Thanks for taking the time to do this Video, you look great. I have got the go ahead for the surgery so i'm just waiting to recv the date!! Hopefully Dec this year! Great seeing your Journey...has made me feel a little better hehe x
Can you tell me how long you didn't have feeling in your jaw? I am getting this surgery in June and I am looking to see about how long the recovery will be.
i'm gonna have to wear braces again. Already head braces for like 4 years, a couple of years ago. So at first, I really didn't want it. But now that i see your results, i've made my decision, i'm really really gonna do it!
HI , You look great after that, I had this done21 years ago whenit was not so advanced and was unable to open my jaw at all as was wired up for 6 weeks after plus 2 years of braces beforehand.
Hi Thanks for posting the video, you look great, your surgeon done an excellent job. I have an underbite, and I decided not to have the op, as I was scared. Now Im 30 I still want to have it done. I am looking for a good surgeon, is it possible to get the name of your surgeon and the hopsital you had it done in. Im in the UK. How comes you never wore braces, as I was told I had to.
Glad you liked the video. I had it done in Leicester with one of the maxillofacial surgeons there on the NHS. I didn't wear braces because the positioning of my teeth were fine. The orthodontic surgeon assessed my teeth first before the surgery.
i just want to thank u so much for putting yourself out there and posting this on youtube. i have had braces for 2 yrs now and just had my wisdom teeth removed in december in preparation for surgery on my underbite this summer. they've told me they will break my upper to pull forward and my lower to push back. i am so excited to finally be having it done but the sooner it approaches the nervouser i am getting. seeing your changes and your final outcome tho really help! thank you!!

Thanks for the compliment. No there is no permanent change to my speaking voice. During the recovery time only did my speech alter due to the braces & swelling in my mouth.
Hi (: Before your surgery, when you were just relaxed, did you sit with your jaws together? I am 14 and have an underbite and I always have my jaws apart, never together. I was wondering if after surgery when Im 16, if it will be more comfortable to have my jaws together? Thanks (:
Who's your surgeon? How much it costs? Can you use insurance to pay for it? Sorry, but i'm considering doing it right now. And i have no clues to chose which one is the best surgeon for that surgery.
Hi, have you noticed much of a difference to your nose? I'm having upper advancement of 5mm in a while and terrified about what it will do to my nose..
You look great! Thank you so much for sharing this video :)
My dentist today asked me to consider having this surgery to correct my underbite, it's a scary think to consider but it seems to have a great outcome.
How long did the healing process take for you? Were you able to do normal things like work while healing?
Thanks for the lovely comment ;) It took a few months for the healing but even now I still have some numbness on my bottom lip and chin but this was expected. I was off work for three months whilst I was all swollen and wired up. All worth it though;)
hey uhh i just wanted to no if u got the feeling back in your lip? because i will be having the same op as you and i just thought id ask if thats ok thnks
i wish i made a video of my op. i had my bottem and top jaw done. u looked alot better than me after my op, it was awfull. it wasnt too much pain actaully just more discomforting as you cant even attempt to eat it hurts too much and its like being a bby agen it just dribbles bak out agen . glad i had it done. my botem lip and chin is still numb after 2 years haha.
good luck dude.. its been 5 weeks since my surgery.. and i warn you man the first week is pretty bad i really dident think it was worth it.. i had my jaw unwired a week ago and i still cant eat lol thats probably the worst part rite now, not being able to eat food but anyways its all worth it in the end man just hang in there and good luck! remember these results will last you a life time!
Can I ask how you managed to get this on the NHS? I went to the dentist recently and I was told I'd have to pay for it privately as I am over 16?? (I'm 22 and live in the UK, with an underbite)
I had the surgery on the NHS because I also had extreme pain in the jaw joints called tmg and malocclusion, it wasn't just cosmetic. Hope you manage to get the surgery done too. By the way my waiting time was over three years.
Hi I'm 23 and I have braces on the NHS and I'm having my op in December also NHS. I have an overbite. My dentist refered me to the hospital where I qualified for NHS. About the over 16? my doctor made me wait til I was in my 20's and had stopped growing??
My sister is having this done for a sideways bite. I probably need it too, as with our father, but I'd rather live with the occasional click and soreness of my right jaw than go through yet another surgery right now.
My sister is anxious and fretting about the time she will miss out of every activity this summer, but I hope it will be at most as severe as yours.
Thank you for the comment. Just ignore the people who make fun of you. It's them with the problem not you. Hopefully you will be able to have the surgery in the future. I had to wait three years for mine. Take Care. ;)
hey, i'm 17 and i am going to be starting the prosses for this surgery. watching your video really helped drop all worries that i had. P.S- you look great. =]
hi :D im looking to have this done i was just wondering how much was the uk cost? i live in Ireland. *high fives* the results are brill! just like ur personality.
Thanks for the compliment. Glad you like the results. I had the operation done on the UK NHS so I didn't have to pay for it. The waiting time was three years though. Hope all goes well if you have your op too ;)
Hi (: Im 14 now and I have an underbite. My orthodontist told me I can have the surgery done when I am 17 and I've been looking at the op videos. Does it hurt alot when you wake up from the op? Also do you have to get braces before the op? Thanks (: The results of your op are great btw!
There isn't much pain straight after the operation, just uncomfortable. I had no braces before my op. Thanks for the compliment ;) Hope all goes well for you??
Well done, I have just had Le Fort procedure done in Rio 9 weeks ago. The top was moved 4mm forward and he lower 1mm back. To pain, no complications. Lost 6kgs as I was wire locked for 4 weeks.
During the healing process there was swelling more so in other places around my face, so the balance was uneaven but as it got better everything went into place. My mouth is now straight with no crookedness when I smile/talk. Hope your surgery goes well. ;)

well, it costs 30 grand here where i live and no insurance covers it and well, i thought about become a porn actor/male escort/stripper... but well, they pretty much told me that i couldn't...because of my jaw! oh the irony
yeah. mine is costing a lot! My insurance company won't cover it because they think it's cosmetic when it affects the way i speak, breathe, eat, and will become a major issue as time passes.

Hi. Awesome. But a have a few questions:
1) did you have an operation only on your upper jaw?
2) what kind of defect did you have?
3) why hadn't you had orthodontic apparatus before? For example i am during my preparations and i have to have it.
anyway thank you fot this video. It's very helpful and gives many informations.
ps sorry for my english (it's not my native language).
