  • Hey look everyone, it's our very own version of the Taliban. I think Mike, Rick Santorum, Michele Bachmann and the rest of these bigots should go live in Iran, Syria or Saudi Arabia a few years. Then they might just understand what happens when civil laws and constitutions are made subservient to sky fairies.

  • ahahha what a dumbass

  • now this really is UN-AMERICAN.

  • Wow! Really? He want's to change the rules to fit his religion. What about all the other religions not to mention all the ppl not even interested in religion!!

  • Hard to believe a pastor would recommend this. One should read Bondage of the Will three times.

  • Change it how though? So you don't have to be a citizen to become president or a Natural Born Citizen???!

  • @JDRoberto You're probably right but what about other religious faiths? We have already seen the anit-muslim factions sticking thier ugly faces out there. Would outlawing Islam be in the offering? His rhetoric is extremely dangerous to freedoms.

  • @JDRoberto The religious right wants a theocracy complete with a religious test for the Presidency. This is a dangerous trend in american politics, beware.

  • Aren't these the same people who say that we should defend the Constitution? Wait, lets change it??????

  • @jimitl5 It is and its also the same people who keep saying that government should not interfer with our lives. What bullshit, the reason they want to amend the constitution is so that we have to live by the standards they want. HYPOCRITIES!

  • omg did he really say this???? crazy nut....

  • I believe in God... but i also believe my relationship with Him is my own... so i keep it out of everyone business.

I don't want to change any written document.

If Huckabee doesn't like a Godless government he could leave.

After all, America governs itself. and God governs all. Isn't that the way it's supposed to work?

  • Amend the Constitution to reflect God's standard huh? I suppose that'd pretty much get rid of the whole first amendment "freedom of religion thing" wouldn't it? Pretty sure god said something about no other gods before him..."the problem with Theocracy is everyone wants to be Theo"

  • Ya, unfortunately Hitler was crazy, Huck is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better, but then, you'd believe anything.

  • @Jem93rocks Huck is pretty delusional, and I think that's a pretty objective opinion. That makes him crazy.

  • The constitution protects us against totalitarianism with the statement that all laws should be secular and no law can be passed to promote or inhibit religion. That gives christians their rights without infringing on the rights of others. If you want more than that then you are being a totalitarian. Christians submit to one central control figure. If you want to do that then you should have the right to, but don't forcibly impose it on others. That is a violation of the rights of others.

  • This guy is a supreme clown! I'm glad he didn't win off of his look how much I believe in God campaign!

  • At least Huckabee knew that the Constitution in't ALREADY Christianity-based, unlike so many of his followers in this thread, and also unlike Ron "Champion of the Constitution" Paul who wrote in December, 2003 that the Constitution is "REPLETE WITH references to God."

  • "And I don't have to apologize to anybody...

    Our Creator...read the Constitution."

I did. It doesn't mention God (except in the use of the formal dating system accepted at the time of spelling out the English translation of "Anno Domini" for years), nor the Creator, at all.

Were you perhaps thinking of the Declaration of Independence? It does mention "their Creator" and "Nature's God," but both were Deist euphemisms at the time.

  • huckabee is awesome. You guyz are just paranids.

  • i'll put my money that huckabee is also a secret society member.

    freemason, knights of malta...

even if one was to be all for living according to good morals or the teachings of a certain religion, ironically it is precisely the divorce of state and religion that allows religion to abound.

  • ...There is nothing secret about the knights of malta, they only do not allow anyone that is not born in it join.

  • 87% of Americans believe in GOD. You are in the minority if you don't. Huckabee wants an amendment to the constitution to save the lives of babies who are being murdered. Just like we amended the constitution to stop slavery. No difference! You folks are lame.

  • Even if that were true (and it's a biased survey that resulted in that statistic), that's still 13% that do not believe in God. That's a bigger minority than Blacks!

Our system of government is NOT a democracy. It's a REPUBLIC which was SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED to prevent the majority from ruling absolutely. Among the very first words in the Declaration (past the opening) is the declaration that we're based on RIGHTS. You cannot have Rights in a Democracy, nor vice-versa.

