  • AGH HA finished and hours to spare!!

  • great video thank you so much keep up the good work! :)

  • Thank you.

  • I think my video response is pure epic ;P

  • Yes. 32 seconds of pure epic! :)

  • I just tried to get to the Wargame Painting site, did they sell it?

  • Their website was always in flux. The best way to get ahold of war game painting is shooting them a pm, their email address is on their channel page.

  • oh alright

  • @Chef40k.... Left nut!!! LOL!!! good one Chef...

  • I've already had this discussion, the terrain I showed can be identified as area terrain. I'll give you an example, if I put a tree that could be removed from the terrain and said it was a wooded forest, would there be no issue? then why bother with the tree which will NEVER be put back in the right place as units move across it. Why bother with terrain that is uneven (like the GW crater) and will always result in laying models down and screw up LOS.

  • And if two units are in the same terrain, it DOES matter. The rule in the book is that if you have to take a difficult terrain test (even if you're 1" away) the assault is affected by the terrain as units stumble over branches or what not. It's why I specifically showed that terrain impacts you when you assault OUT of terrain. Assaulting into terrain is visually easy to comprehend.

  • ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm thats called difficult terrain not area terrain area is like the board.

  • Locbot.... area terrain is a terrain with clearly defined border upon which attributes (such as is it difficult terrain, does it provide cover saves) can be assigned. The confusion is understood as you have to navigate quite a few pages in the rule book to get all the rules governing area terrain. It's why I wanted to condense it all into one video for you all.

  • Ok Guys. Enough about if this is really area terrain or not... bottom line is that both players agree on what is and what isn't area terrain at the beginning of the game. My left nut could be area terrain if me and my opponent both agree on it! Doremicom was using this piece as an example to help you all.

  • I really hope people out there don't use peice like that as area terrain..........cover saves and area terrain is bad enough in 5th, to start calling all terrain area terrain your going to ruin the game.

In a real game, that white unit wouldn't get a single cover save at all........clearly the blue guys have clear LOS, and that piece has nothing that would differentiate it as area terrain such as a ruin or forest.

  • ok, take a breath. The rules for area terrain in 5th edition are clearly stated. I did not over state the rules at any point in time and I think you need to take a chill.

The reason this makes such great area terrain, is because you are not introducing terrain that causes issues with movement. The forest terrain with removable trees that you're probably used to identifying as area terrain is far more suseptible to ruining a game as the trees are not returned to the EXACT spot. Ruining LOS

  • MWGE,

In 5th ed this would count as area terrain.

    Terrain is terrain is terrain.

Yes they can be shot at, but if they are more than 2" into the terrain then they get a cover save.

Also its always important to discuss terrain with your opponent before the game, as to what kind of save it will give you, but if your counting it as difficult terrain then it would also count as area terrain.

    +1 for Doremicom

  • its a shame that youtube stops things like the round table

  • they haven't yet, but I don't want to give them a reason to.

  • I posted my response, its processing!
