@ShotokanKarateKid100 That will make more sense! I mean how can you compare a Vanilla Game with a heavily moded version of Morrowind, isn't that a little unfair? I mean there's a reason why there's a Morroblivion and not a Obliwind... the engine is vastly superior.
have to wait till the game comes out. i could say that the graphics in skrim are amazing, u can pick jobs and the dragons are so cool. i hope the sense of there are no classes ruins the game for me or the fact there is lesser skills. cant wait to test it all out and see what i think to actually compare the games together. I hope elder scrolls dont stop at skrim because i want to have the feel of the other cultures in the other provinces of Tamriel.
also Oblivion u can buy a house, fight in the arena and many other thing that players wanted to do in morrowind that they couldnt do. Oblivion ruined by RPG sense that u could pick any weapon up and know how to use it. Im not a gamer thats all about the graphics in the game and morrind does have beautiful graphics but oblivion blows there graphic out the water, but like i said im not all about the graphic. In skyrim they dont have classes any more and i do love being a title for something so i-
ive been and elder scrolls fan when i was a kid and got the game daggerfall. Morrowind is a better game for rpg- u have to really build ur character up, u just cant grab any sword and start hacking away like oblivion if ur a mage. i think they did a great job on that. plus u have many many fractions to pick from in morrowind. for in spells u can do alot more in morrowind then in oblivion.. for Oblivion does defeat morrowind by graphics
There are so many enhancement mods for Oblivion, there is no way Morrowind could really compare to Oblivion's graphics. The OOO was one of my favorite ES mods to date, it gave the game that edge it really needed to make the game more challenging and deep. I honestly never got into Morrowind, no matter how many times I reinstalled it. I'm waiting for Skyrim though, to put the past to shame. =)
@lonewarrior250 Go search Morrowind Overhaul Sound & Graphics. It destroys Oblivion on Ultra, no contest. Not to mention Morrowind has a far better graphic style than Oblivion to begin with (Morrowind's is more fantastical and gritty, whereas Oblivion's is more medieval and cartoony).
@megalodoniscool45 I'll give you that, combat was bad. However the story was much more in depth, and at the time the graphics were excellent. It seems that you're trying to argue that Morrowind sucks compared to modern games, and that's completely unfair. Put things in perspective and I believe that more people would respect your opinion. Until then. Fuck off.
MGE definitely. Oblivion was quite a disappointment in comparison to Morrowind. I cannot wait for Skyrim. Its like one video game to rule them all.... (Nerdy LoTR reference)
I hope skyrim turns out better than oblivion. It was a good game, the best RPG in the new gen, but Morrowind surpassed it in every way except for graphics and combat animations.
@lowhigh000 You are wrong sir, Morrowind surpasses Oblivion by far, and is MUCH larger than Oblivion. Can you wear clothing under robes in Oblivion? No. Is there even an unarmored skill in Oblivion? No sir. Do you get NEARLY as much lore in Oblivion as you do in Morrowind? Never. Have you ever met a god or Divine figure in Oblivion? Not a chance. The only thing oblivion really has is somewhat decent graphics, And even then it's one of the most bugged games I know!
@TheAnonymousization Dude calm down we are all fans of the best series out there, morrowind was a great game but oblivion focused more on combat then expanse, even though it is a very large game, just chill out, we love eldar scrolls
I don't understand the hate for fast travel. If you want to use it, then by all means go right ahead. If you don't like then just don't use it. I personally welcome it. There were times in Oblivion where I wanted to explore the shit out of the world and other times (the dark brotherhood quests come to mind) where I just wanted to do a quest and not have to go through a cross country trek. In my opinion, stuff like that just artificially lengthens the game.
even with that mod oblivion still looks better, oh and also most of those screenshots you used for oblivion arent in-game graphics they are pre rendered which is better than in-game so yeh.
@HowToBeAWierdo ummm yeh ok, i prefer oblivions graphics, soundtrack, quest system, exploration and combat over morrowind. Morrowind is still an excellent game but i can play oblivion for hours without boredom.
@Garthorium eh, I can respect that. They were both great games in my oppinion, I just perfer Morrowind over Oblivion. I also wasnt a big fan of Oblivion's skill system, and the fact that they were missing weapons that were present in all other games. I agree with fast travel, I didn't like it. Also, for the Pc version of Morrowind, once you install Tribunal, you get a journal add-on, which both helps you organize things, and has better directions, and has a quest only tab, similar to oblivion's
@HowToBeAWierdo it is good that this worked out to be a peaceful resolution instead of another verbal war. i respect all of what you say and this new info you have given me on morrowind contradicts me to further playing, i have no expansions for my morrowind and i am eager to get them.
@irkofan i know that, but what i'm saying is that words are made up on the spot and accepted into society as new words. omg, lol, will never be real words. harmonicness can be made real.
