The Red Voodoo like the Blue Voodoo was actually an awesome amp!

It has two more power tubes and a different preamp then the Blue Voodoo. Also I think the Speakers in the cabs had different voicing!!!

Anyways, Somethings up with Crate! I think their slowly shutting down. Because their only making one line of tube amps and only offer 5 different series of amps. It's sad because back in the day the Blue Voodoo was a beast!

Maybe another company will buy them and bring them back to relevance!!!!

Uhh.. This is a band called Chickenfoot. They are what they are. It's not the same as Sammy replacing Dave in Van Halen. There never was any reason to place an expectation on these guys as to what they would or would not do. I think they may ultimately appeal to a demographic of middle aged guys who would like to just hear some rock again. No matter who you LIKED best, the hard rocking bands on the road now are few. This band rocks hard and is to me and good time.

It's true that Roth can play to at least some degree as evidenced by other videos on you tube of him playing. I just wanted to set the record straight. I dig Roth, and when we play Ice Cream Man, we copy Van Halen. It's very iconic. Some of the blues bands I've played in though, get very obsessive about playing blues the old timey way. Maybe some of it has rubbed off on me.

The egos in what some called Van Hagar screwed that band up. I remember abstractly that Sammy was a really good guitar player, but I'm 49 and didn't know he was this good. Eddie insisted Sammy JUST sing. Sammy wouldn't sing the old VH material and so I GUESS it followed that the band wouldn't do the old Sammy material. I love the fact that Chickenfoot is playing songs know matter who owns the royalties. For hard rock baby boomers these guys are a Godsend.

There are superbands who's done it before. Could they make it to the reaches of, say, Dave Matthews, who really has a smaller catalog of hits, and be a force on the concert circuit? My hope is, these guys have been around the block a few times, yet they're still new in their own right, yet they are the Authorities in the R&R genre, and they are good enough guys to fight their differences out onstage. For that, I would go see them. F# hip hop or other genres to generate energy in an arena.

1. Sammy wrote the song.
