@phattieg naw lets get serious fam lex needs to learn more from alot of producers even some of these unknown producers on youtube and soundclick is killin lex.
@308beatZ Thats cause Lex uses FLStudio, which a person with absolutely no talent can make a beat. I like some of Lex's tracks, but they literally all have virtually the same kit, similar chords, and lots of snare snaps. The day I see him rockin a keystation to do all his production, is the day I think I'll respect him a lil bit more. To me, FLStudio is so 2002, I been rockin hardware and Reason patches since, and don't need a VST to cheat.
@phattieg WTF are you talking about? You don't need a workstation (not keystation) to be a legitimate producer. The fact that you equate using a VST to "cheat" as a music producer shows you have no clue what you're talking about. It's not the DAW that makes the producer. Lil Wayne's "Drop The World" was made in FL Studio. Do your homework bruh.
@IversonG I've done my homework, which is why I am able to map out a sound using patches. I doubt you can say the same for yourself if you've been using VST's. All you know is sound, and not how that sound is logically made. Soulja Boy uses FL Studio too, but he still gets ridiculed for being a half ass producer. I didn't say FL was useless, I just said it was something a beginner could easily use. You should be willing to grow artistically, FL hinders that.
@phattieg Dude, EVERYBODY uses VSTs. Are you kidding me? Growing artistically doesn't work in one direction. Soulja Boy ALSO uses Pro Tools. So now what? Mapping out a sound using patches doesn't mean a damn thing. Your music can still be wack. All the good VSTs allow you to change a sound completely. What world are you living in where you think you can't make sounds in a VST. Your entire argument is flawed on so many different levels.
@IversonG How is it flawed? Let me ask you, have you used Reason, Logic, Ableton, or any other DAW? Have you used Record (for Reason), which has VST support? How about have you tried ReWire? Since you love FL so much, grow, you can still use FL as a master MIDI controller for Reason tracks. In either case, FL is limited, PERIOD, and it lacks Mac O/S support! Get with the program man. FL is useful, but limited. VST's are also useful, but limit you in so many ways. I prefer not using them. GROW!
@IversonG First of all, you're a flaming troll, because I have FL installed right now, version 10. I still know how to use it. You're a dumb ass for assuming I don't know this about ReWire. You probably don't even know how to fucking use ReWire. You want to get into a production pissing match, lets go! I challenge you. Otherwise, shut the fuck up, cause you sound like a limited ass retard trying to argue with me. Use what YOU want, I just prefer NOT to use FL anymore, nor VST's.
@phattieg Exactly. Your argument is based solely off your PREFERENCE Einstein. You can't make statements as if their widely held facts when in actuality you're making your own idiotic opinion known. I would LOVE to hear this dynamic sound you speak of.
@IversonG Listen, I will gladly show you, but the challenge is for you to produce something that shows me you have some talent. You attacked me first. You have 2 videos on your page that say "produced by IG3", but have been blocked for UMG content. What did you do, sample a whole instrumental? I don't use YouTube to upload my music, primarily because I'm too lazy to convert the songs into a video file for YT. I have 43 tracks soundcloud, everything from trap, rap, techno, DnB, and electronica.
@IversonG And by the way, I used FL from 2000 to 2005, then when I started using MIDI equipment, I found the limitations. It actually became counterproductive to my work. I still have FL installed, but I haven't opened it in a year or so. I know all the quirks with FL. I have enough experience with it, and VST's, to know what I'm saying is true. You can achieve more dynamic sounding instruments with patching.
@phattieg I like how you ignored the fact that Soulja Boy uses Pro Tools as well. And Yes, I've used them all. I also used FB from 2004-2006, and guess what? It's a lot f--kin different today. Your used of the word "limited" is fallacious at best. EVERY DAW is limited. Reason is limited. So is Pro Tools. So is Ableton. There are a million ways to make instruments sound good. Any REAL producer knows it's not the DAW nor the patch, nor the sounds, it's the person using them.