MGE only looks good in certain places, it looks like crap compared to oblivion most of the time though. Also, elderscrolls isn't the best RPG anymore, The Witcher 2 is better.
@ultraT230 Morrowind is by far the better game in every way, but theres no denying it that Oblivion has better graphics, even though Morrowind was more creative in it's art.
Morrowind far beats Oblivion with the mods, and the gameplay in Morrowind is much better, more R.P.G. based, less hack-and-slash.
However, combat magic in Obvlivion is far better, while it lacks in utility magic.
However, Oblivion's story is just the bee's knees compared to the...well...the last boss is cooler. Dagoth Ur looked really stupid, but the exploration in Morrowind is better than Oblivion's story-based exploration.
Haha poor Bethesda they make oblivion and everyone who loved morrowind hated it because they thought it had too much change. So then after fallout 3 they make fallout nv and they think they could keep the fanboys happy by making hardly any change lol. Skyrim for third time lucky Bethesda!
@tesrules Bethesda aint poor. They know exactly what they are doing and that is selling half products with a lot of presentation, wrapped up in to a shiny paper(graphics). It is their goal to sell less for more by convincing the consumers that they are making something new. But really when comparing Morrowind and Oblivion, what was there in Oblivion really new? Nothing. It was a shameful half-product made for kids which was of course presented as a hard-core RPG experience and which that is not.
@tesrules Did I forgot to mention how Oblivion contained less than half of the gaming content Morrowind had? And it was all dumbed down. Dumblivion. Thats why I dont believe in the upcoming Skyrim. I expect yet another somewhat pimped up Oblivion with vacuous storyline, lame side quests, shiny graphics and rubber characters, which doesnt match the standard of a real and serious RPG.
@tesrules Actually I think I understood exactly when(that lame ass scheming capitalistic prick) Todd Howard said that there are many improvements in the new TESV:Skyrim game. That means that they will somehow restrain them selves from selling facially disfigured trollish looking characters like in Oblivion.
@wcdornezwhere can I start? First of all get over it. It's been 5 years. If you want it to be harder go play daggerfall and arena. And I'm sick of this no soul crap, I understand you were dissapointed but maybe Bethesda made it for different gamers for a reason when all you fucking do is complain about the game for 6 years. I bet you haven't even played it fully and just rushed it assuming it sucks and Bethesda's a sellout. Why the he'll would they want to create the game for idiots like you?
@tesrules You stupid moron. I played Oblivion fully and to the end. How do you think I gained such thorough insight in to its half-accomplishment, besides that I clearly pointed out at the marketing tactics of presentation which Bethesda applied in order to sell an unfinished half product like Oblivion, and that is wrapping almost nothing in to a shiny paper and giving it to the feeble minded masses.
@tesrules The fact that you are ignorant proves exactly that thing, and that is the thing many have said already, that Oblivon is made for feeble minded. Some people simply fail to elevate their standards of perception when it comes to what is better, and you go under that league. People of today suffer from many limitations, and yours is that you simply do not know what is better. It is exactly those people on which master swindlers of representation like Bethesda makes money on.
@tesrules Ow, and I am soooo sorry I offended your favorite games director Todd Howard by calling him that lame ass scheming capitalistic prick. We all know you are gay with him.
@wcdornez Haha your pathetic, i find it funny that your so mad at Bethesda and you have to reply 3 times to me every time. You look so desperate, the funny thing is Oblivion had over 170 quests (not including the main or dlc) A house in every city for you to obtain, individual landscape for each area that suites it (eg cold mountains near Syrim and swamps near Black Marsh, And a contendor for the most voice acting in any game even made. If you do everything in that game it's over 150 hours....
@wcdornez ... and over 250 books to read.. Everyone with an individual schedule and job. No, i don't believe for a second that you have actually played Oblivion, like i said you looked at it, it wasn't morrowing so you assumed it was bad. You really havn't even scratched the surface of whats avalable in Oblivion. You just some loser fixated on one game and can't accept change.. And you never will be able to accept change. If they made every game like Morrowind this would be like every COD.
@tesrules Ok I have to repeat my self for the benefit of the doubt it seems. I went through Oblivion fully, with all the additonal content there is. In my opinion, and in the opionion of many other peple with proper standards of evaluation, Oblivions gaming content was extremely dumbed down, vacuos, shallow, lame, unserious, childish, going from side quests, to the main story, gameplay, inventory, and many other elements which others might add in their opinion.
@tesrules Actually there was no other change to that game but it being dumbed down. It is called going one step back than the predecessor, or in the case of the Oblivion game a few long steps back. But. Ok. Keep the side of your vacuous presumption by claiming that I have not played this game. I cant help it if your standards are lax.
@tesrules I understand that you or others would claim that as a high possiblity simply be cause you cant comprehend that there are much better gaming RPG accomplishments out there and which do not even have half as good Oblivion graphics. That is anyway what the todays generation is falling for first. The shiny graphics, regardless of everything else being vacuous, or how you said before no soul.
