  • How old are they?

  • I'm kind of curious why there are Asian dancers at a Russian academy? Not that I'm against Asians doing ballet (I'm an Asian and I do ballet) but I thought Bolshoi Academy is a government supported school...? Like the ones in China??? Are the girls Russian citizens or is Bolshoi Academy a private academy so they can accept them? Thanks...

  • Is that girl at 2:30 Margarita Shrayner?

  • 4 etoiles had find a ballet accademy better than bolshoi and marinskiy

  • how old are they?

    they are gorgeous

  • I will never get my arabesque high like that

  • that asian at 5:10 was gorgeous! nice feet and legs.

  • so so so soooooo beautiful ^^ so strong and graceful. love it that they all look healthy too :D

  • omg the girl at 5:50 almost falls! thats the kind of thing that you can only get away with in partnering, and it still looks obvious. she is very talented, but she would have fallen on her butt without the guy

  • The dancers are gorgeous. Such wonderful technique. And that studio is incredible!

  • how old are they? they dance like professional dancers! :)

  • haha at 0:54 the guy looks like hes looking at her ass!! lolol

  • @livismilesful he's keeping her on her leg..

  • they make me wanna get up and dance! i wish tmrw was here so i can go do some ballet (:

  • there are so many benefits ballet has for the mind and the body. it's astounding. the sheer strength and agility the dancers have whilst remaining graceful is incredible!

    how i love it!

  • I wish I had windows in my dance studio...atleast ones that go outside.

  • Where is this? and they are absolutely stunning!

  • @VSdreams101 russia...

  • Has anybody else noticed that they seem to group by race? Most of one group is white or european and the other group is consisted of JUST asian girls? Doesn't that seem weird to anyone?

  • @esydoopey

it could be that one group consists of the normal students, and the other one of the guest students, who are there for only a year or so? and all guest students are asian?

  • @esydoopey

it could be that one group consists of the normal students, and the other one of the guest students, who are there for only a year or so? and all guest students are asian? i don't know it though, but this is a suggestion.

  • @danceinhamburg

Asians now dominate at the world's big ballet competitions. If a girl or boy won, then she/he has her choice of where to study for a year. I'd really like to see more students from South America, the Pacific Islands, the Middle East and Africa, as these countries are really under represented in dance and need all the help they can get.

  • The girl on 2.30 is very pretty. Love her legs. I wish I could dance like that. (Sorry for my failing grammar, I'm dutch)

  • Oh my goodness, they look beautiful and graceful when they're skinny, but I still wanna feed them!!!! D:

  • @oopsjustsayin Can you not see their muscle tone?! You don't get muscles like that from not eating!! Anyone who trains all day six days a week like they is going to be slender - and very very strong!!!

  • @LaLuLolly Hec yeah! I wish I had a body like theirs._. I can't stop looking at their backs, they're all so toned.. what I meant by my previous comment is simply that I'm not used to seeing ppl this slim. It's not an insult b/c they're beautiful as they are, but they ARE limited on a lot of things they can eat (like models). All the who, I agree, they're VERY strong!!!

  • i loved it amazing!!

  • Nothing more beautiful than young dancers working together.

  • the girl they are focused on at 2:30 has amzing long legs and feet!

  • i totally agree with you... her legs are beautiful!

  • What pointes do they use?

  • BOLSHOIBOY I totally agree with you on that and everything you said.I'm black and native-american and have great techinque and the pefect slim petite body for it but feel color still is an issue today.STILL.It's the elephant in the room and some whites will make you feel weird or even racsit speaking from experience I know.

  • Not true.I', african american and dance ballet and just because other races than white choose not to dance doesn't neccessarily make the whites that are majarity racist but I can \understand your frustration and opinion becuase I have the same frustration about how I do feel asians, chinese, puerto ricans,african-americans and etc need not to be looked at funny or made fun of because it's happened to me and some are actually racist.Some.

  • why are there so many asians in a russian ballet school?

  • I just love PDD classes!!

  • Ballet is far all races and both sexes!!

  • no ofense but the chinese looking girl has a very ugly partner :)

  • @smileyfaceshameonyou how do you know she's chinese, she might be even russian.... They're called Asian descent... Btw there are a lot of them which one r u talking bout?

