  • @deathandhades1 i'm going to shed some true light on this video. You, "deathandhades1" need to calm down - sir. As mentioned in the "Show More" section of this video its clearly stated this was put together with the original footage for the "Post #207 Recruitment Video" also found here on YouTube. I believe if there was a real "problem" with this video the SCSO would have requested its removal years ago. Let these kids enjoy learning law enforcement "exploring" - this is a GREAT program. :)

  • Hey you mentioned this video is a spoof on an actual recruitment vid you guys made? Was that one you made available to the public? ( I know it may seem like a stupid question but I noticed you said this one wasn't intended for the public but I'm not sure if thats because it was a spoof). I'm working on a video recruitment project myself and wanted to use this as something to show my advisors as a comparssion for what I would like to do.

  • @FreelancerCalifornia there shouldn't be a problem with that - - but perhaps you should show them the "Explorer Recruitment Video (Post # 207)" that was directly used as the SCSOs recruitment video for awhile - - I am not sure if the agency still uses it. This video was simply put together for fun with the footage filmed for the recruitment video.

  • @deathandhades1 You are entitled to your opinion and I appreciate your concern for the country - we all are, in a way. This video is a parody and I hope you realize that soon. Thanks for your comments.

  • @deathandhades1 I still think you're taking this video too seriously... this explorer post near Seattle (which is now defunct due to funding) didn't tactically train teenagers in weapons combat or police vehicle pursuit - in actuality, this video was originally conceived to be somewhat comical. Obviously explorers cannot drive police cars, we were able to do so on closed roads for the purpose of the video to be shown at a convention rally. It wasn't intended for civilians to see...

  • @deathandhades1 Hmm I think you're slightly confused on the police explorer task here... especially in this video, mind you, this is old and we aren't apart of this group anymore but it was an excellent learning experience. I assure you, our department never conducted or enforced so-called "raids" on disgruntled vets; don't believe everything you see and hear on YouTube... it's full of crazy conspiracy nuts

  • @deathandhades1 You are a moron. 'nuff said.

  • City of Titusville Police Explorer Post #486

  • how did u guys get a cop car?!

  • @laxandsteffen We were being supervised by law enforcement officers nearby - we only borrowed them for the scenes presented in this video (on a closed course)

  • @tricofilms ohh okay but how did u ask them to borrowed there cars?!!

  • @laxandsteffen one of my brothers was a member of the Sheriff Explorer post. This is all put together with the footage used for "Snohomish County Sheriff Post #207 Recruitment Video." You can find it here on YouTube. This was all exercised with permission and supervision of fully commissioned deputies. These kind of scenarios are normal for police explorers when learning how to execute high risk traffic stops, building searches, etc. But they are NOT cops---its a program for high school kids.

  • @tricofilms ohhh okay now i understand is cool that real cops wuld share this with some kids but is this only in usa or it in eu aswell?

  • @laxandsteffen I'm not sure if it is or not. You can always try contacting your local/municipal police agency wherever you live and ask them if they do it. Even if they don't have it, they should know what you're talking about. Just ask about police explorers, or options for high school students within the department (if any).

  • @MrCheesyPoofz ohh okay well thx for the ansawer

  • Post 131 North Carolina.

  • @redneck4runneroutlaw

I'm having my cadet graduation for the jaxsonville explorers on the 31st, enjoy the class.

  • Rocking post #948 with JSO.

  • "its not a job, its a calling."

  • and FURTHERMORE all of you cop haters out there need to shut up and think about who keeps your lazy butt safe from all the things that go bump in the night. just try to live a week in this world without those so called "pigs". you would be dead by tuesday or in the fetal position by wednsday. you are entitled to your opinion but there is a fine line between using your rights and blatant disrespect of the courageous men and women who put there lives on the line every day to give you peice of mind

  • former captain and current cadet of Anderson police explorer post #401 here. love the video guys. great job. only one critique if you care, "officer" turned his back to the suspect vehicle on his way back to the squad car after getting the drivers info. remember that between those cars is a no mans land just like fatal funnels. be careful of this if that explorer goes into law enforcement. but outstanding job none the less

  • Gay

  • @DKWegley I'm guessing you are a convicted felon?