@tesrules Well that is the truth and you will see it with the few next passing years, you will say, ow I remember that shit Oblivion, or that empty butcher them brainless Fallout 3, and I cant believe how was it possible that I get turned on on such lame garbage of a half-product, I want real RPG experiences which have depth of character, and which are not repetitive or dumbed down.
@wcdornez Obviously tesrules enjoys Oblivion more than you did, and it's obvious you enjoy Morrowind more than he does, so why not just leave it at that? You 2 are both going in circles with nothing but Ad Hominem arguments to back up your facts, and you're just trying to push your opinions and agendas onto each other. As the saying goes, "to each his own," so with that in mind, just drop it.
@tesrules And if that day doesnt come, if your standards do not grow eventually, that means that your brain didnt grow. Untill that day(hopefully), enjoy your graphics, be cause they are so awesome, and the only thing a real game needs.
@wcdornez Yes the graphics erm.. because i went on about the graphics didn't i? No i explained to you that it has a lot more content that you give it credit for, and it's too easy is it? The first tes game (and still my favourite game) is Daggerfall try playing that. Games get simpler all the time. Is it a bad thing? No. So if they make it easier for you? It's a good thing. You don't and probabaly never will understand that everything is getting simpler technology and basic everyday things.
@tesrules You even said so yourself it's a simpler version of Morrowind with less content... But if your not happy with over 150 hours of gameplay your an idiot. And if you think it's repetative... Well you even said so your self it's the same game, but simpler. So i don't really understand why you hate a game so much that is the same but simpler? Where's all this hatred and 'selling out' comming from?
@tesrules LOL You are so funny when you talk like that. No dammit. It is not good when you use an understatement like simpler, rather than dumbed down. It is not a good thing when they dumb it down for you, be cause eventually your mind is going to become so lame being fed up with all that well presented half-product that if they throw you a piece of old bread you will swallow it with out notice. But ow yeah, thats the point! My bad. Sorry.
@wcdornez Oh yeah great comeback, you just avoided my question totally. So tell me where the hate comes from, keeping in mind all the content i explained to you earlier, yeah remember that. Now stop taking about what i said and answer the question. Also keep in mind that there's no soul exuse won't actually work unless you explain why. I'm actually quite curious to know. ( Btw mr. intelligent "funny when you talk like that" were typing..duh.)
@wcdornez Again you seem to not understand my question? Because anything you have said isn't really justified, so why don't you go ahead and respond to me question, I'm actually looking foward to hearing your answer.
@tesrules You must be blind or mentally disabled to the level where you fail to find your answer in those previous statements of mine where it has been clearly stated and defined. I do not intend to repeat my self for those which are possibly pretentious. Prove it that you are not one of that sort by looking for the answer there where it has been previously mentioned. Only then you will be reconsidered as a person worthy of my current time in this conversation.
@wcdornez So in that case half presented products is your answer? Sorry i don't take you seriously I didn't realise you were that much of a moron. Scroll back and look at all the content i just typed to you, i think that's more than enough to not be classified by morons like you as a 'half assed product' again, your answer isn't justified because you really don't have an answer that makes any sense. Because i'm pretty sure Oblivion is known to be one of the longest game on Xbox 360/PS3
@tesrules That explains your backwardness you manifested so far in the sense of your low gaming standards, and especially your personal self-expression. Classified? No, classified is an understatement here you chose your self. It is not the proper word when it comes to your type, rather, I am afraid you have been diagnosed with a serious case of infection with consolitis, a state of ones half-brain. Our best advice to you is: get hooked to PC and evolve your poor and overly-limited brain.
@wcdornez Haha your so cute. Talk about oblivion just being wrapped up. Do you even understand what I just typed? I didn't say 'I' did I? See if you focussed more on what I'm telling you rather than coming up with different ways to insult my intelligence your arguments may actually be valid. You pretty much just avoiding saying why and keep saying that oblivion is half a product but never justify it, so try again and stop repeating yourself because your just getting sad now.
@wcdornez Aha your so funny! You can't even relate to the topic maybe if you read what i say rather than thinking of different ways to insult my intelligence your arguments may actually be valid. Why don't you stay on topic because clearly you have no arguments on why you hate Oblivion so much. Half presented products isn't an answer moron, now stop repeating yourself and try to think of an answer that actually justifies why your so mad at Oblviion.
@tesrules I never said I am mad at Oblivion. I simply pointed out its weak points. Besides imagining all this and attributing the product of your imagination to me, you could as well try and not to be so frustrated.
@tesrules But, you can as well chose to continue your misinterpretation of things which doesnt make it less obvious so far that you are not quite mature enough for a rational conversation. As I said before. One day you will grow up, your standards will elevate(hopefully), and you will understand all this much better.
@wcdornez A rational conversation. You mean you raging at Bethesda and Todd howard, if you think thats rational your dumber than i thought. If you think i'm immature maybe you should get over the fact that Oblivion was made the way it was, because it's been 5 years now.. Move onto a new stage in your life.
