  • Ah, yes. The very sound that haunts my dreams to this day.

  • NSP does a mix of tones main ones are Alert,Attack and Whoop

  • man i wish south louisiana had sirens like this :( they just broadcast their severe weather warnings over a tv or radio signal. which is pretty lame.

  • that would be awesome if they set the sirens in attack mode in madison county which is huntsville but they never put it in attack always alert

  • i was in alabama on easter cause my gmaw had passed and the night befor her funral thease siren blatsed off

  • I hate that siren. I miss the thunderbolts

  • This would scare the heck out of me, especially at night.

  • @HardDriveGuru Just think of it was not 2:15 or 3:00 in the morning when they went off our sirens did went off at 2:15am twice...

  • @csx2295 That would royally piss me off, especially since I sleep in the basement anyways.

  • @HardDriveGuru when we had tornado warnings and the sirens went off in Brownsville, Tennessee everytime they went off i slept in the closet instead.

  • @csx2295 That works.

  • @HardDriveGuru I do agree it is hard trying to sleep in the closet its kinda to do do you agree?

  • @csx2295 I tried sleeping in a closet randomly one night. I woke up with an obscenely achy back the next day. >XD

  • i remember these going off. My sister got freaked out

  • If you can see these sirens are mounted on towers instead of poles

  • cool

  • That's Cool to be in front of a tornado siren while sounding during an actual tornado warning.

  • i agree with you siren1000t1

  • nice 2001! its cool how you got the siren and the lightning in the video!

  • Awesome video! I have a buddy that lives in your area. Gotta love the sound of 2001's during a storm!

  • Nice video. That tornado siren is called a Federal Signal 2001 SRN or SRNB..

  • DC actually, I got to see this siren in person. Very few of Madison County's 2001s are SRNBs, and I don't think they even have any SRNs.

  • It seems pretty high-pitched for a DC, to be honest.

  • There's no question about it, this one is for sure a DC.

  • Oh, okay. Thanks for letting me know. :)

  • Yeah Madison County has a TON of 2001-DC's, most were installed in the early 90's or so. They replaced a bunch of Model 2's and Thunderbeams. Now some of the left over Model 2's and T-beams are being replaced with 2001-130's. I seen a few of them in person not too long ago, and some of the Thunderbeams are mounted really low!

  • @murrfarms We have two brand new 2001-130's installed in Brownsville, Tennessee in January 2008 they went off with the other 4 sirens on February 5, 2008 at 5pm at night don't ask me why both of our 2001-130's were going off on the attack tone the other 4 sirens in the alert tone i will find about our 2001-130's going off in the attack tone.
