  • my sister is listening to Die mother fucker die(bombdrop song) and i am just laughing while singing this...

  • Stark as Lennon. The best reasons graphically explained for not going to war.Defence, yes, war,no

  • Fuck the Red Shields.

  • The only people that war helps, are the fucking cunts at the top.

  • Last lines in this song just make me chill man. This and Working Class Hero, two of the best fucking political statements ever recorded to wax.

  • Here's to remembering Christopher Hitchens as the evil warmonger he actually was.

  • @WithBACON Here's to you shutting the fuck up. Whatever you may have thought about his views on the Iraq war, he was one of the greatest essayists and rhetoricians of the 20th century, and spitting upon his grave just makes you look like a prick. Admit it, you're a fucktard christian who was a little butthurt by his arguments.

  • @Sauron012 Hitchens was a cock who loved to here himself talk. He had some deep seeded issues that reflected in his work. He wasn't really an atheist either, he was madly pro Zionist and pro Israeli because he felt he owed that position to his jewish mother. If thats not cultist religionism for you - I don't know what is. As for you, calling people fucktard christians yet write about Hitchens as if his jesus and you worship him like a god - see the IRONY. THINK!. Your the one sounding butthurt.

  • @wabfunk Sorry to butt in here, but until people kill and start wars over his words, he is not being worshiped like a god. The people you speak of ADMIRE him, but they do not go to shrines once a week and attempt to commune with him.

  • @wabfunk FlaminDuck has already made my point. Just because you may have disagreed with him, it doesn't mean you have the right to insult him from beyond the grave. And I do not in any way worship him, I simply admire the man and the legacy he left. Worship is when you kneel to the idols that represent the person or deity, worship is when you threaten people with death for insulting him, worship is when you cover immoral beliefs with the name of 'religion', which is above all challenging.

  • @Sauron012 Sorry, but he was still a massive cock who loved to hear the sound of his own voice and whether you choose to except it or not, even those close to him admit that he wasn't a true atheist at heart. Lets face it, a lot of people worshipped him because of his exuberant rhetoric and thick aristocratic english accent. In fact, if you listen clearly to what he says you'll find that he wasn't really clear on anything at all, except of course, his love for Israel and hate for muslims.

  • @Sauron012 You are incorrect. Unfortunately, Hitchens, as a writer, was a lightweight. Nothing he wrote will be remembered long.

  • i dedicate this song to casa du rothschild. may the scourge of their family soon be wiped from the face of the earth.

  • @paragshah2112 A plague upon the house of rothschild. A plague upon the Illuminati. And a plague upon all the Zionists.

  • #shuthefuckup

  • All wars should be fought from the top down, kill the politicians and generals first. You know... two men enter... one man leaves.

  • fortunately great music was made when it needed to be made. It will probably always endure -unfortunately -cause it will probably always be needed.

  • Seething truth.

  • I agree with you entirely, and I still think war is reprehensible. It is for the reason that you speak that I think all war must end. I believe Mr. Dylan is speaking of all creators of war from all nations regardless of their intentions, war will only beget war, never love.

  • WOW! What an indictment of war and proffitering, may we all see the wisdom, may we all blow the horn.

  • Intense, comme je les aime à vélo

  • Intense, comme on je les aime à vélo.

  • I gotta say most of this song is just from his point of view I mean really to be honest they're just doing what needed to be done to fulfill the future to unfold what will unfold. If you're so blind to not understand that then that is how it is meant to be. What happens, happens, I have to say those that don't think other than what they are told to think don't listen. I don't laugh at you but I definitely won't degrade you and pity you. I believe that all is planned and most you all say you do.

  • @Sege93 Damn, it's almost as if the advent of world peace and the release of this album weren't inextricably linked. Apologies for this dickish comment though.

  • Old men start wars and young men fight them...

  • I SPENT 2 WEEKS WITH HIM IN 1086

  • @highschoolmusical841 Wow, you are a pretty twisted little man aren't you?

  • Comment removed

  • @highschool Aww you're really a little hypocrite at heart aren't you?