@wcdornez Hmmm, thanks for that. I'l try to keep that in mind the next time you be choleric towards my simple statement. Maybe get over Oblivions not actually that bad.
@tesrules Hmm yes, besides the quest content being quite childish, TES Oblivon it self was quite visually pleasing to the eye, and it still is. Dont you think? It is so cool exploring through the forest with your fully equipped warrior who sweeps everything hostile that is moving in front of him. Thats the best impression I got from Oblivion. The forests. Too bad there is nothing much or awesome to explore at the same time, but a load of repetitively designed dungeons.
@wcdornez Well that's your opinion, the exploration was a lot better in Morrowing i'l admit, and yes the dungeons were really repetative but it's still a good game. I just don't get why there's so much hate. But I guess that's your choice.
@tesrules I dont hate this game, and I never said so. You simply presumed it. But, the reason why I dislike what the leading director Todd Howard did is the reason I mentioned before, and that is that they havent worked enough on the gameplay(repetitive dungeons, childish dumbed down content in the form of quests and shallow and vacuous main story), but they simply wrapped it up in to nice looks, and that was it. That makes Oblivion nothing of special rememberance. It is a passing experience.
@tesrules This usually works for those gaming beginners in RPG games, for kids, and especially console owners on which there are no such long term games so the half products like Oblivion and Fallout 3 are masterpieces of gameplay accomplishments on consoles.
@tesrules The PC gamers problem is that all these games are primarily developed for consoles, and then simply ported, and sold as PC games, which is as a result very offensive and demeaning to us PC gamers be cause PC games are known to be complex and detailed accomplishments in every aspect, and not just graphical like Oblivion and Fallout 3.
@tesrules In other words the PC gamers are being cheated by being sold console games. Dont get me wrong. There is nothing bad about owning a console but most of the console games are lacking in that special realistic detail of seriousness, be cause we know that the consoles are primarily designed for children...
@tesrules ...and we all have great experiences on playing the console games in our childhood, but to have those presented to us for PC as something equal of standard or even a REVOLUTION in PC gaming as Bethesda puts it, now that is already a nice way to sell you something which is not.
@wcdornez Yeah but Morrowind was on Xbox for one, and aslo Bethesda said themselves that it took 4x more time to create each quest in oblivion than it did in Morrowind. The games in these generations are getting easier and easier, just as everything is. Being dumbed down and simpler, Skyrim will be easier than Oblivion, but i guess i do see where your comming from. My advice, play demon's souls only game in a while that remins be of the beggining of rpg's.
@tesrules Yeah, I know Morrowind was on Xbox as well, but it was still a PC standard on PC, in my opinion and in the opinion of many other PC gamers as well. I actually expect some real quality from Skyrim, but we shall see.
@wcdornez Yeah, does look pretty epic, was suprised to see that the gameplay in the trailer is from the 360 version, can't wait to see it maxed on pc and modded out.
@tesrules I am interested to see what does Todd Howard mean exactly when he says in one of those Skyrim information interviews that there are plenty of new and interesting dungeons and areas to explore. I hope it will be really interesting and not a lame disappointment. What we have seen so far in that trailer looks promising visually, atmospherically, the enemies look seriously done as well.
@tesrules Just imagine, you are expecting a revolution in the games of RPG because Betheda is presenting its own work in that sense, and once you get it, you see that they are really misrepresenting their work. How dissapointing. I mean, it is great for a fifteen year old who is new to the thing. You know. It is all really awesome to him. You remember.
Playing Oblivion after a long spell of Morrowind makes me realise how soulless it feels by comparison. I'm really hoping that Skyrim recaptures some of the Morrowind feel, however by the looks of things it'll tend even moreso to the lowest common denominator, and slip further down the trail from RPG to action/swordflailer game.
ya the music is cool, glad that skyrim will have that main music it seems.. looks like your useing a outdated MGE because the water looks 50 times better on my MGE 3.2.8 you get dynamic ripples plus a few killer shaders for water... its a huge difference
well.... MGE looks slight better BUT (always a but) the mod requires a MONSTER pc to run smoothly. I run 4x 3.4 ghz, 5850OC,4GBram and to get 30fps I have to turn many settings down. Plus the MGE is just so full of bugs....
@xXaltowolfXxmp3 how right you are. both games are good, however, but i just hope skyrim manages to strike a balance between sharp picture quality, good textures and varied landscapes, whilst still making the gameplay excellent. If they can do that, then it'll be even better and last even longer than morrowind did.
