Rap may be music to an extent and may not be going anywhere but it has nothing on rock. Most rap today is synthesized bullshit and the only component to "good" rap is lyrics. Rock (like Chevelle) not only has good lyrics, but the coordination of guitar, bass, and drums simaltaneously... if one fucks up, the whole band sounds shitty. That's why saying a rock band is good speaks a million times more than saying a rapper is good.

I saw Chevelle live with Puddle of Mudd, Sick Puppies, New Medicine, Janus, and Cavo. It was a really good concert, but Chevelle's performance wasnt the best. The Lead Singers voice i couldnt hear, and there sound check wasnt set up right. but this is THE BEST song to snowboard to, i went today and they had this playing in the terrain park and i got like 15 feet of air off of a jump.
Their singer sounds a lot like Maynard from Tool and A Perfect Circle. That as far as i'm concerned is one of the greatest compliments someone can get.
I love all types of music.. I listen to different genres with my different moods i listen Joe Budden, Slipknot, Marcus Miller(jazz artist), lamb of god, T.I. , B.O.B., saigon, cannibal corpse, Jaco, John Mayer, Jack Johnson, i could go on for days. CHEVELLE IS A FUCKING GOD IN MY EYES AS WELL AS MY MIND. I can't believe god or whoever is god made this fucking badass band come to our life's. All there songs are artistic and emotional with a great impact on feeling and death as well as life in there lyrics. I don't know any other band or singer that has more of a impact on me than Chevelle. Dark Blessing to you Chevelle and may your voice and lyrics reach to new heights and fame.

i dont listen to modern rap cause it is bullshit, but people like, eminem and all the old school kids, were great.