  • ... And all the money that you made , wont ever buy back you soul ....... I wish some politicians now a days would listen , and act with the wisdom that todays enormous challenges put infront f us . This song mentions that , not only in relation to wars , and things related to that ....... Emmanuel Kant - 18th century philosopher mentioned , ' Man must learn to control his mind . And not let his mind control him ...

  • What a song.

  • The Truth, song by a poet.

  • none of you get it do we can only answere for our actions wars will not be stopped with putting guns down because we would just move on to knives we have to change our thought process and stop hating the person yes hate the act but send love to the person we have to change the world from a negitive energy to a love energy and then only then shall we save our species LOVE NOT HATE.

  • a master piece, inspirational...

  • I totally sang this on the way to work this morning...and it was AWESOME! Loved it as a teen (in the late 90's) and I love it now. Protesting what is WRONG never gets old.

  • @Sege93 Same shit, different smell.

  • @highschoolmusical841 Are your done embarrassing yourself yet?

  • @LaymanScholar you´re a waste of space...keep you´re toughts to yourself nobody fucking cares

  • @kitoskitoni Obviously you care if you took the time to express your thoughts via telling me not to express mine. Would you like another attempt dumb ass?

  • @highschoolmusical841 Could be worse, like waking up in Slovakia every morning, lmao.

  • #occupywallstreet

  • @pipin3d #occupythefederalreserve

  • @pipin3d i would of thumbed that up if you didnt put that retarded twitter shit next to it

  • Learned this on acoustic, planning on performing a cover of it at a local venue, and bringing the crowd to tears :)

  • OCCUPY WALLSTREET

  • occupy wall st!

  • Perfect explanation of the U.S. government

  • Who will kill the Hitlers if the armies don't exist? What will keep the generals from becoming tyrants?

  • @Ariel62073 my extremely large penis

  • @Beenman2210 The future will look back on your times as a population that self-stupefied..to their own peril.

  • @Ariel62073 if there were no armies hitler would have no power, because he wouldnt have had an army either.

what is a general without an army? nothing but a lone man, tyrannous generals wouldnt exactly be generals without armies, they wouldnt even be a threat.

  • @TheEnviroFriend Who, if not generals with armies, will kill the Hitlers and their armies? Good and bad certainly exist in the world. If killing the evil can't happen because killing is wrong, is it right to let the evil enslave and kill the good? What societal checks and balances prevent the Eisenhowers from becoming the tyrants they fought/fight to topple?

  • @Ariel62073 Did it ever cross your mind that someone somewhere profits also for every ounce of iron and every single bullet the "evil" guys use? The people who you see as "evil" see themselves as "good" and justify their doings just like you do. Or did you really think Hitler was waging a war and thinking "F*** yea I'm evil" as if he was Skeletor? There are no such things as absolute good or evil.

  • @Nordis People who sell anti-war songs profit from those songs that don't stop wars.

There is absolute good and absolute evil. If you really don't know the difference yet, the world will teach you.

  • @Ariel62073 This song was one of many that enlivened those that actually did stop a war.

Musicians often have a love-hate relationship with the way that they derive income. First you have to bear your soul, then you have to place a money value on what is priceless to you. weird.

Those who believe in absolutes are not paying attention, have little empathy, and are capable of heinous acts. They cheer the end of the world and call it human nature. Willing to let us all die to prove a point.

  • @Joecredit3 It's also interesting that Bob Dylan wasn't singing in German, yet there was a Volkswagen bus in the background of his album cover picture.

If the bus wasn't meant to be symbolic, then that is an amazing chance of history. Hitler shot himself; the peoples' car turned into a hippie bus.

  • @Nordis To be honest as learned as I am in certain areas of thought I have no doubt he thought he was evil from the point of view of the majority. However he knew what he was doing and did it for the better of the human race however I doubt he ever truly planned to succeed and most likely planned everything...him being a pagan and all...I just understand what pagans think and how they think. They're extremely intelligent, the true pagans at least.

