, in my opinion. I 'want' to like 'country music', I just can't identify at all the shit that is the high revenue country music

  • @RedostarFirst ....not really in the truest sense of the genre.....his music is influenced by lots of other sounds...but he can play a more traditional country sound...if he wanted....

  • @RedostarFirst ...you might wanna go hear him playing with the delmcroury band....

  • he sounds like drunkyard

  • Enjoyed it.. Thx

  • "we used to make records for girls now we make them for nerds" hahaha love it

    steve earle is incredible

  • I've wanted to be a musician every since I can remember, but Mr. Earle made me want to be a songwriter; I love his music, his voice, and his glasses! haha

  • I heart this, and the Tiny Desk.

  • thank you npr. You send me wonderful jewels for my ears.. AND THANK YOU for not cutting out the beginning... His songs portray common emotions.. but the start of this video reminded me even more he is human just releasing emotion.. unlike a lot of musicians you hear today. He is just a man with something he wants to share.

    thanks.

  • i will play you on my station mr. earle!

  • He's awesome in The Wire!

  • So when can we expect one from his son?
