it's a shame the weather turned on you, missing the sunrise would have killed me. I climbed a month after you and luckly it was perfect weather. I climbed to the 8th station in just shorts and a t shirt.
I would prepare for cold and wind/rain and cold nights on the mountain. Take a good pair of hiking boots for the descent (which is WAY harder than the ascent). I didn't use climbing poles or oxygen, but a lot of people had them. The poles might have helped on the way down for sure. I would leave around 6 pm and climb to the 7.5 or 8th station, sleep at a hostel and make the early morning summit as the clouds usually roll in around 10 am or so. Hope that helps!