  • @Nordis Your logic is flawed. Just because Hitler didn't consider himself evil, that doesn't make what he did not evil. Intentions do not justify actions, I'm sorry to say. Hitler, and many other oppressive dictators who brought death upon countless innocents, are absolutely evil to their cores.

  • @nachokingp Most German's at the time supported Hitler and thought he had brought Germany back to the glory days of the past. They didn't think that he was evil. The Nazi's did horrible things, but so have others throughout history. Good people can be evil if they lose and evil people seen as good if they win. History is blurred. Hitler, for example, saw himself as a savior of his people, and his people saw him as a saviour.

  • @missdaisywindfarm That doesn't mean he wasn't evil. Hatred is evil. Murder is evil. Just because his people saw him as good, that doesn't change his actions. I'm not following your logic.

  • @missdaisywindfarm not for long they did....

  • @nachokingp America has brought death upon countess innocents....so has Britain and most of what we know today as the good guys. The logic isn't flawed, you just don't like it.

  • @RampantMinotaur I'm sorry, when did I say that what I said only applied when it wasn't America doing it? I said that hatred and murder are evil, no matter who is doing it. I'm pretty sure when Dylan wrote this song, he was referring to America at the time as well. The logic I was referring to was and still is flawed.

  • @Nordis The song is for the "someone somewhere" profiting from every ounce of iron being cooked into killing machines: Masters of War.

  • @Nordis I don't care about good and evil, all I care about is destroying anyone that threatens me.

  • @Nordis HE WASN'T?!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @Nordis agree totally, but hitler is as close as they get

  • @Nordis Hitler laughing like he's Skeletor! Genius. You're so right!

  • Not quite what Bobby was writing about, but this song always makes me think of the Japanese fishing companies that kill Whales, Sharks, and Dolphins, and defend it by saying it's for research while simultaneously selling their catch.

I just want you to know I can see through your mask. And I hope that you die.

  • I must be the only person that thinks these lyrics are woeful then, I never saw the fascination with Dylan.

  • @LaymanScholar you're not the only person. you're among a vast majority of retarded people on this planet who can't see great art when it's staring them in the fucking face. this song is passionate and political as well as being personal enough to connect on that level - the mark of a great protest song i think. the lyrics are so filled with anger and pain it feels like he's screaming them...sends shivers down my spine.

  • @gbrioche Oh please lol, the lyrics are crap, infantile and embarrassing just like Dylan was. The guy rode on the lack of real talent because of the low standards of the era when it came to music. You are just another wannabe hippie that only likes this shit because you think it gives you street cred like most of Dylan fans. The guy was a flake, his music was weak, his fans were sad people with no sense of shit. "sends shivers down my spine." lmmfao that was pathetic even to read.

  • @LaymanScholar 'sad people with no sense of shit'? all the greatests songwriters, neil young, tom waits etc all cite dylan as a colossal influence. It is you who are the sad bastard who has shit taste in music, the guy who thinks he knows but actually has it so terribly wrong. I'm also not a fucking hippie. And if music has never sent shivers down your spine, I pity you and your intellectually and emotionally challenged brain. Something's going on but you don't know what it is, do you, knobhead?

  • @gbrioche You're way too embarrassing to converse with any further. You really are just a wannabe hippie sad because you were born in the "Take That" era lol, you just keep believing that you "get" the music and how you are such a deep person, and I'll just keep laughing at you. Dylan's lyrics are for morons who get confused with words over two syllables. Now go and bother your daddy for another 45 from his sad little wannabe hippie collection, there's a good chap.

  • @LaymanScholar I pity you son, I really do. You could be trolling, but your mongheadedness (four syllables for you there) seems too genuine to be put-on so I'm guessing you're actually just an idiot. I don't have vinyl and as I said, I'm not a hippie - seems to me you don't really even understand what a hippie is, you just use it as a random insult for people who like music more than 10 years old. I have no idea what kind of music you're into, and to be honest don't want to know. I'm done.

  • @gbrioche I didn't call you a hippie, I called you a wannabe hippie. And yes you have no idea what kind of music I am "into" as I didn't spread my inert little feelings of how cosmically wonderful Dylan's lyrics are. The guy was severely overrated, lyrical genius my arse.