@Nithor666 i suppose its just preference over which game you prefer. the thing about oblivion is that it fixed the faults of morrowind, but did it to such extent that it caused entirely new problems. you can get mods which fix these for both games, though. although morrowind was by far a superior game, oblivion did have many things which i loved, but hated in morrowind, such as the blocking, the better spellcasting, and the new vampire system (hated the morrowind vampires. loved the oblivionones
@Alex13tube This is true, but sadly it was only a beta and about 8 times out of 10, it won't convert correctly. Also, armor, clothes, and weapons don't convert so it will look very glitchy. But when it does properly convert, it is a fun experience, but to me, play it how it was meant to be played and not in oblivion.
this is a fair look... one thing though.... if morrowind gets mods to make it better, then so does oblivion. Take a look at natural environments and Qarls textures.... i rest my case. BTW you can add morrowind to oblivion !!!! morrowind was (and still is) one of the best games ever made, but oblivion is also amazing (if you get the right mods of course)
@Morrowinda K, question. I am playing Oblivion on a netbook (my netbook has a graphics card, a crappy one, but a graphics card). It runs, kinda choppy, but still playable. Would I be able to play Morrowwind on it do you think? I had always assumed that Morrowwind graphhics would either be the same or worse than Oblivion's, is that true?
@Dovakiiin correction will be the best (hopefully) but i am sure it wont get fucked up right now oblivion is so awesome i never played any other elder scrolls game only oblivion got it in 2010 and loved it graphics dint even bother me and im kind of a graphics whore so like the 3,5 years of graphics from games from now and oblivion dint bother me i like the style alot at first i didnt like it cos i didnt get it so much but then i tryed it and i liked it so much looking so forward to skyrim
morrowind story was F'cking better than oblivion but oblivion forest are perfert for hunting..... if morrowind used the oblivion interface OMFG it woukd be epic
Anyone here experienced with MGE, and more specifically, using shaders within MGE, that could help me out? I'm brand spankin' new to MGE and I'm having some difficulties with it. If anyone could help me out I would really appreciate it. Thanks
@Soreanol Ah, it's all sorted out now, but thanks a bunch. Hey, while I've got you though....is there anyway to keep Ren's hair meshes from disappearing underwater in 3rd person view? Do you know what I'm talking about?
I use a pack called Oblivion Overhaul - Sounds & Graphics (1.1), which includes a huge amount of graphical enhancements. No real bugs as far as I know and it's all in one package. It includes a lot of famous graphics mods all in one and it's very easy to install. It also doesn't conflict with many mods (as long as they're not duplicates). I highly recommend it.
Graphics, I think that Oblivion still wins. But the actual graphics are only part of the equation. I think Morowind still looks better in terms of environments due to very good and unique level design. But you were right, it is a very close competition.
Morrowind looks better, Oblivion is way to green

The gameplay of Morrowind beats Oblivion any day, regardless of the obvious graphical differences. (They're 4 years apart, ffs.)
Seeing how close this comparison is, there really shouldn't be any question of the better choice.
Skyrim's only 3 months away, but I may have to reinstall Morrowind immediately.

JeffWithAnF 7 months ago 20
@JeffWithAnF I would have loved fast travel in Morrowind... specially in the tribes quest's all that running around was almost no fun.

@JeffWithAnF lol even arena had fast travel.

even with that mod oblivion still looks better, oh and also most of those screenshots you used for oblivion arent in-game graphics they are pre rendered which is better than in-game so yeh.

Uncreati0n 8 months ago
@Uncreati0n Im sorry, but the only thing Oblivion has on Morrowind is the graphix :P
HowToBeAWierdo 8 months ago
@HowToBeAWierdo ummm yeh ok, i prefer oblivions graphics, soundtrack, quest system, exploration and combat over morrowind. Morrowind is still an excellent game but i can play oblivion for hours without boredom.
Garthorium 7 months ago
@Garthorium I can't say Morrowind's graphix beat oblivion, but in my opinion, the soundtrack, exploration and quest system are superior, because:
1. no fast travel, so Morrowind seems like a bigger place, even though it's not.
2.Way more quests in morrowind.
3.Morrowind has 2 fullscale expansions, as opposed to Oblivion's 1 1/2
4. More factions, and most of the factions have more quests than the factions of Oblivion.
5.longer storyline(in both main game and expansions)
6.Culture of morrowind
HowToBeAWierdo 7 months ago
@HowToBeAWierdo i agree with you on most of those but here is my opinion
1. no fast travel is good.
2. i hated the journal and questing system in morrowind because most quests never told you where to go (which has it's benefits)
3. knights of the nine was a great expansion but lacked content. S.I was shit.
4. Soundtrack of morrowind is good but does not beat oblivions ambience and harmonicness.
5.i enjoyed oblivions storyline, i got bored of morrowind.
6.Culture was good but game was too dull.
