I remember not only having to watch what my parents wanted, but also being the family's remote control as my father would send me repeatedly to the TV to do his channel surfing.

OMG, I used to watch some Brazilian soaps (not quite what you're talking about). There was no need for translation, bcuz they were so over-the-top. They were hilarious. And risque. Saz I am afraid to answer this and blow my reputation but I was never a prude. I am so not conservative either. I can only speak for myself but I ran nude on a public beach when I was young, lived thru the " Love " era of the sixties before aids where we did whatever we wanted to do with whomever we wanted . I didn't own a bra for years and loved every minute . My boyfriend was a policeman that owned a Harley. I rode the back of that bike every day. My body has changed but not my mind..

I grew up during the civil rights movement and the drug scene too. I have never been a racist and I have never tried any form of drugs but other than that I could shock you. These older people that you know had fun too, they just don't tell you about it. Life beats some people down and they become somber but I have always seen the glass as half full. When I die, my tombstone will read : "She Tried It all and liked most of it " I got my tattoo when I was 50. Wonder what I will do at 60 ?