  • Well seeing past comments has amused me. But from what I've read most Asians have longer torsos, which is probably why you do not see many in the Vaganova because they tend to have shorter legs (I am Chinese too and I know an amazing dancer with quite short legs, but she is nevertheless breathtakingly gorgeous at dancing.) but the Vaganova has it's fair share of Asians. And remember, these schools are in Russia and I'm sure they're quite expensive and many people are unable to afford tuition.

  • are they wearing makeup? if i wore makeup in my school i would be slaughtered

  • What brand of pointe shoes do they wear? Is it a personal choice, or a schoolwide requirement? Thanks!

  • @fashionballetNYC5 most of them wear the Russian Pointes and Grishko, but some have Gaynor Mindens on

  • That was amazing

  • omg they are dead talented...

  • This is really beautiful(:

  • @BlindbyBeauty it's probably the shoes.. i believe they're wearing a brand of shoes called 'russian pointe' and they're like SUPER hard.. so they tend to make a little bit more noise till they're broken in...

  • @porcelain100 Actually, Russian Pointe has a very soft box, but you can get a hard shank.

  • some hard landings xD

  • I love this it's so inspiring, what dedication can do for you along with amazing teaching

  • is this the summer intensive?

  • my school does that same exact reverence at the end of our classes too!

  • how many hours a day do they practice?? are there several classes...like in a school...a normal school?? or is it just like...a few hours?

  • i know that at the perm ballet school in russia they dance from 9:00 am till 9:00 pm... so they have many different classes of ballet in a day. the bolshoi is probably similar to that

  • its several classes, they have about 6-7 classes. like in school

  • do you have film of this levels boys ballet class??? like 14 years old class.

  • How many years have these students been doing pas de deux? Do they start in the 6th year, or the 5th year? :) Just wondering. They are all beautiful together. Also how old would these students be?

  • probably 15 or 16 years old

  • wow, i shouldnt have quit :( i would have been able to dance like this, i think i might get back into it. Wow! this is amazing <3

  • beutiful!!! thanks for uploading this!

  • everybody can study, just come to Russia pass exam, sign your contract, and just pay your money-go back to your country if you really good than you have chance if not (like Japan girls here) than open privat ballet school(and don't forget to tell everybody that you were study in Russia).

and that True, no matter what you will say or will write, i know a lot examples from vaganova accademy

  • hey wats wrong whih japanesse thay have a better chance than u

  • Superb! It was my childy dream...but I never could dance....

    Thank you....

    Enyarwen

  • may i ask about why so many asian girls attending the Bolshoi school? exchange??? =)

  • Comment removed

  • now, does it really matter what race the dancers are? they are accepted to the school because they are talented...

  • I KNOW... im SO FUCKIN SICK OF SEEING THESE FULL CORPS OF WHITE GIRL SWANS... THERE ARE HISPANICS, ASIANS, WHITE PPL, BLACK PPL. PEOPLE OF so MANY RACES!!!! IF UR TALENTED U SHOULDNT B LIMITED BECUZ OF UR RACE... UGGGHHH.

  • You have some serious issues that you need to work out. Ballet is a culturally 100% European artform, so it's obvious why most of the dancers throughout history have been white.

  • im AMERICAN... and there are MANY OTHER races that dance ballet... thats silly of u 2 say that because by now almost EVERY country including many african countries have really good developed ballet companies as well as asia and MANY countries in south america... there are Many dancers of other races besides whites but all u see is whites. and im not talkin bout history i mean TODAY.

  • @bolshoiboy8 things are getting better

  • no i have nothing against that. my best friend is asian and is a ballet dancer and is amazing!

i just thought bolshoi usually takes just russians thats all

  • my only guess is that they're trying to stay on top of the ballet world and accept the dancers with the most potential, regardless of where they come from. maybe the asian girls in the video are even russian citizens.

  • hahahaha omg, my comment actually was just a question... purely to ask since i have only ever seen one asian dancer in kirov.

oh well, just to say I am actually Chinese and i think ballet is for all races!

  • =)

    *****

  • @saritachan i tihnk they just choose really tightly coz i m from hong kong and i got accepted to the bolshoi ballet academy from this sept! for the 3 yrs course! :)

  • wow

  • it reminds me that for just one moment - perfection is possible
