  • Shitake Mushroom Man,

We bought some mushroom plugs and inoculated a log. According to FungiPerfectis' instructions we are supposed to avoid chlorinated water. Please permit me to ask: Is your water source free of chlorine since you were using a sprinkler? Or is chlorinated water not an issue for you? If not, why?

    Thanks for any reply.

  • We use chlorinated water for our log soakings.

    No problem.

    Ken

  • Hi Ken,

Thanks for responding. Watering the log has been such a huge hassle since I was concerned about the chlorine.

  • fungiperfecti /dot\ com has everything you'll need, including instructions. Its really easy.

  • I am trying to grow mushrooms and I can't seem able to make it work. The big challenge is watering with unchlorinated water. That is the biggest hassle.

  • do you inoculate with syringes? or dowel plugs? cause i inoculate with plugs and they only last about a couple years

  • Dowel plugs waxed over once installed, have logs producing after 5-7 years.
