Slipknot has an agressive style and technically is classed as American heavy metal. But many of the songs are hard rock aswell.
I think this is better than Dragon Force but it does suffer from the same fault.The vocalist dosnt change it up enough.This is a common fault in Power Metal.

@Tojehusiza Dragonforce was the reason why I started liking metal. Yes they have great talent (have you seen their music videos? Insane stuff! :o ) However, as I found other metal bands, Dragonforce was no longer my #1. I do like some of DF's songs however what turns me off are the ridiculously long solos they have in some of them where, in my opinion, kills the song.

Axenstar is high quality power metal. In my opinion they are one of the best metal bands that has awsome songs in every album. And I'm a picky motherfucker.

Readers of Guitar World voted them the "best new talent", "best metal", "best riff", "best shredders" . Their song Through the fire and flames won the "best solo" award. Herman Li has won "best guitarist" award in Metal Hammer Golden Gods -Gala 05. Both of their guitarists have also gotten positive comments from Kirk H.

Check out Twilight Dementia. BTW they've been able to play their shit live a long time ago. I really hope you aren't one of the Graspop 2006 sheep who say they can't play live. Look up any 2008 and up performances, hell there's a lot of good live work they have done. I really like them, however, they are not the best power metal band whatsoever.

Check out Twilight Dementia. BTW they've been able to play their shit live a long time ago. I really hope you aren't one of the Graspop 2006 sheep who say they can't play live. Look up any 2008 and up performances, hell there's a lot of good live work they have done. I really like them, however, they are not the best power metal band whatsoever.

@uniquebum Finnish, Swedish, German metal is the shit. Dragonforce is overrated, they're not awful but relative to Gamma Ray and other more underrated bands - they suck. People who find out about Dragonforce from Guitar Hero or what ever the fuck kids play now days don't even bother doing further research into power metal because their taste is music is likely shit to begin with. I know people who listen to shitty hip hop who claim to like Dragonforce. It's all relative.
