  • could you make this system into a circle?

  • Even Glass would heat up so you would need the laser to focus the light using another force. If you want a laser that powerful it has to be in a vacuum because the laser would heat up the air with in it and destroy the laser its self. Besides Lases don't blow up they only heat things up so you wouldn't blow up a plant. Maybe you could cut spaceships in half but no blowing up would happen.

  • Besides there is no momentum behind a laser so someone could build a shield devise to deflect the laser. The same goes for plasma weapons all you need is an magnetic shield to re-angle the plasma so the spaceship could remain unharmed. There will never be a shield that could stop a bullet though. The only thing that would protect them is armor but with armor the ship needs to be heaver and then it would make it self more fragile say if the ship turns to fast it would pull it self apart.

  • Actually, if heat expansion were rapid enough, you could explode anything. As a test, heat a frying pan on your stove as hot as safely possible. Then drop one droplet of water from above the pan. Try this a few times, and you'll see that not only will the water droplet bounce back up off the hot pan, but there might also be some small popping sounds from the pan flash-heating some of the molecules of hydrogen and oxygen in the water. It might even resemble a small explosion... @GeneticSupremacy

  • Oh, now I think I get it.

  • That should be a >=3

  • I wasn't getting the first Math part.. cause I wasn't sure what you were getting at, but I love your thinking. =3

  • wow! we could just infinitely concentrate beams until we have a super mega beam!...

    i'm clapping slowly

  • .......:P I'm sticking my tongue out at you... Derrrrrrrrr...

  • don't be stupid - goto school and find out why this is ridiculous

  • all this is demonstrating is basic math skills. People HAVE come up with this, and we learn it in grade 7

  • Interesting how You've chosen to exercise the one skill that takes the least amount of education and time to master - Criticism. Great Job, man! I'm clapping slowly...

  • Lamo! hahahha that will not work...

  • Phhh... Big deal... I know how to make a plasma gun that's much better than that. I need a microwave beam emmiter, a magnetic confinement coil, an electrical spark gap, a power source, operating equipment (a trigger to activate the MBE and Spark Gap) and a frame to hold it all together. Once I get those things, i'll make my plasma gun. I already has a frame, so I just need the rest.

    But still, awesome video!

  • Great! Are you gonna make a video of your plasma gun when you do a test fire? I'd like to see that...

  • You'll need more than that to make one work, because the plasma you make will dissipate as it travels without a stabilizing modulation, like a smoke ring. Right now that's all the info I can give to you, however this is a giant leap for you in this type of weapon.

  • The maser beam projects the plasma very fast, enough to hit the target before the confining properties of the magnetic field wear off, and the projectile dissipates.

  • Ive been mentally designing a plasma weapon for over 5 years now and only recently have I determined that the plasma density can not be maintained without a stabilizing modulation as lends us with a toroidal vortex (somke ring). Trust me on this one.

  • ...my god, you're such a Herdling.

  • Have you arrived at a theory of using a plasma medium for the suspension of micronic technology? In other words, suspending microelectronic molecules in a dome of plasma energy, molecules which perform a function such as cloaking an object that the plasma surrounds. If you've seen some of the invisibility technology that actually exists now, you'll know what I'm talking about. See the video titled, "All 3 of the Japanese Invisibility Jacket Videos ¤"

  • This wold require intense magnetic or superconducting fields in order to contain the plasma...transdimensional shifting would be more appropriate as monoatomic gold is known to do under certain conditions

  • elements such as the monatomic gold you mentioned facilitate the superconductivity b/c of better thermal dispersion, given less molecular mass of the element as opposed to its 33atom metallic form. More mass, more heat, more resistance. Less mass, less heat, less resistance. Thanks for mentioning this

  • I've been waiting for someone to comment on the left-hand side of the equation. Since noone has yet to do so, I'll make the correction myself. The left side of the equation should be F(x,y), for the equation to be correct.

  • Light as photons are charged quantum particles (as scientists put it) and can be persuaded in a direction with magnetic energy (CRTs do this). Plasma is also a charged energy, and that's how the Plasma gun works, increasing the energy of the laser (in a circle pattern) until it escapes out of a pocket against a wall to incinerate it (as seen on scientific channels as applicable design). Energy needed is huge though.

  • This design uses redundant localized power sources for each individual laser within the design. This enables the weapon to be fired quickly, since all individual lasers in this design fire simultaneously. No "build-up" is necessary.

  • Whether firing 1000-1mw lasers or 1-1000mw laser, the output will be the same and the "build-up" the same. The scientists have created a window of only 3 seconds of build up and the laser output is constant without needing another build-up phase. They can simply just make the laser more powerful to decrease the time, but I think 3 seconds is sufficient enough for humans...can't wait till BattleMechs! =D

  • What's cool is that these BattleMechs exist in the future I come from. See the video I just put up about Cerebrotek for info on how they're controlled. They can be constructed to house an operator, but it's just not done given remote control capabilities, and virtual interface.
