  • i played this for my grade 4 flute.. no offence to them or anything, its really amazing. but i could play this when i was 11. on the flute.

  • @Penguinify1 SAME!! Omg thats the exact same as me!! :D (but i dont play anymore.)

  • why is the pianist always forgotten??

  • Excelent sound and interpretation! You will soon become a famous musician

  • that's it I quit... being half korean isn't gonna help me enough! :P

  • i jizzed my pants

  • It's incredible, I have this piece at home on a book, but it's really difficult... i play piano when i was 6 years old, i study 7 for seven years, but i can say now that piece it's really fantastic, but for play it u must have fingers like some canarins, i'm italian... excuse me if i make some errors into my rude english :-)

  • great! sounds like she has the tone down and everything. I would have her work on her breathing next and making sure she has her phrases down. Otherwise, very good. Good accompanist, too, for how young she is. :) Ensemble was overall good. Keep playing!

  • this is 100% amazing... i am speechless.

  • love it!!!

  • きれいな音ですね。ちょっとフレーズを切りすぎかなって感じですが、とても丁寧で音楽の表情や流れを感じられて、気持ちよく音楽に浸れました。いい先生につかれているのですね。

  • i love this song i play whith my flaute this is fantastic

  • beautiful! i love this song. i did a recital for this song too. I noticed the flute added a trill on the end..lol

  • That girl on the piano was fantastic!! And the flute player was great too. I'm currently learning this on clarinet for solo competition. I have to memorize it...:/

  • i have to learn it on clarinette, too (for my a-levels), but i hate it:P

  • is it just me or was that just incredible? what the hellll !

  • Learning this on the clarinet to play for my boyfriend.

  • er..the flautist is positively ordinary compared to that younger confident pianist..how good is she???!!

  • I'm learning this.

  • I love this movement. I played this briefly for my high school concert band.

  • beautiful!

  • bravo niñas

  • very nice

  • whoa. 11 year old playing this is...amazing!

  • I'm playing This whoole Sonata for Districts next year and for all city.

THis is very nice, but her phrasing is a bit off.

For 11 years old this is wonderful.

  • I think she played this amazingly for an 11 year old. I didn't play this and the other two movements until i was in college.

  • Comment removed

  • Well done :] same criticism from me, breathing and phrasing is a little off, but well done again! I think Dominique is brilliant. She's only nine and she handles each piece very well.

  • wow, she plays this a lot better than me, I need to work on this piece a lot more so it sounds as nice as this one.

  • Beautifulll

  • Mmm I want the sheet music for this.

    Great work.

  • She is ok. I am also doing this piece. She is not really that good, about average for most grade 4 or 5.

  • how can you say that?

admittedly, the breathing and phrasing is a bit off, but for her age her tone is very good :)

  • good tone doesn't make her a musical genius. She is perfectly good, but she is not one of those asian mozarts you always hear about.

  • dude are u serious? at her age, it's almost amazing how her diaphragm is so well controlled and her tone is absolutely amazing. It is rare seeing young girls at her age playing with such rich tone. You can criticize her phrasing but you cannot criticize her musical talent.

  • I am not criticising her, i am saying that i have met hordes of flautists who are just as good as her. She is good, but far from singular.

  • I would agree with some points; she is very good, and certainly in a minority of talented 11 year olds, but not prodigous.

Really really well done, though; no way I could have sounded anywhere close to that when I was that age.

  • Her few errors have nothing to do with her having innate talent. Her errors are solely technical ones. Just because she doesn't have technique mastered doesn't mean she's not a prodigy. She very well could be a musical genius, mentally speaking. The same goes for the pianist. You rarely can judge one's innate musical talent from their proficiency with a specific instrument.

  • I totally agree; I wasn't speaking of innate potential so much as current, visible proficiency. As far as the eye can see, she is simply an extremely talented and learned flutist. She could be a musical genius, as you say, but doesn't play like a prodigy by my definition; by which i mean someone who sounds like a professional at a young age.

  • tone has nothing to do with age

  • I have to do this for my highschool exam piece, but on the tuba

  • hermoso!

  • come on tho the pianist is sooo talented!! 9 yrs and plays with such fluency!!! she rox!!

  • i have to play this for my college audition next week haha ive been listening to as many versions of this as i can find:p

  • Wow...

    this is amazing!

im playing this piece for my college audition on monday.

    this helped me a lot.

theses girls are incredibly talented, keep up the amazing work.

  • robotic children

  • AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • beautiful....keep up the hard work

  • I played it too... It's really nice the way you play!! (as usual) ! But, I didn't like some breaths you took... :/ Awesome playing anyway!! :D

  • You can hear that the girl playing the flute is going to be awesome when she's older!

I do wonder where all these Chinese player go though...they don't turn out to be famous/teachers?!!

  • Why do people assume anyone asian is chinese?

    It really pisses me off

  • I think a lot of it is they can't tell the difference?

It's like them calling me American, when I'm English

  • Well, it's hard to distinguish, especially at that young age; from what I've seen up to now, I'd rather call them japanese, or korean.