  • im a police explorer in new ipswich NH post #3071

  • where was the pat down after the arrest? what if he had a Knife, gun, or key in the back of his pocket or waistband. i would have gotten points taken away from that.

  • GREAT video!!!!! Sorry to hear that your budget was cut though :(

  • Were you guys running with your guns out for the video? Because in my post they teach us that if we are chasing a guy on foot to make sure our weapons are holstered

  • LMFAO!!!

    ohh nooo!! it's the EXPLORERS!!

better not run!! you'll see them at school in the morning!!

  • sooo... basically, these guys stop you, you dont have to show them anything because they are not granted legal authority over you right?

  • @MrMegaWolfeman No, explorers are not police officers.

  • Cool video.

  • just a tip your going to slow your self down running with your gun like that at :32secs

  • Thank God they dont carry fire arms, poor children would shoot theyre own toes off. Your NOT cops, You might be a cop WANNA BE. And thats ok, just dont think your GOD, in an Explorer Halloween Costume.

  • @MostThomas from a 52-year old man you sound like your 13. If this is what you think of the kids in this program aspiring to be law enforcement officers someday then you really must have a problem. Either you're a man with a bad record or you're just plain stupid. It's hard work being an police explorer, emt explorer or fire explorer. These kids have their heads screwed on correctly doing what their doing; so please... grow up.

  • @MostThomas We know we are not cops. You don't see us in patrol cars roaming around the city right? So we know we aren't cops "yet". So basically you are saying if a kid plays football in high school he is a wanna be NFL player.

  • @MostThomas dude im a police explorer and i take pride in what i do so cut the shit and stop being a dick are you jelous of them having nice uniforms and being able to do stuff and you dont come on dude grow up

  • @MostThomas talk all your shit your just sad ..........you sit at home with your fat ass looking at porn.. you just wish you could do have the thing us explorers do...

  • Thank God they dont carry fire arms, poor children would shoot theyre own toes off.

  • Lame, You guys will simply do time in prison for over stepping authority.

  • @MostThomas you're an idiot Thomas

  • Do explorers get to drive a police car?

  • @windstorm1924 only in controlled situations. Not on State highways.. for scenario based reasons.. high risk stops.. etc. Explorers are NOT cops.. just a program for young adults who want to be cops.

  • they got little fagts in the wings. they cant wait to enforce the police state. come patrol the southside of chi, we got something for ya

  • thats awfully a young cop.

  • @brandon10175 not a police officer. "Explorer" ...just a cadet program for young adults. They don't carry firearms or have arresting powers. Much like boy scouts. A good program to say the least, I had fun. :)

  • whats the name of the song?

  • @PDExplorer193 Gargoyles Theme by Carl Johnson

  • Protect your family, shoot a cop

  • @fghsnljsdfg Be nice.

  • Forgot to search him before you put him in car also.

  • You should never run with your firearm pointed above your waistband.

  • @PolishSk1ll yup.

  • @PolishSk1ll are you kidding me, so what your saying is that in a combat situation you should be moving in such a way that you can not easily eliminate the adversary should they start to engage you? is that what you are saying? there are more tactical ways of moving then putting youre weapon down "below the waist" so it takes about 3 seconds to bring it to firing position, if your still alive by those three seconds.

  • hey im with sheriff explorers post #501 in humboldt county.

nice vid, can someone tell me what the first song was? thanks

  • @350z350zify thanks for your support! If you watch the video all the way through the music titles are listed in the credits.

    Miles Stipek

    Fmr. Snohomish Co. Sheriff Explorer

  • dude jjrglobal you are the biggest moron ever.

  • nice

  • i agree we are simply observerers to learn about the field if we want to become cops or not that is completly differerent than hitler youth

  • wow man I really wanna join this program and im 15!!

  • you guys get to drive in ur post ... luckyyyy

  • pretty epic

  • And what's with all this crap about us Explorers all being racist and the Hitler yout of America? I mean really...? You guys oughta be ashamed of yourselves for your own sheer stupidity. Oh btw, there was less of a threat of him passing the T-bar because the door was opened as it was.