  • @LaymanScholar Oh anonymous pseudo-intellectual music snob, you're missing the point, and ain't never gonna find it because you're looking in the wrong places. Your antagonistic, misplaced insults are wasted on me like my time's been wasted on you. You also have the most ridiculously pretentious user name I have ever come across. Good day sir.

  • @LaymanScholar Yeah, the sixties were known for the total lack of any notable musicians. That's not just an imaginary thing that you made up. Absolutely no musical innovations occurred in the sixties.

  • Holy shit this song is awesome

  • dylans my man!

  • This song is about Banks, They fund both sides of any war.

    End the Fed

  • This song is timeless. It belongs in the Metal Gear Solid franchise. Try to imagine the microwave hallway scene in MGS4 with this song playing. It would make a great game even better

  • best lyrics about war ever written

  • There isn't a live version of Dylan playing this anywhere on YouTube; anyone have one??

  • how much do i know

    to talk out of turn

you might say that i'm young

    you might say i'm unlearned

but there's one thing i know

    though i'm younger than you

that even jesus would never forgive what you do

strength of conviction is what moves people

  • Why the hell does youtube insist the artist is Michel Montecrossa?!

  • PURE POWER. NO ONE WRITES LYRICS LIKE THESE ANYMORE. MUSIC DOESN'T MEAN THE SAME THING TO MOST LIKE IT USED TO.

  • how can one comment, of course it is beautiful, the language of my lovely youth. When we were young, he was the guy at the cheap bars that most did not understand, but now it is fashional to say you knew him oh so long ago.---- hey bob, still love ya

  • If we had a draft today, we'd see a lot more protesting.

  • The girl on the album cover, Suze Rotolo, passed away February 25, 2011.

  • One of the best things that Resistance 3 has done is introduce me to this truly magnificent song. As a 16 year old I hate being sterotyped as a person who only likes offensive, misogynistic rap or Kesha and such "popular" shite.

  • This one's for NATO: the murdering bastards....

  • i want that volkswagen bus so bad!

  • "Like Judas of old, you lie and deceive

A world war can be won, you want me to believe

But I see through your eyes, and I see through your brain

Like I see through the water that runs down my drain"

Dylan is at his lyrical best on this one

  • He is singing about the NWO masonic Iluminati and he is 100% right as usual!

  • Unfortunately it's just as appropriate today as it was 40 some years ago. Still killing....

  • full circle

  • @thundertower yeah, you are what i call a piece of shit

  • Qué bonita y qué pacifista!.

  • monumental

  • @TREYOLDHIPPIE Monumental it as, and monumental it is!

  • Very powerful words for the ages.

  • "And I'll stand o'er your grave 'till I'm sure that you're dead."

  • @EnigmaIsACoolBand I dont have much to say but I did give your comment a' thumbs up'..is that OK!

  • I like folk music more than the electric dylan

  • IT's just as true now as when Dylan wrote it. How sad is that?

  • @pammitty extremely sad. Especially considering the current conflict in Libya.

  • after the bullshit is said and done your being manipulated!

  • war is a sick act of man ...but i love bob dylan

  • Like so many others I hunted for a long time to find the original master. Amazing words with so much truth even for today's world.

  • @krclg ESPECIALLY in todays messed up world.

  • haha kik ass comments...theres a certain mindset that comes along with dylan fans...its really nice 2 c some intelligent ppl still out there 8D

  • nd btw thx 4 posting this man...jst lik evryone else lookin 4 this song...it took 4ever 2 find haha. this is probably my all time favorite song by my favorite artist. i mean john lennon, floyd etc r up there 2 but dylan jst kicks evryones fuckin ass 8D

  • Humans call theirselves civilised? Bob proved it wrong!

  • this is the rebel spirit that is dead in america sadly we are so ditached from reality that songs like this will only haunt our final days.but i still hope we learn at the last minute and vear away from oblivion and enter utopia.

