  • The only problem with H9500BD is it's based on old DarkChip 2 (DC2) - worse colors, contrast, sharpness than with DC3 (720p H5360BD is on DC3 - strange policy by Acer...)

  • @WelcomeToPoland

I've had DC2 equipped higher end projector (Mitsubishi HC3800) and lower end DC3 chip projector (Optoma HD67N) and the former sweeps floors with the latter when it comes to image quailty. :) I agree, DC3 would be nice but I wouldn't worry too much about the chip, it's what's around it that matters.

  • Well... EU is rich, we have EURO, no crisis like in the US, old people live in EU.

So all 100" plasmas and 72" LED/OLED TV's and cheap projectors go to the US only :)

  • @WelcomeToPoland

All politics aside, it's pretty steep price discrimination between different projector brands. Acer is taking the Panasonic route. For example: Epson EH-TW6000 (1350€ = $1723) vs Epson 3010 ($1795), equivalent machines, price in Europe only 95%. Acer H9500BD (1999€ = $2551) vs $1699 in US. Whopping 152%! Not a hard choice.

  • @habakoski

Right now you can buy it from NEWEGG for $1,439.99 w their promo code!!!! I can believe on that rip off price in EUR !

  • @habakoski

Without the promo code is 1599 ;) I bought it for this price which is still 100 bucks below.

  • @kforbgbg

So the euro price is 177% currently! Thanks for making me sadder than before. ;)

  • @kforbg1

My thoughts exactly! I don't understand why it's a billion dollar machine in Europe while it's relatively cheap machine in US:

  • @kforbg1

It is available in the U.S. You can get it at Newegg, CompUSA, TigerDirect and Amazon.