  • Just because there is a minority, that doesn't mean they are wrong.

  • What a scary thought, people with that type of mentality shouldnt be in power.

  • yet he was named one of the top 5 governors when he was in office, so maybe he gots something there.

  • you have to have a mentality to understand anyone's mentality. Did you graduate?

  • Mark Twin was once quoted: "The Bible and the flag are used by scoundrels to hide behind". Get out from behind the Bible Mike! What you're basically saying is elect me and let me play GOD. Fu*k You Huckster!

  • Who is god, Huck? You? Last I checked, "God" could have cared less about the US Constitution. He was into saving souls, not worrying about the laws of some dinky nation that hasn't been around long enough to even merit being called "the Holy Land."

  • This man needs to get back to doing his bible-thumping from a church pew and stay out of the politics of the sheep-minded.

"Religion is seen as true by the common man, as false by the wise, and as useful by rulers."

    -Lucius Seneca

  • can you here that hes saying hey lets forget about the 1st amendment we dont need it

  • Scary shit - I'm surprised this one didn't make the nightly news, primetime. If it was, I never saw it.

So glad this freak is out of the race.

  • His kind is not out of the race. It's not about individuals.

  • hahahahaha iam so glad this fuckers out.

  • Thomas Jefferson would be turning over in his grave.

  • "God who gave us life gave us liberty Can the liberties of a nation be secure when we have removed a conviction that these liberties are the gift of God? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just that His justice cannot sleep forever"

    --Thomas Jefferson

  • George Washington was a Christian and when G Washington took the oath of office on April 30, 1789 the Bible was opened to Deuteronomy 28 and after saying the oath GW said, "So help me God" & he bent forward & kissed the Bible before him.

  • "In every country and in every age, the priest has been hostile to liberty. He is always in alliance with the despot, abetting his abuses in return for protection to his own." - Thomas Jefferson

  • oh dear.

  • god isnt real you dumbfuck

  • If you are speaking to me I would appreciate if you used some decency. It's pretty hard to care what you are talking about when you use such filthy words and absolutist statements. "god isnt real" I'm sorry you feel that way. I happen to know he is. You trying to tell me the miracles I've experienced, the prayers I've had met were just coincidence or getting lucky? Try again. But I think your name speaks loud enough of the type of person you really are and how pointless me responding to you is.

  • Youll be "suprised" to find that selective memory plays a huge role in supposed "miracles of prayer" and when statistically encounted they are no more than "coincidences". I personally with my own experience can tell you that when i was a christian prayer really didnt do anything for me.

  • you are using an absolutist statement as well: "god is real"

and by the way, fuck isn't a magic word, its just a random collection of sounds that for some reason you people are offended by

  • Re junctioneden's "I'm sorry you feel that way": It's not about feelings. Feelings are irrelevant to the question. It's about whether the 'god'-concept provides any leverage to the enterprise of understanding how the world works or not. To point at a contrasting example, consider the 'electron' concept and how it helps predict what will happen if you, say, construct a 10Kv transformer and attach its output leads across your heart. If eyehatejesus had said electrons are not real, . . .

  • I know without a doubt that if the founders of our country heard some of the comments people are making here and elsewhere they would kill themselves for thinking the future generations could be intelligent enough to understand their intentions. Here you are spitting on Christians and God and lying about how God has no place in our nation when if you actually read just about any founding document you would not be able to deny their staunch support of His inclusion in government. Ignorance.

  • our founding fathers were illuminati, but thats another matter..they were also deists, do you know what that is? thats where god is real but doesnt interfere in the lives of people or the world, he just sets up the dominos and watches em fall, thats it..you sir are a fuckin loon if you think an invisible man in the sky really cares about you and loves you and answers your petty wishes, wise the fuck up

  • i love the george carlin reference

  • Don't be so sure that huckabee is gone. Let me paint a scenario:

    1. Mccain picks huckabee as his running mate to capture evangelical voters.

    2. Democrats fuck up the general election because they are divided during the primaries.

    3. Mccain wins the general, but is so old he dies during the inauguration speech.

    4. Huckabee becomes president and renames the u.s.a. to "jesusland".

    5. I move to canada.

  • No point. Are you aware of the North American Union? Moving to Canada or Mexico wont escape these evil mother fuckers.

