Anyone else notice the closeup of an eye around 12:31? Who do you suppose that is? Just some random person or something they were planning for season 3?
Poor Uncle Otto,........ such a good person, yet tormented by others. When he discovered that I was a technopath, he saw this as the perfect chance for an apprentice. Unfortunately Osborn was after me too. Uncle Otto is gonna get me an "Evil Genius" mug too.
@GregXB3 They did the same thing in the '90s series (Ock as Peter's mentor). Yeah, it was a little odd, but it worked well. Plus, there was the added element of Ock being legitimately crazy and trying to kill Spider-Man, whereas the Lizard isn't really to blame for his actions. On that note . . . not excited about Rhys Ifans replacing Dylan Baker. :/
@Leothiman Yeah besides it isn't shown here but the self-destruct actually worked here and would have killed off SpiderMan if it wasn't for the rule of cool. So if somehow they need to move and dispose of the hero in the process a self-destruct button is invaluable.
They never include the "Check please" gag, that's one of my favorite lines from Dr. Octavius next to him crossing his arms and going "Maxwell...." Then again I'm a totally Octopus fan.
Well, it depends on your method of doing things. Otto doesn't care about what people think about him, only that his plans are followed. So, he would consider Tombstone weak for letting something as silly as reputation hold him back, or at least in his mind.
Well Oct is more ambitious Tombstone, given his whole trying to take over the world plan, Tombstone is content to be a crimelord with a good public image. Looking at this, Tombstone has the better setup. If the police weren't useless Oct would be running for his life 24/7.
I love this version of Ock. Although I personally prefer Molina's version, the Spectacular version is undoubtedly the bested animated adaptation of Ock.
@GregXB3 Hmm, interesting point. I never really thought of that but you're right. Molina's Ock is like the Lizard. But yeah, I do love the Master Planner. It was definately cool to see that concept brought back for Spectacular.
He LOVES being a criminal mastermind XD

This version of the character is great, although I enjoyed Molina's intensity and more imposing physical presence more. :D

@IsaacGates Molina was great, but he wasn't written as the classic character. They kind of wrote him like the Lizard in the movie.

Why do supervillians always include a self-destruct in their base(s)? Are they that sure that someone will find it and wreck it?

@Leothiman Can't let your secrets be discovered by the enemy.

Tombstone: Too many witnesses, L. Thompson Lincoln can't be seen collaborating with supervillains and gangsters.
Doc Oct: Then L. Thompson Lincoln is WEAK!
Um, care to explain the logic of wanting to be a villain with good publicity means being weak?

@GAvillain Molina was great. But I like Ock as the Master Planner, straight out of Lee/Ditko. Molina's Ock seemed to be more like the Lizard to me.
