@ knapper2000. The Choctaws in Oklahoma have a ground in Tushkahomma. The Green Corn has yet to be celebrated as it is small and not many "members." We hope one day to be able to do this as we bring the traditions back to the Choctaw.
Does the Choctaw Nation still have ceremonial grounds that perform the Green Corn Ceremonies with fasting and purification with a medicine man. The Muscogee Creek Nation still does and I was just curious if the Choctaw Nation did.
Spend more time loving the Divine (all things) and singing His/Her/Its praises than doing anything else.
Put real passion and intense emotion into your worship, and worship as frequently as you can, in whatever ways your circumstances permit.
Stop hanging out with people who are fixated on wealth, status, and negative emotions; start hanging out with people who are high on the Divine Spirit.
Get picky about who or what you rent your mind to
@adburgett23 My Grandmother was half Choctaw! My Grandmother lived in Oklahoma until the Great Depression and Dust Bowl hit. Like the movie Grapes of Wraths moved to California! We did not know our heritage until we were in our teens! Back in the 1960s it was a no no mixing races! And our parents worried about the backlish of not only being Native American but also our Father being a Okie! Now we are proud of your mixed heritage.
Well let's see... in mississippi there were: Biloxi , chickasaws, choctaws, houmas, Natchez, Ofo, Quapaw, and Tunicas. So an Indian in mississippi may not necessarily be a Choctaw although it's the only recognized tribe there right now.
I'm half Choctaw, very beautiful clothing I know is all hand made, great music and dance. Very nice video thanks so much for posting. Peace to you my Native Brothers!
Although I'm in no way claiming to be of Choctaw ancestry, I have a great respect for that tribe, they raised money for my ancestors during the great famine, here in Ireland.
just because you live in Mississippi doesn't mean you have choctaw ancestry you also have to have documentation i have documentation and photos of ancestors from the choctaw nation of Oklahoma ..just sayin lol
@BLACKCHOCTAWNDN17 That's true but some people here think that which is stupid. My great great great grandmother was a full blood Choctaw, or that's atleast what my family has told me. I don't look Indian I probably have more Irish.
@VanillaPlox You know what does a choctaw Indian look like if your of mix heritage or not... my choctaw last names are tubby,McDonald, Brashear, Durant .... You can see that a lot of Irish and french people in there but the Choctaw people helped the Irish and french people Survive on their tribal lands and they gave them thier last names and mixed in their families!

Why did choctaws, quapaws, and cherokees women get stuck with the long VICTORIAN skirt style? We quapaws got the apron wearing down too!
