I love Mali so much and want to go back as soon as possible! What a beautiful and amazing film to represent such a beautiful and amazing people! A must see!
Wait a moment, the song at the beginning is "Naam" by Christy Azuma and the Uppers, a band from northern Ghana, not Mali. Why is Aissa Maiga lip-syncing it??
Its like using a French song in a film which plot is based in Berlin.
@MrHalohalo85; Happens far more often in African movies. "The White Masai"(I believe it was that one) is based in Kenya and has a song inside by Salif Keita (Mali). Don't upset yourself with this small things.
@MrHalohalo85 i get your point but the northern Ghanains have the same roots as the southern Malian. maiga is half Malian and half Gambian. Most malians have at least one Akan ancestor. Most of them can trace one akan ancestor back in the first millenium.
well, i think the people are beautiful, the languages are beautiful, some of the most beautiful music, and i have a special interest in tuareg people of mali. all those reasons.
i met a tuareg when i was in germany and i could tell immediately where he was from because of what he was wearing, Mali is a beautiful country with beautiful people, like all africa
Saw the movie today at the Ghent Film Festival, Danny Glover was there too to introduce the movie, wonderful, loved every bit of it, especially the African symbolism in it.
