I took a train on January 26 from Boston and it had a P42. I knew they couldn't quite go 125 mph, but I was curious as to what they could do. I was quite surprised that it topped out at 108, which is faster than the published speed. The train was on time, as well!

I look foward to seeing them! Oh I forgot to say that it's terrible that Amtrak is installing E-Bells on their P42s. I like the E-Bells but on the Genesis series locos, not so much considering (in my opinion) they have the best original bells around. I'm just lucky Metro-North & SLE aren't doing this with their P32s & P40s.