  • jrglobal sounds like an ill-informed person... WHO HAD FUN AT WINTERFEST IN GATLINBURG?

  • 0:40 the last thing you want to do is run with a gun pointed at someone, what are they teaching you?

  • @backatchalol that has probably been brought up over hundred times since this video was uploaded in 2006. I believe they got the picture..

  • never pass the B pillar

  • Nazi youth program it worked fdor Hilter

  • @jjrglobal Um, explorers don't write tickets or enforce the law of any kind. They're simply Boy Scouts on steroids. Stop being such a radical weirdo

  • @tricofilms

Ummm aren't the fools that become explorers doing this so that they can become burdens on the people, I mean police officers or public servants later in life?

  • @tricofilms yeah a boy scout that can kick your ass. am an explorer bet anything you wont call me a boy scout if you take a look at me.

  • @jjrglobal ummm...your logic is flawed.

The hitler youth program also included an unhealthy dose of racism as did all nazi programs.Secondly the Hitler youth was required this was on a voluntary basis.

You just used possibly the worst argument against an organization, relating it to Hitler. i cant say i disagree with you on the part about not needing cops but being a fire explorer i disagree on being able to afford government employees.

  • @jjrglobal Ummm you have no idea what you're talking about. Learn some history, then quote it. And dont bash the people keeping you safe

  • @jjrglobal Funny people say they dont want more cops, but next time something bad happen they are gonna call the cops and wonder why they took so long to respond.

  • @jjrglobal I have been an Explorer for two years, its ok, we dont do anything like the hitler youth. At least so far I havent had to kill my favorite pet.

  • @jjrglobal well, i love being an explorer, im probably the most bad ass kid in my whole school. so fuck you.

  • @jjrglobal your a complete retard! I hope you know this hahahahaha! WHAT A DUMB ASS!

  • @jjrglobal Its Ok u may hate the cops but when someone has broken into your house and your sitting in a coroner crying for help... don't call the police.

  • @cahpSON Yes excercise your 2nd ammendment rights and call for an ambulance

  • Are explorers a civilian vigilante group?

  • I just want to say to all Explorers, as a Deputy Sheriff in Texas I appreciate your effort and you have chosen a rewarding career. If you apply for a department and don't get hired don't ever give up. I applied for 4 different departments and all 4 turned me down and one department decided to hire me and 26 years later I'm still with the force. I was never an Explorer I just knew my destiny was Law Enforcement don't ever give up!

  • As a Deputy Sheriff I saw several mistakes the explorer made, first he let the driver reach back towards the back seat for his registration, second he did not have the suspect spread out far enough when he made the pat search, and I noticed the drivers hands was not on the steering wheel, and I always appoach the vehicle on the passenger side, on a night stop my overhead lights are in the inside mirror and my spotlight is in the drivers side mirror. Other than that good traffic stop!

  • im in the police explorers with clovis pd in cal

  • I Was A Police Explorer and a police cadet . I got to drive the city police car's and help with traffic accident's and i got to assist the police in all kinds of activity's an event's that needed to be done. I was one that really pay attention because i am in the process of going to the police academy so where are you all located at what state i know california has had some major rough budget cuts

  • Portland Maine Police Explorer Post 2671

  • good video clip however if these explorers are going to lear the right way, never run with a gun pulled out, leads to accidental discharge...wow...and never run after a suspect before securing the perp car, other than hat idont see any other safety concerns

  • ECSO EXPLORER POST 117 ALL THE WAY!!

  • Lucky Bastards I wish we had those Explorer programs around here I've wanted to become a cop since 2nd grade but I've only got 3 more years of high school

  • Asheville Police Department in North Carolina has one. We have cheap uniforms though. Red shirt that says APD, Exlporer on it. Khaki Cargo pants and black shoes.....Same plastic red guns lol Actually kind of fun to carry around though.

  • This is an amazing video I wish my department had an explorer program.

  • I just went from being an NCO in civil air patrol to explorers, definately enjoy explorers more than I ever did in C.A.P

  • what wing were you from?

