LoL is made to play it for fun and to kill some time (basically minsweeper in complicated), while S2's target with creating HoN was to build a competitive game with tournaments, price money, and a prfessional gaming comunity.

I personally like HoN more.

PS. after 5 hours of LoL your eyes bleed since the graphics are ....

improved dota so it is just good. But look at League of Legends!!, there are completely other heroes and it is more like an rpg-dota. While HoN is not even released. However both games are cool and fun no question. U have to try out both. Imo LoL is more fun, because u ahve more action, more to do, and realy can choose your own combination of Runes and 2 summoner spells that support your Hero in the Arena aside from the 5 abilities of each hero. there are a 3on3 and a 5on5 map.

It is like just like an improved Dota, it is slower than LoL, u need longer to play. So test out both, in your case test Dota and think of an automatchmaking and better grafik = HoN (and more features also) or just get a key for HoN and test it. NO one can tell you what makes more fun to play for You.

The heroes and items are the same as in DotA, but have been re-skined, redesigned, and renamed.

The game also has a few new heroes, but the majority of the heroes you should know how to play right off the bat if you're familiar with DotA. They keybindings are a bit different too, and took me some time to get used to.

The gigantonormous difference here is that the creators of HoN also control the game engine and the entire network. There are a billion things Blizzard could have done to make DotA genuinely perfect, but since they won't do them and Icefrog has no power over the subject DotA is massively flawed. Sure HoN isn't currently better than DotA but it will eventually become better since S2 can apply changes not only to the map itself but to the chat/network/statistics etc.

Clearly you are either someone who hasn't gotten into the beta and possibly mad... or you are just in denial cause you dont want to spend money. Leaver protection isn't all this game offers. It offers anti-cheat(no maphacks), clan support... rejoining games you drop from. PRIVATE SERVER SUPPORT. lan support referee and spectator support, hltv style spectator support. So, I expect it to go far because it adds things the game must have to be an avenue for serious competitive gaming.

i've played LoL and it was horrible. the heroes were interesting but the creators have no idea how to balance, the graphics are bad, the actual gameplay is pretty repetitive, i dont see it going anywhere competitively. Guinsoo was known for making horribly imbalanced heroes in the old dota, and thats exactly what he's doing in LoL too.