Garthorium 7 months ago
@Garthorium eh, I can respect that. They were both great games in my oppinion, I just perfer Morrowind over Oblivion. I also wasnt a big fan of Oblivion's skill system, and the fact that they were missing weapons that were present in all other games. I agree with fast travel, I didn't like it. Also, for the Pc version of Morrowind, once you install Tribunal, you get a journal add-on, which both helps you organize things, and has better directions, and has a quest only tab, similar to oblivion's
HowToBeAWierdo 7 months ago
@HowToBeAWierdo it is good that this worked out to be a peaceful resolution instead of another verbal war. i respect all of what you say and this new info you have given me on morrowind contradicts me to further playing, i have no expansions for my morrowind and i am eager to get them.

Both are great games.
MrOrbotron 9 months ago
Oblivion is better graphics, without any mods. oblivion WITH mods is awesome!
SuperFunnyman001 9 months ago
Haha poor Bethesda they make oblivion and everyone who loved morrowind hated it because they thought it had too much change. So then after fallout 3 they make fallout nv and they think they could keep the fanboys happy by making hardly any change lol. Skyrim for third time lucky Bethesda!
tesrules 9 months ago
@tesrules Bethesda aint poor. They know exactly what they are doing and that is selling half products with a lot of presentation, wrapped up in to a shiny paper(graphics). It is their goal to sell less for more by convincing the consumers that they are making something new. But really when comparing Morrowind and Oblivion, what was there in Oblivion really new? Nothing. It was a shameful half-product made for kids which was of course presented as a hard-core RPG experience and which that is not.
wcdornez 9 months ago
@tesrules Did I forgot to mention how Oblivion contained less than half of the gaming content Morrowind had? And it was all dumbed down. Dumblivion. Thats why I dont believe in the upcoming Skyrim. I expect yet another somewhat pimped up Oblivion with vacuous storyline, lame side quests, shiny graphics and rubber characters, which doesnt match the standard of a real and serious RPG.
wcdornez 9 months ago
@tesrules Actually I think I understood exactly when(that lame ass scheming capitalistic prick) Todd Howard said that there are many improvements in the new TESV:Skyrim game. That means that they will somehow restrain them selves from selling facially disfigured trollish looking characters like in Oblivion.
wcdornez 9 months ago
@wcdornezwhere can I start? First of all get over it. It's been 5 years. If you want it to be harder go play daggerfall and arena. And I'm sick of this no soul crap, I understand you were dissapointed but maybe Bethesda made it for different gamers for a reason when all you fucking do is complain about the game for 6 years. I bet you haven't even played it fully and just rushed it assuming it sucks and Bethesda's a sellout. Why the he'll would they want to create the game for idiots like you?
tesrules 9 months ago
@tesrules You stupid moron. I played Oblivion fully and to the end. How do you think I gained such thorough insight in to its half-accomplishment, besides that I clearly pointed out at the marketing tactics of presentation which Bethesda applied in order to sell an unfinished half product like Oblivion, and that is wrapping almost nothing in to a shiny paper and giving it to the feeble minded masses.
wcdornez 9 months ago
@tesrules The fact that you are ignorant proves exactly that thing, and that is the thing many have said already, that Oblivon is made for feeble minded. Some people simply fail to elevate their standards of perception when it comes to what is better, and you go under that league. People of today suffer from many limitations, and yours is that you simply do not know what is better. It is exactly those people on which master swindlers of representation like Bethesda makes money on.
wcdornez 9 months ago
@tesrules Ow, and I am soooo sorry I offended your favorite games director Todd Howard by calling him that lame ass scheming capitalistic prick. We all know you are gay with him.
wcdornez 9 months ago
@wcdornez Haha your pathetic, i find it funny that your so mad at Bethesda and you have to reply 3 times to me every time. You look so desperate, the funny thing is Oblivion had over 170 quests (not including the main or dlc) A house in every city for you to obtain, individual landscape for each area that suites it (eg cold mountains near Syrim and swamps near Black Marsh, And a contendor for the most voice acting in any game even made. If you do everything in that game it's over 150 hours....
tesrules 9 months ago
@wcdornez ... and over 250 books to read.. Everyone with an individual schedule and job. No, i don't believe for a second that you have actually played Oblivion, like i said you looked at it, it wasn't morrowing so you assumed it was bad. You really havn't even scratched the surface of whats avalable in Oblivion. You just some loser fixated on one game and can't accept change.. And you never will be able to accept change. If they made every game like Morrowind this would be like every COD.
tesrules 9 months ago
@tesrules Ok I have to repeat my self for the benefit of the doubt it seems. I went through Oblivion fully, with all the additonal content there is. In my opinion, and in the opionion of many other peple with proper standards of evaluation, Oblivions gaming content was extremely dumbed down, vacuos, shallow, lame, unserious, childish, going from side quests, to the main story, gameplay, inventory, and many other elements which others might add in their opinion.
wcdornez 9 months ago
@tesrules Actually there was no other change to that game but it being dumbed down. It is called going one step back than the predecessor, or in the case of the Oblivion game a few long steps back. But. Ok. Keep the side of your vacuous presumption by claiming that I have not played this game. I cant help it if your standards are lax.
