Measure the time constant of your pulse on your O-scope to determine the capacitance and inductance of your circuit.
Your ammeter needle does not move BECAUSE your duty cycle is only 1%. Your ammeter measurement becomes useful only when you have a continuous current, NOT 1% doody. The continuous current could be time-varying, but as in this case of a 1% doody, the current is zero Amps 99% of the time. Your ammeter sings due to the 1% doody on-off current.

i think what your seeing is cross talk between the 2 wires, the 2ndary has a tiny amount of capacitance so that's y you get more spark if you wait a few seconds. nice simple oscillator design i would have used the same setup to make an oscillator for that application.
i think he was just trying to show the voltage gain between turns but yeah the bifialr coil is not connected right also his spiral tesla coil had spacing between turns i found that is absolutely neccessary or it shorts between turns even though you cant see it it does happen when you space the turns then you can see the voltage increase even with less turns

it will make a huge difference, the inductance of the form will not be neutralized by the configuration, and so interchange between capacitance and inductance will take place much like in an LC tank circuit.
Make sure that you have absolutley no current in the circuit. Ever feel like your scalp is bleeding? It was the dumbest mistake of my life. Almost died. .73 mili-amps to kill. or some such low number.

The light is being pulsed at a high enough freq. that your eye doesn't detect the time it is off. Maybe you need to look at the current with some other type of meter besides a DC current meter. Try looking at the current waveform on the osciliscpe with a clamp type current probe. That would be interesting.

This much more power than normal transverse electromagnet waves. Try powering a motor 300 feet from a mega watt radio station. It will not do it.

I think thats why he started using caps. slowly building up a charge for sudden "switch" closure to obtain a unidirectional pules. When run from a very large capacity HV generator caps were no needed. After all that was the effect observed in all large eddison generators when the switch was closed (connected to the line).

That nasty emf can be captured and used. Read up on the Bedini SG motor. By capturing the back emf you are able to loop it back into the input battery and have a super efficient device. Don't ground it out like in conventional electronics, USE IT TO YOUR ADVANTAGE!

the DC amp meter doesn't register because the output of the coil is AC. You need an AC amp meter to measure the out put current of the coil.

You put the lamp in serial wirh the battery, while your secundairy coil was open.
De input current is very low. Do it again, but make a short cut on the secundairy coil

he is right, look it up on wikipedia / bifilar and the tesla patent linked there.
it's purpose is to eliminate the induced magnetic field, both wires induce an opposite mag.field. (to eliminate induced current)

@camster6 to be honest, all this is is induction, with some losses wrt power input and power output of ~30%? between input and output coils.
there is scarcely any current going in, and the same goes for that coming out.
and of course, you wouldnt be able to use that sort of ammeter to read it (it is a pulse).
