  • brilliant

  • This song makes my dick do the sign of the devil, and when the tapping kicks in I get a righteous rockgasm.

  • I love how he does the keyboard part vocally. hahah

  • Trompe Le Monde was epic ! by far the best way they could go

  • this " CD "

    was quite " brash"

after Bossonova" ..a "Surf Epic" of Rock -N - Roll"

Quite " fitting " " in the obvious path of

    rock n roll destruction ..

    " Trompe Le Monde "

(this is ..........the planet of sound)

    :)

  • This song's only deficiency is that there aren't any Kim vocals. I sort of wish Frank would've let her do that little talking bit in the middle at the very least.

  • @crappybassist96 Oh, was this that time period where they weren't really speaking to each other, and he wouldn't let her use any of her own ideas on the songs?

  • @sorenkierkegaard2008 Yeah, pretty much anything post-1988 is that era.

  • what a voice hahahaha that has changed true the years . My screaming friend!!!

  • Too bad fatass and Kim had to fight all the time.

  • @JackBlair2 Implying Frank's weight has anything to do with his talent. If you're so focused on image, you should go listen to some faggoty My Chemical Romance or Avenged Sevenfold.

Frank Black is fat, whatever. He's also one of the greatest musicians out there.

  • Classic .... Old School

  • It was The Clash that made me pick up a guitar, but Pixies showed me how to corrupt it.

  • seriously...thnx pixies for making my teens fucking worthwhile

  • The way they started this.....the slow, spaced out/drugged out into....is amazing. It's only a few seconds long, but it's forever burned into my consciousness.

  • fool the world

  • @proffesornutbutter written on my wall :)

  • At 0:30 it sounds like an intro to a Rush song. I swear parts of this song were lifted from a tune by Canadian band Rush. Just can't put my finger on it...

  • This song has twice occurred, and now it's TIME TO GO AWAY ON HOLIDAY!

I'm not 100% sure what this song is about, but I do know that it's another Pixies song that kicks you right in the teeth. Black Francis really knew how to properly open and close an album. This and Cecilia Ann/Rock Music are my two favorite album openers.

  • Classic pIxies.

  • thankyou pixies, for saving my early teens from being shit

  • hail kabayan joey santiago! ;D

  • Who's the fourth person on stage? Or am I just hallucinating?

There's a person standing between Francis and Joey and playing a western guitar.

  • Joey's brother.

  • Okay thanks for the info :) I didn't know that he played with them.

  • indeed

  • This song might be the epitome of Black's genius.

  • @louieptuey Frank lifted the intro from a Rush song I can't remember

  • @louieptuey Epitome of the pixies' genius. All the band members get to display their virtuosity in this song- my favourite.

  • I like all the records but bossanova will always be the best in my mind ;); hang wire!

  • I am one of the few that agrees with you. Bossanova just put's me in that place!

  • hell yee

  • hmmm, not my favourite but it does have some fucking sick tunes =] stormy weather comes to mind

  • Comment removed

  • thumbs down because this totally isnt on bossanova.

  • look every pixies record is fucking kick ass leave it at that =-P

  • Hated every cut on bossanova the first time.

Played it again after many months and loved everything about it.

But after all this time, Trompe le Monde still does it for me everytime.

  • thats totally how i felt about bossanova when i first heard it

couldnt stand it the first listen or 2, left it alone for about 6 months, came back to it and loved it :)

  • is this even on bossanova? i have it on a CD called trompe le monde.

  • naww i was talking about stormy weather :)

  • i agree: while Bossanova is magic, Trompe Le Monde is wicked magic!

  • what about come on pilgrim?

  • i'd argue that it's

    doolittle

    surfer rosa/come on pilgrim

    trompe le monde

    bossanova

  • pretty much the same as mine, except i was never a huge fan of doolittle, so i put it as my third place.

  • Why does everyone rag on Bossanova? Its a beautiful record and is more Pixies than Trompe in my opinion.

  • I agree, I LOVE Bossanova. Hell, I love ALL the Pixies albums.

  • I guess it'd be safe to say... not to quote you on that one

    :)

  • Greatness niggers!!

  • Trompe le Monde, the PERFECT SONG.

    Pixies, the PERFECT BAND.

  • like the ending 'and now it's time to go away on holiday'.

