Why is it that pakis can't keep & appreciate their talent when they're in pakistan? The best leaves for India or anywhere outside pakistan asap? Abida jee hands down, singing since 1977 a career of 34 years and going, after the great Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali gone your the only main sufi assest in the country. No doubt that Rahat is one of the best singers of today not only in Pakistan but in the world but he is till not yet on the same level as the great Abida Parveen and what can you say about Sonu, he is marvelous in his own way!

I have to agree with you. I´ve been lucky enough to listen to Ustadha Abida jee LIVE and I was blown away cause sitting at the front, I could feel the "vibes" of her voice almost pounding towards my chestpart. It was surreal and very difficult to explain what I felt, I still haven´t understood what it was but all I know is that her voice goes through your body into your heart. A complete sufiana experience.

I feel blessed because I also got to chat with her, she´s SOOO....

..SO EXTREMELY humble mash´Allah! She actually took time to talk to me and some others who had been waiting for her in the lobby. Also, her music....if one understands the words...it goes even deeper and you find yourself pondering on the meaning for hours. Sufi music isn´t for listening, it´s for experiencing. And you don´t even have to be Muslim to FEEL it´s message. It´s universal and just soulfood I guess.

Yes it would´ve been nice if they treated the Pakistanis nicely too. I´ve seen your same comment under most of the vidz about Pak singers now.....and I just want to say that you´re about 25% right but the rest is all about money and hiring singers/talent Bollywood knows will give them great cash in their wallets.

Otherwise, quite many shows have treated the Pak talent really badly. Not to mention what happened to a legend like Rahat sahib on the Indian airport. Some respect huh?

Everyone is praising the greatness of these singers. But I found something very interesting. Abida Jee starts singing part of the famous qawalli 'Mann Kunto Maula'. She has sung this qawalli before; so has Rahat. So when Abida Jee requests Rahat to pick up on her, he had no difficulty. But Sonu, I think, was caught off-guard when Abida Jee asks him to pick on her. But he manages remarkably by picking 'Iswar Allah tero naam . . .'. Indeed sign of a great singer.

If u make Rahet ji stand next to Sonu and tel him to sing in western style, Rahet ji ll simply say PASS to SonuNigam. No Indian singers as wel as Pakistani singers have got the guts to sing western songs with the Legend Sonu and also currently nobody can bring such a divine melody like what Sonu brings out from his voice.
