My science teacher told us a story about when she used to live in China: a friend of hers wanted to save a dog's life (a dog which was going to be sold as food), so they went to the market, and she asked for one of the dogs. As they were talking she turned around to pay and saw a plastic bag with the dog already dead and skinned inside. Gave it to a Chinese friend of hers. Sad and funny at the same time huh?!
She's just having a laugh at him. Most Chinese don't eat these things. Like she said.. they are famine food. . not something modern CHinese eat on a regular basis.