wcdornez 9 months ago
@tesrules I understand that you or others would claim that as a high possiblity simply be cause you cant comprehend that there are much better gaming RPG accomplishments out there and which do not even have half as good Oblivion graphics. That is anyway what the todays generation is falling for first. The shiny graphics, regardless of everything else being vacuous, or how you said before no soul.
wcdornez 9 months ago
@tesrules Well that is the truth and you will see it with the few next passing years, you will say, ow I remember that shit Oblivion, or that empty butcher them brainless Fallout 3, and I cant believe how was it possible that I get turned on on such lame garbage of a half-product, I want real RPG experiences which have depth of character, and which are not repetitive or dumbed down.
wcdornez 9 months ago
@wcdornez Obviously tesrules enjoys Oblivion more than you did, and it's obvious you enjoy Morrowind more than he does, so why not just leave it at that? You 2 are both going in circles with nothing but Ad Hominem arguments to back up your facts, and you're just trying to push your opinions and agendas onto each other. As the saying goes, "to each his own," so with that in mind, just drop it.
GluStikz 9 months ago
@tesrules And if that day doesnt come, if your standards do not grow eventually, that means that your brain didnt grow. Untill that day(hopefully), enjoy your graphics, be cause they are so awesome, and the only thing a real game needs.
wcdornez 9 months ago
@wcdornez Yes the graphics erm.. because i went on about the graphics didn't i? No i explained to you that it has a lot more content that you give it credit for, and it's too easy is it? The first tes game (and still my favourite game) is Daggerfall try playing that. Games get simpler all the time. Is it a bad thing? No. So if they make it easier for you? It's a good thing. You don't and probabaly never will understand that everything is getting simpler technology and basic everyday things.
tesrules 9 months ago
@tesrules You even said so yourself it's a simpler version of Morrowind with less content... But if your not happy with over 150 hours of gameplay your an idiot. And if you think it's repetative... Well you even said so your self it's the same game, but simpler. So i don't really understand why you hate a game so much that is the same but simpler? Where's all this hatred and 'selling out' comming from?
tesrules 9 months ago
@tesrules LOL You are so funny when you talk like that. No dammit. It is not good when you use an understatement like simpler, rather than dumbed down. It is not a good thing when they dumb it down for you, be cause eventually your mind is going to become so lame being fed up with all that well presented half-product that if they throw you a piece of old bread you will swallow it with out notice. But ow yeah, thats the point! My bad. Sorry.
wcdornez 9 months ago
@wcdornez Oh yeah great comeback, you just avoided my question totally. So tell me where the hate comes from, keeping in mind all the content i explained to you earlier, yeah remember that. Now stop taking about what i said and answer the question. Also keep in mind that there's no soul exuse won't actually work unless you explain why. I'm actually quite curious to know. ( Btw mr. intelligent "funny when you talk like that" were typing..duh.)
tesrules 9 months ago
@tesrules You actually have a trouble gulping down the fact about Bethesda selling well presented half-products, dont you?
wcdornez 9 months ago
@wcdornez Again you seem to not understand my question? Because anything you have said isn't really justified, so why don't you go ahead and respond to me question, I'm actually looking foward to hearing your answer.
tesrules 9 months ago
@tesrules You must be blind or mentally disabled to the level where you fail to find your answer in those previous statements of mine where it has been clearly stated and defined. I do not intend to repeat my self for those which are possibly pretentious. Prove it that you are not one of that sort by looking for the answer there where it has been previously mentioned. Only then you will be reconsidered as a person worthy of my current time in this conversation.
wcdornez 9 months ago
@wcdornez So in that case half presented products is your answer? Sorry i don't take you seriously I didn't realise you were that much of a moron. Scroll back and look at all the content i just typed to you, i think that's more than enough to not be classified by morons like you as a 'half assed product' again, your answer isn't justified because you really don't have an answer that makes any sense. Because i'm pretty sure Oblivion is known to be one of the longest game on Xbox 360/PS3
tesrules 9 months ago
@tesrules That explains your backwardness you manifested so far in the sense of your low gaming standards, and especially your personal self-expression. Classified? No, classified is an understatement here you chose your self. It is not the proper word when it comes to your type, rather, I am afraid you have been diagnosed with a serious case of infection with consolitis, a state of ones half-brain. Our best advice to you is: get hooked to PC and evolve your poor and overly-limited brain.
wcdornez 9 months ago
@wcdornez Haha your so cute. Talk about oblivion just being wrapped up. Do you even understand what I just typed? I didn't say 'I' did I? See if you focussed more on what I'm telling you rather than coming up with different ways to insult my intelligence your arguments may actually be valid. You pretty much just avoiding saying why and keep saying that oblivion is half a product but never justify it, so try again and stop repeating yourself because your just getting sad now.
tesrules 9 months ago
@wcdornez Aha your so funny! You can't even relate to the topic maybe if you read what i say rather than thinking of different ways to insult my intelligence your arguments may actually be valid. Why don't you stay on topic because clearly you have no arguments on why you hate Oblivion so much. Half presented products isn't an answer moron, now stop repeating yourself and try to think of an answer that actually justifies why your so mad at Oblviion.
tesrules 9 months ago
@tesrules I never said I am mad at Oblivion. I simply pointed out its weak points. Besides imagining all this and attributing the product of your imagination to me, you could as well try and not to be so frustrated.

