No. A fart can will sound like a fart can. Get a decent muffler and it will sound okay.
Look up hushpower, borla, and other respectable names. I don't know if anyone makes a full exhaust kit for your car, but you could have a shop fabricate one. Make sure you have a resonator otherwise you will get that raspy ricer sound.
Those mufflers are okay at best. If you want a muffler that will make any v6 sound badass check out the SLP Loudmouth I. If you dont believe me then search v6 firebird, camaro, or mustang and slp loudmouth. I promise you wont be disappointed.
I was just listing a few non-fart can ricer mufflers, there are numerous brands that will serve the purpose. I like the deep sound of Borla mufflers and that they are not way out of anyone's price range.
BTW the OP is drivng a 96 avenger. That's who we are giving suggestions to. Even if he owns the ES model it's still a DSM mitsubishi motor. It will not sound like those cars no matter what he does. Don't give him false hope.
actually, this car has a 3.5 v6..so does the new g37, they sound completely different with exhaust work..this has a nice low rumble to it, but the g37 has a nice mellow purr..both very nice sounding with exhaust work, but very different from each other if you ask me

oh you mean the 2.5 6g73? yeah if you'd look in my videos you'd notice my old stratus..i know all about those engines, however the 2.5 isn't a DSM. DSM stands for Diamond Star Motors which was a joint project with chrysler and mistubishi..the avenger is a dodge that uses a mitsubishi drivetrain...same thing i know, but "dsm" is no longer around,

Why would that be? Oh maybe because Mitsubishi purchased Chrysler's share of the joint venture between DSM and Chrysler in 1995.
There were two options, a DOHC 2.0 liter which is a Chrysler motor like the one in the N/A Neon (but was also during DSM's involvement with the Avenger) or an SOHC 2.5 liter. The 2.5 made by Mitsubishi was designed by the engine maker...DSM. Hence DSM markings in the engine bay.
So basically if he puts exhaust on the 2.0 liter it will sound like a rice-y neon(not SRT-4 as that used a different motor), and if he puts exhaust on the 2.5 it will sound like a Galant. Still Import. Still my whole point. Still correct.
There's no way for his car to sound like this video and that was his entire question...

the point is, it's a domestic 420a 2.0L rather than the imported 4g63 2.0L like you were claiming, it will sound closer to this than the 6g73 2.5 v6 or the 4g63 2.0L i4...most domestics, with the correct exhaust work..have a a deeper exhaust note than imports...of course it won't sound exactly like this because your comparing a 2.0L i4 to a 3.5L v6..but it will sound a lot closer than the dsm 2.0 or the 2.5
actually when u go straight u lose some torque u gain my h/p in the higher speed but u have to reset ur ecu to get the performance i have all straight 3 inch untile the y and goes to 2 1/2 to hold some back pressure with 3.5 tips and also if u have stock tires with the straight exhuast u will pill out from 0 to about 40 i thought i lost power but then i did a test from 5 to 60 and i gained a shit load ur power band really kicks in at about 50 . also do u have the awd?
this was a mopar cat-back system with the resonators and muffler removed. i lost a great deal of horsepower with this, so i switched back to the original set up with resos