  • @ricciutioriginal hey buddy im 19 nd keepin dylan alive...nd i still hav a mind of my own ;}...theres still a few of us out there that havent fallen for the rot that society has become ;}...jst so u no haha. btw were past the point of no return...2 much destruction nd hatred hav been brewing 4 much 2 long...dnt get me wrong i wish it wasnt lik that but its the sad, undeniable truth...better 2 know than pretend its not happening. well now that my rant is over...fuck i love this song hehe

  • @will10218 Ha will, such wisdom from a young man. by the way Bob Dylan was 22 when he wrote this...

  • This album is one the few albums I can go through and play over and over again without getting bored with it..

  • Sad thing is, nothing has changed.

  • buy the album dumbasses, wont be very hard to find then

  • OMGZ I HATE EVRY1 HOOCOVERS THIS OMGZ IT TOOK FORWVAVER TO FINDS THE ORINGINALL

I typed in Masters of War and sure enough, 3 different videos, each of Bob singing popped up on the first page. Com'mon now guys, use your heads

  • Noone wins a war, someone just loses more

  • thumbs up for orginal

  • dear Bob, The internet has happened you n AC/DC have 2 find alternatives like every other band live with it. Stop takin stuff of Youtube.

  • Wikileaks theme.

  • Ages to find this song, just looked up the song, and BAM there it is first on the list.

  • if D. camron & N. clegg would stop sucking eachother's dicks for long enougth to listen to this, then they MIGHT be able to find the sense to stop this pointless war that we cannot win.

  • If every person in this nation was forced to sit down and comprehend these lyrics, I truly believe the country wouldn't be the same.

  • @bewildebeest wrong if everyone took these lyrics to heart after comprehending them then this country would be truly diffrent

  • @bewildebeest hahahahahahaaahhahahahahahahaha

  • @bewildebeest you're talking as if youtube is america only.

  • @bewildebeest Sad thing is that a lot of people can't comprehend these lyrics no matter how hard they try.

  • @bewildebeest There will always be criminals in high places. Metallica said the same thing Dylan said with their "Disposable Heroes" and nothing changed. Criminal kids listen to their governments, get their blood boiling thinking of shooting "the enemy." These kids exist in all cultures the world wide. They volunteer, and the survivors procreate, passing on the poisoned mind.

There are good people to. Aim at the ignorant; try to teach them awareness.

  • @bewildebeest the country? the whole WORLD needs to hear this.

  • FINALLY!!!!!

  • @source1zero Ditto

  • absolutely timeless

  • Three people literally love the master's of war.

  • 3 people thought it was so good they fainted and fell onto the dislike button. Unfortunate.

  • @warprod I dont usually answer but how can you refrain when such a bright wit is presented for destruction...I really dont do YouTube much but i feel I need to support this person (and the humour)

  • a great song which has been covered far too often to my mind

though I´m admittedly in love with roger taylor´s version^^

  • 3 people are masters of war.

  • reminds or war poetry and some pink floyds final cut

  • I can t say anything about this masterpiece. It s only 40 years ahead of it s time,I had a cassette of this for years that a friend of mine made me,wore it out.THIS is simply one of the GREATEST songs EVER written.PERIOD!

  • @eatthelies138 I feel like it had a lot with what was going on at the time this was a number of years after vietnam it applies to what's going on right now and I think it has to do with the Military Industrial Complex.

  • WHO THE FUCK CLICKED THE DISLIKE BUTTON???? u must get alot of people who dislike ur bitch asses

  • a BIG shame this is still so appropriate - shame on the warmongers.....they take life in vain for their own profit......disgusting

  • I FOUND IT FIRST GO. YOU MUST BE A RETARD

  • I had a very strange vision whilst I listened to this timeless, sad, and

prophetic song. The photo looks like two young people walking along

a dusty street. It looks like the people walking on the streets just after

the attacks on the WTC. And they were an INSIDE JOB!!

When will anyone wake up to the fact that our youngest, our best, our finest,

have been, and are still being used and sent as innocent victims to the masters

of war, who do not have any sleepless nights about our losses.