@tesrules But, you can as well chose to continue your misinterpretation of things which doesnt make it less obvious so far that you are not quite mature enough for a rational conversation. As I said before. One day you will grow up, your standards will elevate(hopefully), and you will understand all this much better.
wcdornez 9 months ago
@wcdornez A rational conversation. You mean you raging at Bethesda and Todd howard, if you think thats rational your dumber than i thought. If you think i'm immature maybe you should get over the fact that Oblivion was made the way it was, because it's been 5 years now.. Move onto a new stage in your life.
tesrules 9 months ago
@tesrules Please. Get over your self already.
wcdornez 9 months ago
@wcdornez Hmmm, thanks for that. I'l try to keep that in mind the next time you be choleric towards my simple statement. Maybe get over Oblivions not actually that bad.
tesrules 9 months ago
@tesrules Hmm yes, besides the quest content being quite childish, TES Oblivon it self was quite visually pleasing to the eye, and it still is. Dont you think? It is so cool exploring through the forest with your fully equipped warrior who sweeps everything hostile that is moving in front of him. Thats the best impression I got from Oblivion. The forests. Too bad there is nothing much or awesome to explore at the same time, but a load of repetitively designed dungeons.
wcdornez 9 months ago
@wcdornez Well that's your opinion, the exploration was a lot better in Morrowing i'l admit, and yes the dungeons were really repetative but it's still a good game. I just don't get why there's so much hate. But I guess that's your choice.
tesrules 9 months ago
@tesrules I dont hate this game, and I never said so. You simply presumed it. But, the reason why I dislike what the leading director Todd Howard did is the reason I mentioned before, and that is that they havent worked enough on the gameplay(repetitive dungeons, childish dumbed down content in the form of quests and shallow and vacuous main story), but they simply wrapped it up in to nice looks, and that was it. That makes Oblivion nothing of special rememberance. It is a passing experience.
wcdornez 9 months ago
@tesrules This usually works for those gaming beginners in RPG games, for kids, and especially console owners on which there are no such long term games so the half products like Oblivion and Fallout 3 are masterpieces of gameplay accomplishments on consoles.
wcdornez 9 months ago
@tesrules The PC gamers problem is that all these games are primarily developed for consoles, and then simply ported, and sold as PC games, which is as a result very offensive and demeaning to us PC gamers be cause PC games are known to be complex and detailed accomplishments in every aspect, and not just graphical like Oblivion and Fallout 3.
wcdornez 9 months ago
@tesrules In other words the PC gamers are being cheated by being sold console games. Dont get me wrong. There is nothing bad about owning a console but most of the console games are lacking in that special realistic detail of seriousness, be cause we know that the consoles are primarily designed for children...
wcdornez 9 months ago
@tesrules ...and we all have great experiences on playing the console games in our childhood, but to have those presented to us for PC as something equal of standard or even a REVOLUTION in PC gaming as Bethesda puts it, now that is already a nice way to sell you something which is not.
wcdornez 9 months ago

I actually expect some real quality from Skyrim, but we shall see.
wcdornez 9 months ago
@wcdornez Yeah, does look pretty epic, was suprised to see that the gameplay in the trailer is from the 360 version, can't wait to see it maxed on pc and modded out.
tesrules 9 months ago
@tesrules I am interested to see what does Todd Howard mean exactly when he says in one of those Skyrim information interviews that there are plenty of new and interesting dungeons and areas to explore. I hope it will be really interesting and not a lame disappointment. What we have seen so far in that trailer looks promising visually, atmospherically, the enemies look seriously done as well.
wcdornez 9 months ago
@tesrules I guess it all depends now on the good and inspired story and plenty of interesting side quests to entertain me.
wcdornez 9 months ago

@xXaltowolfXxmp3 how right you are. both games are good, however, but i just hope skyrim manages to strike a balance between sharp picture quality, good textures and varied landscapes, whilst still making the gameplay excellent.

@Soreanol Ah, it's all sorted out now, but thanks a bunch. Hey, while I've got you though....is there anyway to keep Ren's hair meshes from disappearing underwater in 3rd person view? Do you know what I'm talking about?
HoppingMadMedia 11 months ago
@HoppingMadMedia I have no knowledge of that, sorry.
Soreanol 11 months ago
Graphics, I think that Oblivion still wins. But the actual graphics are only part of the equation. I think Morowind still looks better in terms of environments due to very good and unique level design. But you were right, it is a very close competition.