  • I'd be willing and able to go to war with jesusland to stop the NAU from becoming reality.

Now that would be a just and noble cause for war.

  • lets all move to australia.

  • I'm a straight up atheist: didn't he hear about separation of church and state?

  • WOOO FUCKABEE IS GONE!

  • fuck huckabee fuck christainity

  • ha haa what a joke

  • Christianity needs to die a fast death.

  • what a douche

  • i shit on the bible and christain "morals"

  • Religion+government=tyranny for those who dare to believe in the 'wrong' religion.

  • ROFL I would really like this quote as a ringtone. It never ceases to make me laugh.

  • "God who gave us life gave us liberty. And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are a gift from God?" - Thomas Jefferson (Principle Author of the Declaration of Independance).

  • by amending the constitution to restict rights he is voiding it and it is putting HIS beliefs on it which affects EVERYBODY so yes he is pushing on us fuck him and fuck you i will never bow.

  • Someone should punch Huckabee in his stupid fundamentalist face.

  • Why is that? Is it because you are an intolerant bigot who can't stand anyone who believes something different than you? How arrogant.

  • or it could be the fact that huckabee would rather change the constitution, the reason why you have the freedoms you have in this country(it may not be perfect buts its more than other countries),than the word of god which not EVERYONE believes.

  • let someone tell me i have to live my life by the bible and i don't have a choice they will get cut noone tells me what to believe we have freedom of religion and that means ALL RELIGIONS not just christainity and we have the right to not believe in religion and what he's trying to do is make it to where you have to believe in his god or elses sounds like nazism to me.

  • we don't need the constitution changed to reflect his personal beliefs thats forcing his religion on the whole country we have freedom of religion not just one religion so fuck huckabee and fuck people that support him.

  • The Constition and freedom of religion were created by those who shared Huckabee's faith. And who in the WORLD ever said that Huckabee was forcing you to become a Christian? Why do you people have such a hard time understanding that just because someone is your president doesn't mean he dictates what you have to believe. Only left-wingers do that.

  • If religion has no place in government, why did the founding fathers believe that faith in God was so vital to the survival of the US and the upholding of the Constitution? And everyone has a religion. Atheism, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism. Perhaps you believe we should be ruled by people who don't believe anything at all - robots perhaps? Or maybe an Atheist who believes that human being have no intrinsic value, like Stalin who killed millions of his own people.

  • fuck southern baptists i was raised to believe that bullshit but iam awake now and see the truth fuck him and what he plans to do to this country i like having a choice in my beliefs and i believe in abortion it's the right of the person to decide not government and yeah with food already in short supply all we need is thousends of mouths to feed everyday more trees to cut down and more animales homes to distroy just to make room for all of us and the millions more children every year.

  • What did you wake up to? Atheism? Haha. Don't be so passionate about a worldview that is so meaningless, afterall you are just evolved pondscum, haha. You haven't woken up, you've been duped into believing leftist propaganda about overpopulation. And by the way, it is the leftists who are taking away civil liberties like freedom of religion. Christians have always supported freedom of religion, hence the Consitution of the United States.

  • The Constitution was not written by christians. This country was not founded as a christian nation. Christians are free to practice their religion and all freethinkers agree, but if you start using the Government to force it on everyone you will start a bloodbath. There will be ZERO tolerance for any attempt to subvert our Republic by trying to turn it into a Theocratic Dictatorship.

  • Bah, descent from pondscum is better subservience to an intangible and unprovable concept.

  • thats fucking bullshit christains want to take away as many freedoms as possible to FORCE people to believe inthere bullshit and keep people as ignorent as you. as for religion and the rightist fuck you all i believe in freedom for all gay, straight,bi,weedsmokers, everybody you and your so-called "freedom -loving christain" don't want equal rights they want hate, bigotry, intolerence for all. so you tell me who's for freedom and who's for total enslavement of the human race?.

