I have the 40ex500 and the lag is pretty much the same. although some games have less input lag such as cod compared to battlefield (bf3 has horrible input lag) which leads me to wonder if the console has something to do with input lag as well.
I brought the Sony KDL40EX720 from Sony. Since it is a 2011 model, am hoping it won't experience much lag. I think it has like a 6.5ms response time or something. It doesn't have to be perfect. But if the lag is really obvious, .....
@kleinice wat is motionflow and why have u disabled it? im considering getting a bravia for my xbox. its between the KDL-EX720 46 " and a samsung D6600 46" - both arnd the same price range....so im confused :S
@kleinice there is something called slow ass XBOX!!! Screen is probably going faster than you can NOTICBLY see (2-4 ms) and ur XBOX is super ghetto. I've had shitty screens in my day one had 20MS INPUT LAG!!! it was doing wut ur video showed, dont blame the screen blame yourself for using an XBOX, PC all the way!
Current LED Tv's are nowhere near as good as current LCD's, LCD's have had years to mature in there picture quality - Grey to Grey responce times etc. All the LED tv's i have seen just don't cut it when they are compared side by side with the current gen of LCD's. And LED edge lit have some of the worst blacks and low level detail in shadows that i have seen in years, and as for there 120hz i think your find the extra 60hz is due to picture processing inserting frames, so it's not really 120hz !
if your into gaming i would stick with a current gen LCD with CCFL Backlighting ((NOT LED edge back-lighting)) and when Gaming Turn Off All Picture Processing as this will cause screen lag. OR Buy A Real Monitor For Gaming that has been built for that purpose. Or if you can find a large high Res Crt you will have no screen latency at all.
And people Don't Fall For The Sales Patter, Do your research, Don't Mugg Yourselves Off !
How did you fix this problem? because i got the same problem with the 40inch. Called sony and they say none of their TV's have screen lag with any of their TV's.
@kleinice - I was gonna say, the lag (if any) looks minimal to me in your video. when u push B, he crouches almost immediatley, same with when you shoot and move the character around. I guess im just another retard who cant read video descriptions lol. Nice video tho
@kleinice Compare stats with this TV and a CRT or fast response monitor. Even if you think it's "not that bad", you're stats will be drastically different.
@EvanIIRC and thats the biggest fault you can make, you simply can't compare an television with an crt or any other monitor. that are two different things.
@EvanIIRC actually no, an CRT has an completly different technology and a response time that will never be reached by an LCD, so it's just silly to compare these two types.
@kleinice That's not even close to a proper analogy. You can compare them both statistically, with numbers, unlike apples and oranges. You have no idea what you're talking about. Please be quiet.
@EvanIIRC well, an CRT always wins in terms of response time because of its technology, so whats the point in comparing these two things? you dont get the point that this video is for people who wants to buy and LCD(!)-TV and whats to compare it to other LCD(!) models.....and this is my video, i can post 1000 times if i want to ;)
@mrjeovanni45 LED's are simply LCD's that use led's to light the panel instead of a florescent light. LED's have a glare, LCD's dont, some LED's look better than a standard LCD (backlit with local dimming) but edge lit are a rip off, they bury details into black to make the contrast ratio higher. plus LCD's are a lot less expensive right now, id go LCD
@mrjeovanni45 60hz will always have less input lag than 120hz because it has less processing. If you get a 120hz you can use game mode but some tv's gaming mode will also lower the video quality a little bit.
Right now LED technology is new, there are still some things they need to sort out like backlight uniformity and being so slim, they usually have crappy speakers in them. Unless you are getting high end led lcd,, i don't think it's really worth it.
@Mr0swald1000 ROFL. Wow you're a moron. Xbox 360's don't lag. It's the LCD display. Some have more lag than others. This is a pretty bad display as far as lag.
@EternalMalice1 this is not bad at all (and his 360 being set for somthing other than the native resolution of the TV can cause lag) I've seen tvs (a sanyo) that lag up to over one second.
@s1gnex yeah there is hardly any lag, just a tiny little bit. i thought it would be much worse after reading comments that this model has an 60ms input lag.
I take it back, just got this TV it's very noticable on PC, maybe not console. How do i activate game mode? I also tried with trumotion disabled but no luck :(
Its not the tv. Its the way you are jostling the controller. Watch some videos or something on how to properly use the xbox controller.

@3dbully isnt LED just the back-light technology for LCD tv's? AFAIK there is no such thing as an 'LED tv', just LCD tv's with LED tech.

Some of you people need your eyes checked if you think that the input lag demonstrated in this video "isn't that bad". It's actually horrible.
YouGotWoodRolled 11 months ago
@YouGotWoodRolled yeah very horrible -.- play 10 minutes and you won't even notice it anymore.

Play 10 seconds on a better TV then go back to this TV and tell me you don't notice it.

@kleinice It's very simple really. See which one has less lag. Calibrate with Rock Band 2. There ya go, compared.
EvanIIRC 9 months ago
@EvanIIRC well yeah, i can compare apples with pears but that don't make any sense. if you like the non-lag of an CRT than buy an old CRT-Tv ;)
