13/10/09 - A 19-year-old woman who was injured after a tent collapsed on thousands of people at the Bazant Pohoda music festival in July, died on Tuesday in Martin (Zilina region) hospital, TASR was told by Martin hospital spokesperson Katarina Kapustova.

The young woman was repeatedly admitted to the specialised neuro-surgical department of Martin hospital with severe brain inflammation as the injury caused by the collapsed tent worsened.

I was stood next to the tent as it was blown down and the most awful thing i have ever seen. I wish anyone who was injured a safe recovery and feel for the family of the man who was killed. A tragedy that should never have happened.

A sad accident at what should have been an enjoyable event.

Unfortunately a 29 year old man from Piešťany died.

Id like to wish everyone a speedy recovery.

The organiser Michal Kaščák had been warned of the storm approx 1 hour before it hit.

A horrific accident which could have been avoided?

Being in the centre of Europe, Slovakia was blessed with a very stable climate.

Unfortunately this is no longer.

Over the last few years extreme weather events have become almost regular occurrences.
