Another chord which is used is D/A# which is D, but with your thumb on the second fret of the A string.. that's when it stops and strums like a bunch of D chords they're all kinda different it's D, D/C#, D/A#, D, G, Gm, D.. and the other struming pattern that is used sometimes is DDU UDU hopefully this helped.. I'm not really sure, but i think if you listen closely to the song after struming the pattern with an A chord it's an A7 chord sometimes.. Listen closely to the song and try it out it might be right.. it seems wrong at first but try to make it fit.. :P

@skaterbomber123 I used to have problems singing along to songs when I first started playing but the secret to it is to just keep playing the song over and over again until it becomes natural for you fingers to take the right positions and you don't have to focus on that as much. Good luck! :)

for those who cant reach the 5th string 4 fret you could bar the 123 strings on the 2nd fret with your index finger. then your middle finger will go on the 2nd string of the 3rd fret which is exactly as a D chord only without using ur ring finger.then your ring finger can now reach the 5th string of the 4th fret!! @TheSpoonKitty try barring your index finger on the last three strings on the 2nd fret,, put your middle finger on the 3rd fret of the B string and then your ring finger on the 4th fret of the A string... it sounds about the same!