  • "Enslavement of the human race"... extreme much? Christians have never tried to take away your freedoms. Christians believe in freedom. What you are spewing is bigotry. It is people like you that spread hate for Christians. Christians aren't against EQUAL rights. Gays HAVE equal rights. We are against SPECIAL rights which erode the freedoms of others. In Canada you can go to jail for saying you believe homosexuality is wrong. We are losing freedoms because of the stupidity you are preaching.

  • what ur spewing is what i push out in the toilet. christains have been the biggest threat to freedom and liberty in this country since it's inception so learn ur facts b4 blabbering bullshit

  • fuck huckabee the constitution does not need changing. we were not founded on gods laws so keep your religion to your self.

  • Haha, dude, maybe you should study American history. America and the Constitution were founded on Christian principles and the Bible. The US government no longer abides by the Constitution, whether it needs changing or not. Funny that you are FOR a Constitution oenned by those who believed in the Bible but you are against the Bible and Christianity. Are you against the Declaration of Independance and the Right to Life as well?

  • iam for the constitution and the bill of rights because they grant us freedom what he's trying to do is restrict freedoms and thats not what those documents are about. i don't like religion because it's my choice and i will not have there beliefs pushed on me. and we where founded on freedom of religion not one religion so no this is not a christain nation if fact it should be a native american nation but columbus and them stole it.

  • If you believe this crap then you ARE NOT AN AMERICAN.

  • Without cultural sanction, most or ALL of our religious beliefs and rituals would fall into the domain of mental disturbance. - John F. Schumaker

  • not a Huckabee fan but anyone who can't see that a human fetus is human just doesn't want to see the truth. Do a little research and it is obvious. via con Dios

  • I'm pretty sure Huckabee's talking about an amendment to ban gay marriage, not abortion (although he does oppose Roe v Wade as well.)

  • Wow...how is this guy even in politics?

The guy should stick to preaching in Our Kansas.

  • You're right, who needs a statesman who wants believes in freedom when we can left a bunch of secular leftists erode our rights and implant us with RFID chips, in the name of "democracy" of course. But I suppose if you are satisfied with politicians today then why desire change in government.

  • What ever happened to separation of church and state?

  • US Constitution has 27 ammendments

1st Addresses the rights of freedom of religion

prohibiting Congressional establishment of a religion

    over

    another religion through Law

& protecting the right to free exercise of religion

    freedom of speech

    of the press

    of assembly

    of petition

  • right...

    what's your point?

  • The 1st amendment clearly states: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..."

and Thomas Jefferson, one of the greatest American presidents, coined the phrase "building a wall of separation between church and state".

  • In the Capitol's Chapel is a stained glass window depicting George Washington in prayer under the inscription "In God We Trust." Also, a prayer is inscribed in the window which says, "Preserve me, God, for in Thee do I put my trust"

During the first meeting of the Continental Congress in September 1774, George Washington prayed alongside the other delegates. And they recited Psalm 35 together as patriots.

  • Yes, but many leaders also had slaves. The act of an individual does not reflect society as a whole.

True, there are individual instances in which state and church do intermix, but as a whole, the American society has strived to keep the two separate as that is one of the major reasons this great nation was founded.

  • missmarleneoh. Bill of rights Amendment 1. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof...

  • huckabee is a SICKO... just to hear his name makes me sick....

  • I believe many are taking this comment in a completely wrong way. The only amendments he's talking about would be a constitutional amendment defining marriage between one man and one woman, and an amendment that would ban abortion. So the idea that he's some completely out there religious nut who's going to make all these crazy amendments to the Constitution - remember that the president can't actually do anything to the Constitution - is too far fetched. That's alarmism.

  • Theses are the exact type of amendments I, and many Americans, fear. Each individual American may choose whether or not they believe in gay marriage or abortion. However, the government, cannot makes choices based on religious beliefs. The only true arguments against gay marriage and abortion are founded on religious beliefs that not every American shares. The government is an entity representing ALL the people. The government cannot play favoritism.

  • Abortion is Murder of a defenseless person.

In 2005 1.21 million abortions were performed in the United States.

  • An unborn fetus is not a person.

