I think KGB is best for long term storage. With the compression set to -9(extreme) it compresses about 87 MB per hour. But it compresses even better than 7zip.

dude, I'm trying to compress an 8.0 GB folder to a smaller size. But I've got a problem... I noticed after I started converting, it showed that the the maximum size would be 8.0 GB (Max 8.0GB). Does that mean that there will not be much change after converting, as in the folder size will only be compressed only a little? =(((

does this just means the size is undetermined?

ok this doesnt seem to work for me...it wont let me compress something over 4gb so i tried the beta2 version and when i tried to compress to a .kgb file it just sits there....says this:

Size before compression: 1.0B

Projected archive size: 0.0B

Ratio: 0.0%

Time: 352230:

Remaining time: 00:00:00

and when i try to compress to .zip i get a runtime error and havta close ....can somebody help me out here?

No .. it dosen't say that the maximum amoount is 4 GB

just choose ur folder(directory) and add a suitable file name (thats what u enter in the archive name field) and choose ur compression level and just click next. its that simple

Dont put very high compression rates because if your pc dosen't have a good processor or good amount of RAM then your pc may get hanged

just go to the compression utility and make it 2 max compression rate thts it but it will take a long time

if u wnt to do it in a short time then put it on normal or below normal compression rates and plz rate