  • I was a explorer..I am 21 now so I'm done. But anyway, I got a letter from a local Police Department I applied at and it said I was rank 4 of 24 remaining applicants(113 started the process). Being a explorer really helped my oral board in making me a better applicant.

  • Good job! And good luck with the rest of the hiring process!

  • Im brand new to the whole explorer thing (just comepleted my 3rd week and i am lovein it!)

    But anywas good vid!

  • Thanks, it was a joy to work on. =]

  • Thanks man, the explorer program was something I'll always be proud of. It was a great program. I was 18 in this video, I'm 21 now and actively applying for law enforcement. Stay motivated!

  • Great video indeed, someday.. Our post will be elite like that haha, but one thing I wanted to point out, when you get the suspects DL/Registration.. Never sit back in your vehicle, makes a easy target, even at night when the light curtains are applied

  • i'm the lieutenant for our explorer's group in fayetteville, ga. post 1200 and this is AMAZING what these young men have done! We hope to be as good as this someday, we're brand new..so we'll have to see

  • Thank you! Our explorer post has actually been shut down. Budget just isn't there anymore, sadly. Good luck with your group!!

  • Wow..really?! That's really sad...i'm sorry to hear that..thanks for sharing this

  • @tricofilms actually the post is still up and running. It just had to cut back meetings to twice a month instead of every Monday due to budget cuts.

  • @fayeannecatherine91 you wanna know what? FUCK THE POLICE you asshole.... youll never get my weed

  • @fayeannecatherine91 Oh. Your not to far from Jacksonville Fl. Thats were im going to start pretty soon.

  • you have a really good exploroer post, ours is nothing compared to this

  • Holster your gun when before you chase someone, epic fail

  • Haha, who's the bloke running whist he's holding his firearm in both hands aimed at the running offender?. haha fail

  • Great video

how did the Sheriff's let you use their squad cars?

Myself I'm with the Schaumburg Police dept. Post #31

  • We were in a rather large fair grounds parking lot, and for the video, i was allowed to use a couple squad cars that were no longer in use. Of course a deputy was observing, it was fun times though! :)

  • i am FINALLY an explorer for ellis county sheriff dept. i love it (post 106)

  • In the State of Minnesota, Our departments find it to be a safety hazard to let the explorers drive the police cars. Sucks..... (post 2763)

  • Epic Fail

  • looks like a blast! I would get involved, but I really don't think I am going into Police. I am actually starting an EMS explorer course soon, that is where my calling is at. But police explorers looks like a great program.

  • wat do u mean they dnt run ,they ran at 0:40

  • man u need a lot of work

  • do u know anything about elis county texas........,, thats where im gettin in at

  • Well made, however the officer shouldn't of turned his back to the vehicle, and also should of told the driver the P.C. for the stop, and arrest, the officers P.O.I was also bad, also should of had a second officer to watch the second subject

  • I didn't turn my back on the vehicle, if you noticed I was turning my head to look back at the jeep as I walked back to my patrol car. We're not taught to walk backwards in this county.

Keep in mind this video was put together with footage for the "Recruitment Video." This film here wasn't suppose to be accurate to the book. I had the crown victoria there for backup, but since the Explorer had to leave early, I only had the car, no second officer. Thanks for watching it though :)

  • that is the song from the gargoyles! isn't it?

  • Yep!

  • very well made.

  • Also, you knew you were going to arrest him the second time you went to the car. So the moment you had him step out of the car, you should have right away put his hands behind his back. Poor pat down too. I'm an explorer also. Keep up the good work :)

  • Good video, but I would have handled the situation a bit better. You should have told the driver and passenger to put their hands on the steering wheel and dash board before you got there. In the video, it shows them fumbling around. If you would have told them right off the bat to put hands on steering wheel and dash board, they wouldn't have gotten a chance to do anything.

  • This Video is Cool I Am An Explorer From Waterbury,Ct Post 4141. And It Is Cool

  • Cool video i might join explorers next year looks like fun and good experience for my future career as a law enforcement officer :) 5/5 stars!

