The description given here is for the wrong bridge! Get your facts straight. Also, why are you in the middle lane, forcing others to cross 2 lanes to overtake you for your entire journey across the bridge when the inner lane is free?
Technically, the Old Severn Bridge is entirely within England. You don't enter Wales until you cross the River Wye, and that is technically on another bridge that joins onto the Severn Bridge. The Beachley peninsula is Gloucestershire. So really, the Old Severn Bridge goes from South Gloucestershire to Gloucestershire, and the Wye Bridge goes from Gloucestershire to Monmouthshire.
That's the second severn crossing mate! You got all the severn bridge info right but I'm afraid the bridge you're driving on is the wrong one! You need to look a few miles upstream, take the M48 next time, that'll take you across the Severn Bridge.