  • @KoyaFish ikr?! they're definitely not chinese, the youtube account name is jumgkim2020. "kim" is not a chinese last name

  • @KoyaFish It's America's ignorance.... they think we all look the same.

  • @KoyaFish and it really pisses me off when asians assume that America is a country.

  • kim is a korean last name.

  • Kim can also be Chinese, Viet, or Khmer.

  • I think she is Korean!

  • from what i can tell, she is Korean

  • siciliano isn't really a tough piece.

  • I remember this when I was about twelve or thirteen. My private instructor and I decided that this would be my solo for UIL and I placed with a first divsion. I'm 47 now, and I miss thoses years and what I could've become.

  • These are some seriously skilled kids. I didnt sound that well on flute until about or years of practice. Very impressive, I hope they continue their musical education further.

  • Oh dear, it messed up my comment. I did not sound that well until about 3 or 4 years of practice.

  • wow!

  • ooh i played this for my solo recital but it was the second part of my solo. i played sonata 2 and then siciliano

  • Indredible impressive!

  • Very nice!! I've been listening to other videos of Dominique. She has quite a nice technique; much promise. How much does she practice a day??

  • Very nice tune the flautist has a bright future ahead of her.....Same with the pianist GREAT!!

  • you played it very well for your age! it should have been played a little slower though, but other than that, it was fantastic! especially for your age. i am 14 and i am playing this song as well.

i am playing this on cello for an upcoming solo contest.

  • And you are not a nerd :DDD

  • It sure is the second movement, "Siciliano",

from Johann Sebastian Bach's Sonata for flute

    and keyboard in Eb, BWV1031.

And it is one of the best performances i have

    heard, any age.

  • I think he means that there are doubts that the sonata is by Bach. It's probably written by one of his sons. Regardless it's a great sonata whoever wrote it!

  • If you mean Johann Sebastian, his sons were also Bächers. :)

  • lol, well yes if we are being pedantic...

  • Um, it's a slow, Baroque dance movement in 6/8 time. It's a Siciliano.

  • Don't be ridiculous. The tempo was perfectly fine. Even if it wasn't, she is the musician. She has the right to interpret the music in whichever way she chooses.

  • Oh, I wasn't criticizing the performance! The performance is great. My comment was in response to someone who had said this wasn't a siciliano. I don't know why my response looks like an independent comment....

  • My mistake. Criticism's fine. It's just that, for some reason, your comment "sounded" almost condescending, but I guess that was my imagination! I get very passionate about their playing sometimes. Heh.

  • Yeah, I see how it does when it's not attached to the original comment. :-)

  • Wow, very nice for your age group! However, I think it could be more slower. Sounds like a march if it is played too fast :( VERY NICE SOUND ON FLUTE AND TECHNIQUE FOR PIANO! THUMBS UP FOR BOTH!

  • Too fast ...I like it slow. And it keeps getting faster because the pianist rushes....

  • great jespecially for just starting yrs ago. i my self have been playing 4 2 years and am 1st chair. keep playing!!

  • beautiful beautiful! i love this song...it's such a wonderful song to play :)

  • The pianist is flawless! Very Good! No comparison for the two..ok little ones? Different instruments played differently...;)

  • She has a nice tone (Flautist). Little pianist is exquisite! Very good! Now, Constructive criticsim: Be careful and take note on attacking "La" on Bar 3, specially the "Do" on bar 5. watch out for breathe marks. AND practice support - the use of diaphragm. I knw your only 11 but it would never hurt to practice at an earlier stage. Practice your long tones with support + vibrato. Summing-up...Its good for your age but I will push it for more. Good Luck little ones! :)

  • Beautiful Job Dominique.... such rich and beautiful sounds....such smooth transitions! Very lovely job

  • i played this for NYSSMA 4 years ago and got a 26 out of 28! i love this song

  • they re really great

  • they are excellent!!

    I also play the flute

  • wow!!! how long have they been playing? :] I wish I played that well when I was 11.

thank you! Yes, I am very dedicated :]. I'm gonna go see their other videos now.

btw, I myself live in southern cali :]

  • She's been playing the flute for almost exactly 2 years now. She picked it up rather quickly. She does have a good musical background, as she's been playing the piano for 4 years. (a video of her playing Glinka's "Nightingale" is on my channel as well)

  • wowie ^_^, she's really good :) I'll go check it out :] thanks!

  • @MiyokoxClarinetti I wish I played that well NOW, much less when I was 11. x.x I listen to this over and over again...they played it so beautifully!

  • woah, they are really good :O especially the flautist! How old are they?

  • The flautist is 11, and the pianist is 9.

They are sisters. Have you watched the rest of their videos? You play the clarinet! I listened to some of your videos. You seem very dedicated to music. Welcome all comments.

  • wow :o I wish I could play the clarinet like that when I was 11 :/ how long have they been playing?

mm not yet, but I'm gonna watch them now ^_^.

thank you!! :) yes, I am very dedicated to music :).