  • Moody

  • oh my gosh a fetus develops in the womb, congratulation, you dolt

  • A fetus is not more intelligent or emotionally sophisticated than an animal. So you're against killing defenseless animals as well then, I assume.

  • Hi laffer,

Do not change the subject to killing defenseless animals. However, being as you have, there are laws to protect animals. People can be prosicuted for animal abuse.

A fetus is human. Humans have souls. Animals do not.

What so you have against innocent unborn babies?

  • You can kill animals and we do so every day, for no good reason. There are lawas against animal cruelty but you can still kill them if you do so humanely.

And I don't believe humans have souls. You'd have to prove that to me before that argument would have any weight.

  • Actually, the Bible doesn't support the assertion that unborn babies should be considered persons with souls.

SEVEN TIMES in Numbers Chapter 3 ALONE, and at least one other time in Numbers, God flatly states that persons under the age of ONE MONTH •AFTER• BIRTH are NOT COUNTED as persons!

In Leviticus, He even gives a MONETARY value for persons based on age and gender. For EITHER gender, under age 1 month, the value is NONE. ZERO. NADA. ZILCH.

  • I reject the idea that objections can only be made on religious grounds. With regards to abortion, it is a scientific fact that life begins at conception and when an abortion is done, something dies. The irony, is that in the crusade for tolerance and the understanding, everyone is accepted except Christians! Isn't there a freedom of speech? A right to disagree? I guess not for Christians. For now the gay lifestyle is being pushed down every one's throat and dissenters are hateful bigots.

  • Yes, dissenters are hateful bigots. Christianity is a superstition and if you believe that being gay is wrong than you have been successfully brainwashed by the best selling fiction of all times. People like you like to use religion to justify your hate and prejudice. And I defen your right You disagree but it doesn't make you any less hateful and prejudice. It isn't a scientific fact life begins at conception. I bet you believe masterbation is murder too.

  • I agree with you that unfortunately many, perhaps even with good intentions, have yelled out damnation without seeming to care about the person, and sometimes not really caring at all. Ultimately, if you knew that someone was, say, unknowingly going to go drive off a cliff, wouldn't you want to tell them about it?

  • Anyone that claims to be a follower of Christ, but is hateful, is certainly not one. In fact, Jesus never went after those bad sinners, he went after the hypocritical religious leaders. He did tell them to change the way they were living, but he lovingly reached out to them where they were at at and called to them to come and have a better life. "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." (John 10:10)

  • Let me remind Huckabee of this:

Art. 11. "...the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion..."

-- The Treaty of Tripoli (the Treaty of Peace and Friendship) 1796

  • THANK YOU!!! finally somebody else has actually READ it!!! I have been waiting a long time for someone else to say something about that.

  • Not a problem. I'm just glad my statement's appreciated.

  • If Huckabee manages to win, by some hellish chance, there is no way I'm staying in this country. It's one thing to lead a country in one political direction - it's another to force your religion on the entire country through the power of the executive branch. That's called fascism, kids.

  • @pinkhaw

sorry buddy bud my english is not that good,i can´t translate that so i makes sence to me.

  • Christian morals my ass. Why is it then that Southern Baptists have among the highest rate of divorce in the country? You can't run a country on the believe that God is going to do all the heavy lifting for you. If this man was elected president I would move.

  • The only double standard is this doublespeak. It's a great Democratic sound bite. But not reality. Check the record!

  • right here and how, give me the record to check PAgo4mike. you're so god damned smart, show us all where the record is, you fucking lying so called "christian" asshole.

  • Funny no1 asks him about his son torturing, hanging and slitting the throat ofa stray dog. Sick behavior? Certainly| Also very odd to me that the selfprofessed Christian would rather try to cover up this bit of darkness rather than get real help for his son. I read that he even had an Atlanta state trooper fired because he wouldn't drop the case. A true Christian would want his son to make amends, do volunteer work while getting professional help|I'm a Christian and Huckabee will not get my vote

  • yes Ytuber505, my philosohphy is never trust a "born again southern christian", they're the scarest type people alive.

these people sin more than most on a daily basis, hate more, are more ignorant & bigoted than any group save nazies.

yet they think if they use the word "god" they can go on being disgusting human beings

ask for forgiveness, then go out & continue sinning, with "god on their side"!

they're the most disgusting "christians" adrift in a lala land of their own making.