  • Shut up and get back to playing your harpsichord you computer nerd

  • Are you done?

  • did ever think that the reason someone may do this program is just because they need community service and volunteer hours. It looks really good on a college application.

  • hell yeah they always use us the clean parks and plant and open doors wtf im stuck in it i dont know how to get out cuz i am nervous to say anything ugh!!1

  • Well, an explorer post probably has no interest in having a fool like you in it...

  • and i have no intrest in being with them

  • That's some nice Nazi youth music playing in the background.I bet those kids can't wait to shoot Americans when they issue martial law. That's gonna be one hell of a video game for them.

  • You have a twisted imagination my friend.

  • By JENNIFER STEINHAUER NY Times

    Published: May 13, 2009

IMPERIAL, Calif. — Ten minutes into arrant mayhem in this town near the Mexican border, and the gunman, a disgruntled Iraq war veteran, has already taken out two people, one slumped in his desk, the other covered in blood on the floor.

The responding officers — eight teenage boys and girls, the youngest 14 — (Explorer drill)

  • Your point is duly noted; however, you fail to realize that the explorer program is a system built on training young individuals law enforcement tactics for a future career in the field. Oh, and Carl Johnson (whom I know personally) and Hans Zimmer are not Nazi youth composers. Thanks for your comment(s)

  • Good to see young individuals, youngest age 14, are learning how to deal with these individuals so when one tries to come kick your ass they will respond and save your ass... Or when you try to murder someone they will come and kick your ass... Sounds Nazi to me?!

  • Well if you trying to call them Nazi I would advise you to quit speaking about your self like that so badly. Now you go and play a video game, appears you may play too much video games as it is. Buh bye

  • futonn360: I agree. This program is a monumentally bad idea! Giving children this level of responsibility is such a bad idea that words can't describe it. Most of these kids probably think that it's cool to point a weapon and people and boss them around, and have no concept of the Constitution or their responsibilities as peace officers. I fear that our gov't will force Americans to kill children while in the defense of liberty, which will end up making Patriots look like monsters.

  • Stop being a fool, all your assumptions are utterly ridiculous. Just don't call the police when you're in dyer need for them- it seems like you can solve your own problems.

  • The Explorer might want to work on taking the license/registration papers into his hands a little bit less roughly when he's dealing with real-life drivers. If the driver's amped up on meth or even if he's just nervous about being pulled over by the cops, that kind of a gesture from a cop could well be viewed as hostile and confrontational.

  • iam in the ems exploerer and they let us ride and they are putting us through first responder

  • Thats cool, I would of done EMS if the politics wasn't so ridiculous out here.

  • i hate how, other departments let their explorers do so much. our department is lacking funds. (post:454)

  • Agreed. My Post is fun but is lacking major fund's . post :2763

  • lol im with explorer post 1289 (ambulance core)

  • failure to recite miranda rights....a defense lawyer would have a field day.

  • You only need to read them if you plan on questioning the suspect later to gather further evidence.

  • dude where did u get the cop cars? did the pd let u guys use them gust for this vid?

  • Yeah ;)

  • As an explorer (and with a drivers license) the deputy in charge of resources for this video let myself and a fellow explorer use a couple patrol cars in a very large parking lot for the video. I'm glad you like it :)

  • more like "dont run with your guns out in front of you...keep an eye on ur passenger so you don't get shot, don't open the car door until you're ready to extract them by putting their hands interlocked with yours etc." and why is this not high risk if he's a suspected drug dealer/trafficker? hmm...guess that's why this is a movie :)

  • Thanks for all the comments guys, I left this post in January of 2008 - but it was a great life experience. I had so much fun as an explorer, the program really taught me a lot. I'm currently getting into federal law enforcement as a U.S. Border Patrol agent, I test next week =]

  • Nice job! Good looking uniforms!

    Check out my explorer video

  • This is an excellent video. Explorer programs are great for young men and women. Many of our deputies were at one point a sheriff's explorer.

    Thanks for posting the video.

  • Good job. Couple mistaks but good net time search the suspect befor placeing him in the back of your patol car.
