The parents realized how much they loved him, started a PFLAG group, and then went on to start a gay church in their community. When he made contact with them again, and then returned home for a visit he was shocked to find out what all his parents had done for him. Now that's what love is all about.

@BennyB5555 not for you but you made bad choices. if you had found a proper fella you wouldnt be in this situation. we are trying to tell the younger generations that they dont have to make the same mistakes. also im damn sure there are organisations that can help you. there is always a way out if you get some guts and find it. you only live once, dont live it on your knees, stand up and take life into your own hands. I didn't like it much but I must say; there's a similar relation with my family -cause they are loyal to The Church of England (which are Protestants)- and they are all paranoid about gays.

This was an awesome movie! It showed a mother's love for her son overcoming her prejudice and religious views on being gay. It was hysterical and heartwarming.
In a world where parents like Eric Borges's exist, I truly wish mothers like these existed instead.
I watched this movie and the kitchen scene and the final scene bring you to tears, because you feel like only in a movie would a mother say this to a son. And it's so sad that it seems so unattainable in real life; love for ones children seems so unattainable, is that not ridiculous?
On a lighter note, the rest of the movie had me LMAO. Great indie movie. Has more heart than big box office pro.

My mother loves me so much, it has sustained me through coming out at 16, finding acceptance with my ENTIRE family (including 5 brothers and cousins and aunts and uncles) and it sustained me through being diagnosed with crohn's, being in the hospitals for months at a time and adopting my son whom is straight. She and my brothers and my son wants me to meet a nice man but I focus on career. I'm blessed with my mother.

This has to be one of the best Gay-themed film I've seen in a long time.
Really LOL - Funny. The leads are fantastic. The two sisters are brilliant. The neighbours son, fantastic. The men she brings home - brilliant!
Can't say enough good things about this film. So positive. Fun and really worth a watch.
Bought this just out of a passing interest and was so, so happy with how good it was.