  • If an individual does not want a baby, he/she has other options than abortion. Abstinence, the pill/patch, or GET FIXED! That's being responsible. Abortion is irresponsible! These other options are cheaper with less scars physically and emotionally. And where are the so-called "men" who father these unwanted children and run away? If these so-called "men" would pay for each and every abortion they "father", maybe there would be fewer unwanted pregnancies. Time for these "men" to step up!

  • Hey, PAgo4MIKE. What about cases of rape? What about situations where women use birth control, and _still_ get pregnant? Do you honestly think that the government, or any religion, has the right to force its views on a woman?

Because the answer is no. If you're a woman; fine, choose to avoid having an abortion. But don't advocate the destruction of the practice just because you personally don't agree with it.

  • You should thank God he cares about you too stand in the gap of or living God for you by the way do you know untoply6 sounds like you both right aww smart..

  • Well if it takes being stupied to get to Heaven I'm all for it.God I pray you open this REAL SMART PERSON EYES SO THEY Can become stuped and go to heaven too AMEN

  • I reeeeeeally hope this guy won't be running your country! Christians are pretty scary sometimes!

  • If conservatives are so hot and horny for the sanctity of marriage, why don't they outlaw divorce? Isn't that the biggest threat to marriage these days, by order of about 60%????

  • seperate church and state.that´s a most do,otherwise there will still be wars only because someone thinks his god is the better choice.that´s exactly what happend in the past a lot of times before.btw if we take away the religious card the neo cons can´t use it anymore against us, the people.

  • Huckabee is one of the scariest people and represents one of the scariest groups. Force their religious views on everyone just as the radical Muslims do in Arab countries? It all started simply in Nazi Germany with one group losing rights. I am willing to leave them alone to practice their religion if they will leave me alone.

Also, a push for their views would seem to make the USA more of a target for the Jihadists to bring on a religious war.

  • a living god?hm,when was he last seen at mcdonalds?an adult that beliefs in this fairy tale shouldn´t be allowed to candidate for any offical job.

  • this is to marine76er i just don't think that god would even want to go to micky-ds. i think he would prefer a nice organic lunch from a local farm.

  • what the fuck ever. I never liked Mike Huckabee since I first heard of him, but I'm not worried there's no way he's going to win anyways.

  • that shows perfectly what a country is heading to when the leader could be a religious scumback like him.he just said fuck the constitution and they are clapping......stuppid people.

  • holy shit, what clinic has he running away from? you taking realy bad drugs sir, better shot yourself befor hurting others.

so many bullshit going on in the usa atm,i waiting for the day that the first americans try to flee and get shot at the border like in east germany befor the wall came down.

  • Iran would be a better place to live than America if our constitution matched his nutter job ideas.

  • what a nut job

  • It's a good thing Huckabee will never win. It's a gift from god. This guy is insane.

  • No, first Amendment is here to stay.

  • US Constitution has 27 ammendments

1st Addresses the rights of freedom of religion

prohibiting Congressional establishment of a religion

  • schmarcie - The 1st amendment says "CONGRESS SHALL MAKE NO LAW" -- that means that the Federal Gov't cannot pass a law regarding religion or the free exercise thereof. That means a Federal Judge; or Congress themselves cannot prevent a State from making a law regarding religion (or free speech). IT APPLIES TO THE FEDERAL LAW MAKING BODY...

  • Huckabee a theocrat? Utterly ridiculous. He has made it abundantly clear about his stand on separation of Church and State. He was simply saying that he believes in traditional family and against abortion -- all stances held by many people. I see by some of these notes that many people here do not know how to evaluated websites. I guarantee you want to find a site that says what you want it to say, you will find it. It does not mean that what you find is the truth.

  • Fuck that and fuck god

  • gomer pile is running for president?

  • we'll let him put that stuff in the constitution as soon as he puts in the parts about the poor inheriting the earth, loving they neighbor, feeding the hungry, and thou shalt not kill.