  • they could record new stuff and if it wasn't up to standard just scrap it. I don'nt know why they havn't started to record a little.

  • Because Kim hates Chucky's guts, that's why. The only reason that she went out on the reunion tour was because she was just as broke as the other three.

  • thanks for the information Cruentus1 . I wasn't aware of that. Who is chucky?

  • Chucky? Black is really Chuck -- Charles Thompson.

  • why does she not like him?

  • They hate each other. That's why the Pixies broke up. It's a very well known feud in the music world. He didn't like her popularity, and substance abuse. She didn't like his controlling attitude. He tired to fire her, and then broke up the band, and didn't talk to her for 12 years. Google it, and see for yourself.

  • lol remember when he kicked the guitar at her

  • Exactly when and where did that happen?

  • I don't even know what I wrote here

can you quote whatever I said and I can reply

  • 'lol remember when he kicked the guitar at her'

  • oh ha

    it was in '92

frank got pissed off at kim and kicked a guitar that in a stand at her

it was pretty much downhill after that

google: a time for heroes- the pixies and theres a great radio interview about everything

  • Huh. I thought I read something recently that said they made up and were thinking of recording again.

  • i believe they abandoned the idea.

Frank Black is scared the record would suck.

  • It's the other way around, Fat Frankie wants to record, but Kim is against it.

  • They don't wanna mess with the myth I think... But remember "Bam Thwok" a few years back, and they've done 1 or 2 covers("Aint That Pretty At All") around the reunion.....I also think that a few tracks on "Bluefinger" were intended to be Pixies tracks, as he is credited as being Black Francis on that album..

  • Why the fuck were people talking about the Kennedy assassination conspiracy on a Pixies video?

Great performance. Everything they did was gold.

  • and now its time to go away on holiday!!!

  • How i can get this performANCE

I mean the complete gig...some link???

I tried with moninova and piratebay but nothin

  • whoa! Joey tapping?

  • At their prime there.... I wish they'd tour / record again...... If they made new material I'm sure they'd be a really valid band again.

  • well, blame kim for the lack of a new album....

  • one of my fave songs by Pixies ^^

  • lol in the most complimentary way possible it's hilarious when Black Francis tries to emulate the sort of "video game" noise on the album.

  • haha, actually i don't think it worked to bad, if you hadn't pointed it out i would've thought it was in the vocal part on the record

  • Yeah, that made me crack up... But I still think it was brilliant.

  • It's just like that interview with the ungratefull reporter who laughs at him. He then proceeds to play wave of mutilation accoustic and sings the guitar in himself!

  • 0_o is that on youtube? I've got to see that...

  • My favourate song by them, or certainly one of them

  • 1:27.... I love Kim Deal!!

  • short, but my fav song by them

  • Love it.

one of their best songs. :)

  • Did you Truthers really have to pollute a Pixies video with your batshitinsanery? Please, stick to organising ant-NWO marches in WoW and leave the non crazy people alone to enjoy the music.

  • Who is the third guitar player???

  • bob santiago, joeys brother

  • and the words are the letters of the words..

  • Kickin ass n chewin bubblegum...in that order

  • love this band and thanks for posting !

  • gotta love joeys lead riff that sounds like heavy metal gameboy, and the simple perfect amazing melody

  • un classique :-)

  • the man playing the acoustic is bob santiago, who i presume is joeys brother. hope that helps, awesome song, saw them live at v festival sydney last week, they went off, couldnt believe how good they were after a breakup.

  • Such weird lyrics. Awesome song though.

  • Um, ok....Freemasons? Opus Dei? House of Saud? Rupert Murdoch? Shadowy people who live in Dubai?

  • Zeitgiest was terrible

  • of course..........the government never has any ill-intentions up there sleeve - never, ever - as for Oswald you never mention the countless reports of gunfire coming from the grassy knoll - the confiscated cameras, mysterious deaths, and bullet holes in the curb....and I totally believe that a handful of terrorists could turn a plane around and smash it perfectly, not once, but twice into the WTC with minimal training - ANYBODY could do that right? "let's roll" - more propaganda

  • There wasn't even any planes....

  • i think it is joe santiago's brother. he is definitely related him anyway.

  • whos playing the acoustic?

  • oooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

    fuckin´great song

Pixies were and may be will from other planet... do you know what I mean?

  • i love the way charles pronounces "trompe le monde"