  • Huckabee is crucified for his honest open discussion of issues. He supports the right to life and suggests a constitutional amendment to protect life. Other such amendments include women's right to vote and the abolishment of slavery. If you oppose the death penalty, why would you not support the right to life? Funny how the liberals cry out against death penalties, but are the first to line up for abortions! Don't take one sentence from a speech and twist it into something else!

  • I didn't know people could get as misinformed as you are. Resorting to pathetic stereotypes that aren't the slightest bit close to being somewhat accurate. He's honestly speaking his warped, corrupted mind....of course he'll be criticized.

  • George Washington was a Christian and when G Washington took the oath of office on April 30, 1789 the Bible was opened to Deuteronomy 28 and after saying the oath GW said, "So help me God" & he bent forward & kissed the Bible before him.

  • If you wanna be stupid and look at everything through a 1789 viewpoint and standard, go ahead.

  • I much rather look at everything through God's standard-----which transends time.

  • There was me thinking your country was based on separation of church and state. The last thing the world needs is the most powerful country in the world basing actions on what a fairy tale character in a fairy tale book would want.

  • Of all the dispositions & habits which lead to political prosperity religion & morality are indispensable supports In vain would that man claim tribute to patriotism who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness these firmest props of the duties of men and citizens reason & experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principles

    George Washington

  • In the U S Capitol's Chapel

is a stained glass window depicting George Washington in prayer under the inscription

    In God We Trust

A prayer is inscribed in the window which says,

Preserve me God for in Thee do I put my trust

  • MIKE

    Right On!

  • and conservatives are so quick to support a poor defenseless fetus, but the first to turn their heads when they become a starving child in need of public assistance.

  • mirth

I have been on welfare. I have been poor & what you are saying is not true. In fact, I've seen a lot of people abusing welfare system & people who recieve food stamps & government cheese are not starving.

  • Check the records -- Conservatives are more charitable in giving than liberals. It's a proven FACT!

  • Yet, they refuse having money taken out of their pockets with taxes for social programs.

    It's a double standard I see.

  • I'm against the death penalty but I am pro choice. That DOES NOT mean I encourage or support abortions. What a women does with her own body is her business. You don't like abortions, then don't have one.

  • Exactly -- NO RESPONSIBILITY! Sex with no moral obligations. How many women believe their lying partner "LOVED" them and get pregnant? Or Abortionists who won't give up their "LIFE" and become a parent. Free to kill the unloved child! Free to prey on more sex partners and life! When our insurance companies pay for this -- we all do! When planned parenthood programs pay for these - we all do! All because some morally deprived individual chooses to not be responsible for his/her actions!

  • MIKE

    Well Said!

    God bless you!

I watched the March for Life on EWTN this week It is wonderful to see so many young people standing up for the rights of babies, whose voices cannot yet speak for themselves Let no one be decieved--- the babies, whose sex is determined at conception, in their mother's womb--- have a soul & a nervous system

  • Souls are imaginary and a hamster has a nervous system.

  • Development of an embryo

Day 22: heart begins to beat with the child's own blood, often a different type than the mothers'.

Week 3: By the end of third week the child's backbone spinal column and nervous system are forming. The liver, kidneys and intestines begin to take shape.

Week 4: By the end of week four the child is ten thousand times larger than the fertilized egg.

Week 5: Eyes, legs, and hands begin to develop.

  • Hm. I'd rather pay money than see children born to women who don't want them. Even if abortion becomes illegal, women will find ways to abort. Atleast now their safety is ensured.

  • Huckabee is a theocrat. He is no better than the Ayatollah of Iran, and all the other Islamic Totalitarians. And frightenly, Huckabee is not the only Christian theocrat. The whole Republican Party is full of them, and their influence is growing. As much as I despise the left and its economic policies, I just cannot vote for the Reps anymore.

  • You know, I just love how he calls the Constitution "contemporary." Does he even know what the word "contemporary" means?

  • Huckabee loses South Carolina and any real chance to secure the nomination. Mike, I guess God doesn't want you to become President, after all.
